Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

Only now i realized that scea REALLY doesn't care about vita, tearaway and killzone are european games(scee), freedom wars is japanese(scej), what about scea? Late and cheap ports like gow collection i guess :(

VLR for free is awesome. Probably one of the best games on the Vita (and sooo underrated!). Ill be playing it again after finishing it on the 3DS. And yes, its best to watch the 999 true ending before playing it so you know what the franchise is all about.

So in terms of PS+ regions, how does EU fare against NA? I'm in Egypt, not an officially supported region anywhere, so basically I get to choose where I can subscribe again. I was subscribed to NA PS+ a few months ago, but I'm hearing EU seems to get better freebies and deals.

I know man :( And there are some amazing SCEA studios, too. Guess they're too good for the Vita. :/

PS Vita support's been pretty much a wash, both regions get great games (IMO) but as far as the PS3 support it's been all SCEE all the time.

Let's hope the gamescom will be as good for vita as they promise...
Just don't get hyped!

well I lowered my expectations for E3 but it ended super bad, so this time I'll do the opposite and level-up my hype to the sun...

so from gamescom for Vita I want
- Folklore 2
- Siren 3
- GTVita
- Persona 5
- Digital Devil Saga 1/2 Golden
- Syphon Filter Reboot
- Drakan Portable
- Saints Row Stilwater Episodes
- Bioshock Return to Columbia
- TES Dovahkids Adventures
- Legend of Dragoon Remake
- Demon's Souls 2
- Shahid's super duper super awesomely creamy chocolaty super game.

no one can stop the hype mecha-bulldozer now.

i don't think there is one. but it's only 10 bucks and its yobo.

They already said "no demo".

HLM... hahaha... that will go awesome after some quality time with UC, UC2, UC3, and UC:GA.

If I could migrate my account to EU and just do that from now on? I'd do it in a heartbeat. If they let me flip a switch to say "corrosivefrost is a UK/EU account now", I'd be on it before you could blink.
Better PSP support and pricing. Better PSOne support and pricing. Better PS+ selection. Better EVERYTHING save prices.

I'm back from Los Angeles and got a chance to play some Playstation Vita games. Not all of them, mind you, since I had a limited time there. I wanted to try Killzone: Mercenary but didnt get the chance, but I did try Spelunky, Tearaway, Ys and other titles. Here are some very quick impressions! And mind you my english isnt perfect.

Spelunky: Looks like a perfect port from the Xbox Live arcade game. Derek Yu was there and he was very nice to me and my friend. He told us theres still one easter egg that people have to find in Spelunky and his favorite monster is the yeti. He also said that the multiplayer in the Vita game will let players have their own camera, different from the Xbox version where two players had to share the same screen, what would lead to inumerous deaths. Great game and a day one buy! Heres my pic with Derek Yu http://postimg.org/image/ephb4ldhj/

Ys: Memories of Celceta: My previous experience with the Ys series was the PC version of Ys Origin and this game feels very different. In the E3 demo, you controlled a party of 3 characters in what seemed like a semi open-world map filled with monsters, loot and treasure chests. You could change between the characters at any time and they all had different attacks/magic powers at your disposal. Very fast and chaotic ARPG combat - also very cool and fluid with some beautiful animations and character art. Unfortunately the build was in japanese so I couldnt understand some of the mechanics.

Tearaway: Im not a Little Big Planet fan but was impressed with Tearaway and its charismatic lead character. It was cool to see some of the gimmicks implemented by Media Molecule into the game, like the Vita camera used to show your face in some gameplay areas as the "protector" of the character. The rear and front touch screens were also used to make the char jump higher or unwrap gifts. It was also cool to draw thing in the world and use it to put in some of the npcs. In the beginning you can use your finger to draw a crown and put it in the head of a friendly squirrel. Some of the combat elements were shown and you can evade attacks and lift monsters and then throw them away to cause damage. Hope its a good game but Im afraid that so many Vita gimmicks can damp the experience.

Valhalla Knights 3: That was a weird game. I had controll of a party of... 3 members, I think, and was put in a desert area filled with enemies that would start battle as I approached, like a traditional JRPG. When I approached them the game changed to a combat scenario and I could change characters on the fly. I didnt understand it very well, the combat for some characters was weird, like the archer that would fire arrows that were too slow in my opinion. Game had a lot of bugs, like some enemies in the world map that would stay still and not attack me at all.

Dragon's Crown: So beautiful! I had control of the archer and the demo started with me walking around the main town. The character art and enemies look gorgeous on the Vita screen. Combat was kinda confusing at first since I really need some kind of tutorial in these kind of games haha, so took me a while to figure out that the archer fire arrows on the "o" button and has melee attacks on the "square" button. Great game and a lot of fun in co-op. Didnt have a lot of time to play it though.

I also played Muramasa and the game looks awesome and its as good as the Wii game. Oh, and its coming tonight, woot :) My friend played Destiny of Spirits and didnt like it very much.

Speaking of Double Eleven, they're teaming up with the Q-Games, the PixelJunk devs, on something. No guarantee that will lead to anything Vita related (it's a possibility though I guess), but what a match-up!

Confirmation of this here:

"Q-Games is excited and proud to announce a partnership with UK-based Double Eleven Ltd., the team behind the impressive conversion of Little Big Planet and Limbo for PlayStation Vita. While we’re holding the exact details behind our partnership close to the vest, we’ll have more specifics about our exciting collaborations in the near future. The future of the PixelJunk series has never looked brighter."

Sounds like it's Vita related since they cite the two ports there.

Hey guys, through some idiotic confusion of ours, my brother and I put on the wrong PSN account on our PS Vita, is there some way to switch the account or is it locked in forever?

Yes! Just now playing through P4 for the first time and heard good things about DDS. I would love playing it on Vita.

Guess someone at Sony heard my complaint about game trailers on the vita. DL that Killzone video and damn do some of the environments look good. Got me pretty excited for the game.

Currently enjoying Soul Sacrifice and LBP vita. Feels good to play my vita again.
Still so bummed that Crash 1-3 / CTR aren't available on US PSN still. What the hell.

I want new games first and foremost. but honestly...i wouldn't mind more ports of full console games, as long as they're not shitty like Jak Trilogy. These indie ports are cool too because the cream of the indie crop holds its own.

really dont see how Hotline Miami is gonna work on the vita joysticks compared to the keyboard mouse combo

that mouse precision was necessary for pulling off some of those combos

Just played the first five levels of Stealth Bastard (Stealth Inc. coming to Vita), it plays great. I think I might like it more than Mark of the Ninja, which was somewhat disappointing to me. I think I'll stop playing Stealth Bastard and wait for the Vita version, definitely would rather play this kind of game on an handheld and on that screen. Do we have an estimate on the release date?

I played it all with the 360 pad and it was a blast.

Metal Gear Solid (Subtitle Anything)

More over hype for us.

Hey guys, through some idiotic confusion of ours, my brother and I put on the wrong PSN account on our PS Vita, is there some way to switch the account or is it locked in forever?

The account is link to the memory. You can format the memory, I think. I don't have my Vita near, but I'm pretty sure there is a tool for it on the options.

yea, you would pretty much follow the same guidelines for switching accounts. you would go to settings, then restore the ps vita system. you could then deactivate the account on it, then set it up like its a new vita, linking another account

your card would be formatted

This is the best news I've heard this far for vita!! Would love to play a new PJM on the vita or even Eden! Can't wait to see what it is.

Also Dylan Cuthbert was on the PS4 reveal video. Maybe they're also working on something PS4 related?

Also, James Mielke (who works at Q-Games now as a producer) responded to my question of their future game being a Vita game with a curiously URL title picture:

So I took it as a yes lolol. I think they'd be a perfect fit for Vita, they make great indie games.

OH - TOP OF PAGE. BUY PERSONA 4, DJMAX, MURAMASA .... and preorder Ys, Killzone, Tearaway :3

I bet Mielke is now happy he didn't get the Team Ninja job he was so openly angling for during their prime haha
