Angry Joe: Major Nelson Interview (Xbox One) E3 2013

How much more disrespectful can you get to a fan interviewing you on your console...

You are kind of twisting that a little bit. He's not having a friendly conversation. He's criticizing the system.
I don't think it's right to grab the mic, but it's dishonest to paint this as a "fan interviewing you"

Are interviews supposed to be exclusively composed of nice, positive questions now?

He's been playing on Xbox for 12 years, and has never bought a Playstation. That kind of makes him an Xbox fan, yeah.

No...it kind of makes him ridiculous. He's into gaming enough to go to E3, but he's not into it enough to get a Sony product?

This is what has been bothering me about this whole thing. It's not a rational discussion...it's rabid frothing-at-the-mouth fanaticism.

What was Angry Joe's reaction to Microsoft's reversal? Did he forget all the shit he was being angry about?

What. Maybe you should read either this thread or check out his website or his YT channel? He made a huge video about it.

You're the one being ridiculous. He could afford all three consoles and a high end PC rig but being a gamer doesn't require you to spend money on all these platforms. Most people can't or don't want to spend money like you do.

Actually he was planning to get a PS3 earlier this year but is now planning on getting PS4 instead from his earlier videos in the year.

PM Joe on GAF to see what he thinks.

As an FYI, it was not a simple matter of flipping a switch for bam, no 24 hour checks, etc. The decision to change policies is a simple matter yes, but the reason the previously announced digital features will not be there for digitally purchased titles at launch is because MS has to focus their efforts on retooling the pipeline for physical disks with licenses.

So many presumptions and assumptions going on which make my head hurt.

You are doing the same thing with the paragraph right before you wrote that.

yup. it's a lot muddier than people think.

a metric ton of code has to be rewritten, services need to be cut/altered, the interaction of the BD-drive needs to be recoded, etc.

not only that, but a bunch of contracts most likely either got voided partially or fully with some publishers, so the legal team has to rewrite/rework the wording and publishers need to be re-introduced to the new policy statements and implementations.

there's a reason they dropped just about every major draw of interest that was tied to the DRM. family-share, playing off-disc, cloud libraries for all games, etc.

i feel really bad for the engineers/coders/people in charge of UI design. their jobs got a whole hell of a lot more difficult and a lot of vacations went away real fast. this kind of work...they're probably pulling something like 20 hours a day, 6 days a week. it can get pretty ugly timewise in those departments.
