That's one of the best Frank West teams in the game.

LVL4 Frank West with Jam Session is the best character in the game. If anything someone might try the guard break tech with him at EVO.

I was just looking over seed points for AE and Marvel.

Difference between Chris G and the 2nd person in UMVC3 (Justin "Marvelous" Wong) is 76 points. HOLY SHIT!!!!

Surprisingly Xian has a lot of points in UMVC3 as well.

(__hector sanchez__) @hecterrific
@llRicoSuavell @bambamguitar @MK_REO @MK_CDjr Well, we're looking into it. Just know that it's not being ignored. These things take time.

I'm so glad this ban talk is going on and Hector and those NRS guys are responding to the concern and "looking into it". Something has to be done, a back-teleport is ABSURDLY dumb for a "hold back to block" fighter

I like this descriptor. The amount of yomi in this particular sequence made made my head explode.
That is straight up precognition.
The shirt that I designed finally came in.

Honestly there's nothing quite like seeing your design on a shirt for the first time. It looks about a million times better than I expected it to, and i'm jsut so hype right now.
Looking real good. Definitely one of the best shirts to come out of the weekly Salty Cupcakes offerings. Shoutouts to 86'd for picking up your design.
It's a community run tourney on premise but will get main stream time for Top 8

For people that care, the number of confirmed entrants for SG is 126 with another ~10 still not paid.
I was hoping for a nice 150, but this is even better than last year's 102.

I heard someone say Chris G is the #1 seed regardless of what goes on up to Evo. Not sure what the points are looking like though.
ChrisG is #1 seed by a significant margin, you don't need to look at a list/ranking to know this. It's really a matter of who's second.

Can someone point to a good demonstration of the Scorpion problem to those of us who turn off the stream when Injustice comes on? :-P

From what I understand the Hellfire and teleport cross up is too good. MK players aren't used to cross ups because they are used to "press button to block" which negates the cross up element. Hellfire also is extremely good in this game just with the way movement works. His Jump + 3 is pretty good too.

The teleport punch is a cross up, homes in and is hard to react to. It does not belong in this game. Hell if that move was in Marvel 3 it would be broken too. He essentially makes zoning useless against him... it's essentially Vanilla Wolverine although the MK community think he is ST Akuma tier.

Its not just the crossup though from my understanding.

Part of it is the "you can't use any of the interactables", "guess how to block when I jump-in with my 8 frame normal." and all that on top of it being a super fast crossup.

I think one of them said it was +9 on block with meter burn as well, which is ridiculous.

So everytime Scorpion jumps in, you have to guess "is he going to do a jump in attack or do a teleport". And the risk-reward is apparently always in his favor.

Oh yeah I forgot you can even do it from the air.

Imagine a full screen tracking Berserker Slash that can be used in the air and it will home in on the opponent no matter where he is.

Honestly Scorpion should've been banned just because of the time frame in which he was released in (same for ZOD). It's way too close to EVO for people to adjust to. I mean I can just imagine in a hypothetical state where Capcom just decides to add a character to AE a few weeks before EVO, there would be a shit storm too if that character had some easy to abuse stuff that can get you free wins in a tournament.

I mean just put yourself in the player's shoes. You practice for months for the 3 biggest tournaments of the year (CEO, EVO, VxG) and spend a lot of money to go there... then you get scrubbed out by some random Scorpions doing herp derp teleports on your ass in a 2/3 format.

Arcade Edition came out 1 month before Evo.

And people complained the hell out of AE as well to the point where Capcom released Apology Edition within a year. And that game came out in Japan quite a while before EVO so people could scout the characters and at least have an idea. Scorpion just came out.

The funny part is that some players don't even think Scorpion is the best theoretical character in the game but they think he is the best (see: scrubbiest) tournament character in the game simply due to the format. It's like a Super Skrull who was top tier and very easy to use... everyone would use him because he could 50/50 you from any where on the screen while having options to actually make himself safe. You could win the game by just throwing coins at the opponent and letting them sort it out.

If you weren't talking about Scorpion, I'd honestly think you were talking about SSF4 El Fuerte.

Well El Fuerte isn't as easy to use/abuse and he doesn't have an easy singular move that beats all forms of zoning.

its not just zoning from what I understand. REO and tom brady both say its so stupid how hard it is to even rushdown the character as well. That it basically comes down to "you better knock him down and just vortex him to death or lose"

El Fuerte also doesn't have full screen 50/50 with one of the 50's being an unblockable. He also doesn't shut down the metagame of almost the entire roster.

He is hard to rushdown because moving around with Scorpion makes it easier for him to teleport punch you. Plus its extremely hard to anti air his j 3. Crouching negates the teleport punch but against that he has Hellfire.

Also I just realized that Scorpion in the pig stage is auto win.

Yeah it can be auto win. Throw the pig, teleport to the other side of the opponent, hit them so that they're behind the pig, throw it, teleport behind, repeat. I call it Pigs Among Us, because it's a bunch of free unblockables (stage interactions are good guys srs) for the most part unless the opponent can get out of the way of the pig.

practice jump-in combos in training room for several hours, day after day. HOW BAD YOU WANT IT!?

Funny thing, I know you are joking, but I do find it kind of annoying how a lot of videos always do a lot of jump in corner combos, and people get the impression that stuff like that is always the standard. Sometimes when I pick up a new game, I have to look through a few vids to actually find something that works decently midscreen.
