PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

I played 999, got a shitty ending and couldn't be bothered to play the game over and over again just to figure out what's going on.

Guess I'm gonna hit up some wikis about the plot myself before starting VLR.

My experience exactly. Still deciding whether to replay it again for a better ending or not.

what the hell guys, playing it to see all the endings is kinda the point :\

I'd probably read the Wiki as well. I've been playing it off and on since it was released and it just never sticks with me despite liking the story. When I do eventually beat it I seriously doubt I'll go through it again and again despite being the point.

It's not possible to get the best ending the first playthrough.

It's what makes 999 and VLR interesting. If you play through either one once for one ending, it's like playing the first third of a regular game.

I just completed my second playthrough of 999 in anticipation of VLR on Plus. I really liked the "second/true" ending and how it made sense with the rest of the story. I'm hoping that VLR offers similar gripping drama.

just started VLR last night and it's really cool so far.

I decided to team up with luna to tackle the magenta room :D with phi.

I was surprised at how long the introduction took lol I was so tired and it was hard to get through. My tired brain couldn't comprehend the color system and everything lol.

anyway,

I wonder when plus will get pinball arcade :(

Needed something to carry me over until the PS4 comes out, so I re-subbed last night. Downloaded Vanquish and just finished it. The $18 was already worth it and it's still day one.

Vanquish is a damn good game.

I also re-subbed last night. But only because I forgot to turn off auto-renewal :\

US update

I sold my bf3 because i was hoping its come to plus in the us :/

VLR is absolutely fantastic. One of the few vita games I have finished. Truly an engrossing experience.

The US version is better than the EU purely because you can just sit and listen to all the talking as opposed to mashing X when reading the text.

I'm very happy VLR is free, but also sad so many are playing it without having played 999 ffirst.

I'm sure they can still enjoy it, it just does so much more for the overall experience. Hopefully it gets them to go back and pick up the first one, I still feel it's a little better than VLR.

Don't worry, you don't need to comprehend the color system, the other characters will list who will go through each door. All you need to do is check the flowchart to see which one you want to go through.

Pinball Arcade should be up in US PS+, and I thought EU already had it a while ago.

Any good Youtube links that sum up 999? Already started VLR interesting / fun so far.

This is not something I wanted to read at the top of the page.

You basically played Chapter One of a game and gave up

PLEASE NO ONE READ WIKI TO SOLEY FIND OUT ABOUT 999 FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST

Play once. Use a guide to help you from there one.

NO WIKI

People are robbing themselves of so much.if they read a Wiki.

Read the Wiki once your done - YOU WILL WANT TO THEN!

No one post the "Something is wrong on the internet" meme now, as there is something wrong this time, and I need to fix it!!

I'm sorry, but I really really hate replaying games. Don't do it (discounting a couple classics like FFIX, which I have done a couple times during, oh, the last 13 years or whatever).

Forcing a player to replay the game over and over, including all those damn puzzles, is a fucking retarded and frustrating mechanic. Do I want to find out more about the story? Sure. Do I want to go through all the puzzles and all that stuff over again? Uh, no thanks.

If there was something that fast forwarded you to the decision forks in the game, then yeah, I'd give it a shot. But I don't have time to be playing through one game ad nauseum.

But the game does allow you to fast forward to the decision forks....

Except for the puzzles, but you can get puzzles you have not done before.

I also hate replaying games. That's why I aimed for the True End in 999. But VLR makes it so you can skip anything that you've already done, and you don't actually repeat any puzzle. Every decision leads to different puzzles.

No you don't.

I regret nothing.

Might not be the best place to ask but does anybody know if I can get hold of a free PS+ trial from anywhere?

I grabbed a few codes from one of the promotions not so long ago but I think they may have expired.

Thanks.

I think the first ending I got, I'd only seen about 25% of the game. It's built on the idea of checking out the different routes through the game's rooms, and experiencing the different conversations that might happen depending on who you're with. To that end they have that fast-forward feature, to let you skip over the conversations that you've seen before.

I strongly recommend trying to see more endings. I mean, use a wiki if you're stuck trying to find what you've missed, but you can't really get the game's story otherwise ;)

All this talk about 999, multiple endings and "required" playthroughs made me think of Konami's Shadow of Destiny (Shadow of Memories), a PS2/PC game which I absolutely love. I wish we had more games like that on consoles.

Interest piqued on 999 and VLR.

VLR isn't showing up in the Plus free games section for me on the webstore. I go to Games->Playstation Plus->Free Games, which leads to this page, which doesn't have VLR. If it weren't for this thread i would have missed it.

AFAIK you can only use those trials if it's the first time you're on PS+?
