I still don't see how that means Steins;gate and Fate/Zero don't have the same exposure as K-On and SAO. Like what metric do you want to use? Japanese sales? They are both high, especially Fate/Zero. Popularity on anime communities like Myanimelist? They both have a lot of members discussing them. Western sales? Numbers are non-existent so we can't compare them.

It's pretty dead but still. I would love a revival. To be honest I got into anime a little over a year ago and it saddens me to see it in such a state. I came in at a bad time :/ lol

Toonami is the closest thing we'll get to a revival. It's still pretty small but it's doing better and better.

I don't know, Toonami ratings are damn good now, and that doesn't even take into account the traffic all the official streaming sites like Crunchyroll are getting. I'd say it's pretty alive, even if it isn't as financially viable as it was in the 90s/early 2000s.

Have you ? The last 4 or so episodes has been nothing but people standing around doing jack shit, without advancing the plot, just characters standing around staring at nothing and speaking non sense. And with all the stills, they might as well have kept it as a manga.
That's not what was being sold to me when people were hyping Attack on Titan.

While I agree with the sentiment, that doesn't describe Attack on Titan in the least. Stuff has happened in at least 9/12 episodes so far.

Are you kidding me. There has been never a better time to watch anime. You can watch all the classics AND new stuffs from japan on the web. WITH TRANSLATION.
back in the day we had to wait someone else like ADV films to translate and give it to us via VHS, or have to fansub it ourselves. and that wasn't easy.
The irony is that strong fandom was what brought collapse of anime market in US. everyone was watching for free and there as no money to be made =P
Eh. Crunchroll makes money from other stuff too, and I don't watch Toonami is saturday night (12 am to 5 am?) that is ultra niche.

There is a lot of great sources now and great new anime. Believe me ive been doing plenty of manga reading and anime watching lately.
I just hate all the hatedom anime gets nowadays. It's ridiculous.
No one is really standing around and doing nothing though. There is nothing bad about what is going on now it is just taking too long. The past 3 episodes couldve been 1 or 2.
Do what I do.

That would be amazing. More than just Toonami, super legit channels like that. Alas it is a pipe dream.

Anime isn't even mainstream in its home country. It's not going to hit prime time here.
The most you can hope for are popular adaptations, like the upcoming (lol) Monster one on HBO.

I hate it even more because it started out amazing but the last 3 or 4 episodes have been utter *shit*
That's a whole month of me eagerly waiting week by week to see some spiderman/swordplay only to get 5 minutes of flashback, 14 minutes of bullshit exposition and 1 minute of action.
Indefensible. The last 4 episodes are utterly indefensible.

Not as much as the anime.
I mean, the boulder moved in one chapter, the boulder hasn't moved in 2-3 episodes.
This sums up my thoughts on it. Though I've read the manga, I find that the aforementioned still applies. The premise is interesting enough but once you go beyond that, even calling it popcorn entertainment would be an insult to real popcorn entertainment.

It's the best anime to come out in a long time, the concept is fresh and exciting. Sure the anime drags a little bit but that's due to the manga coming out monthly rather than weekly.

I never saw the dub. But I'll take your word for it, I guess?
I mean, I personally like it. People's heads are a little too big for their bodies in the beginning, but thankfully that's not the case anymore. I don't know if what you consider "good" would be the same as what I would though. I like the rough "scratchy" style the artist has. I think it adds to the setting and to the action scenes. Obviously the anime has the advantage in action scenes because it's, well, animated, but I find the art style a bit too sterile in comparison. However, not neccesariky ugly. I just prefer the manga's look. But then again, if I had to recommend something based solely on it's art, then Attack on Titan would probably not even come up. The real attraction to the work of course is the setting, characters, plot, etc.

Exactly how I feel. Those first two episodes were some of the most entertaining anime I have seen in years. The next 3 made me remember why I don't watch anime that much anymore. I hate it when things suddenly look they are drawn by entirely different people with much less quality. I am sure it happens in most of the animes I like, but for this one it was particularly noticeable.
Wondering if there are any standouts like the first 2 yet, because the last one I saw was almost entirely a flashback. Guess I will come back to it in a few months and see what happens.
Outside of some of the moe culture, which if you've watched anime at all in the last 5 or 10 years you're at least aware that it exists, they converted the references to equivalent western nerd culture references.
Well can you say he is not right at least with the standing around and doing freaking nothing i mean what happened in the last lets say 3 episodes? Freaking nothing ! Half the episodes were flashbacks and the other half stills with mind numbingly stupid dialogue!
The currently best anime out there and one of the all time best is hunterxhunter 2011 thats how you do freaking pacing!

You mean if all 25 episodes were out? I don't know. I don't know if it's going to go back to being awesome of if I just fell for the ol' anime bait and switch. (ever watch that anime No.6? or how about Senki Zesshou Symphogear?)
I haven't had my socks blown off by an anime since Guuren Lagaan. But then again I've got Toriko and HunterxHunter and a bunch of stuff in the ol backlog.
There is a noticeable drop in quality in the last few episodes.
