Who do you think they lost? Do you actually know who was part of studio alex?

Let's just say that what if Studio Alex continued to have a fruitful partnership with GameArts, what would happen to GameArts in the end up to this generation?

The way i see it, Studio Alex is kinda like the tri-Ace of SE, only they're developing the FF series.

It's a coincidence, though. GameArts didn't work together with Studio Alex since the 90's. SA had never anything to do with the Grandia series.

Yeah I just saw that, thanks. I thought they were involved in the PS1 remakes. Although like what I asked, what if they didn't start suing each other and they partnered again and continued to develop Lunar for GameArts or better yet new IPs?

I have a feeling that if any company were going to outright buy Atlas for any reason, it'd be either Koei-Tecmo or Square-Enix. Pooooooooooooooosibly Konami but that one's kinda doubtful.

I really don't see Nintendo or Sony buying them. Though if Nintendo did I think GAF would implode.

Atlus' most significant output of late is on the DS/3DS. Etrian Odyssey, Devil Survivor, SMT4, Strange Journey, etc.

That is true, but Wii U is not the 3DS. Basically apples and oranges. I think them limiting themselves to one not so popular at the moment console would make things even more difficult for them. I think even Sony would be risky as well. Even a popular company such as EA or Capcom going exclusive to the PC market for example would be risky. Sure, their games would still sale, but how much would they be missing out on without PS4, XBox One, PS3, X360, Wii U, Vita, etc.

Nintendo fanboys want Nintendo to buy them and Sony fanboys want Sony to own them. Typical Persona 5 thread.

Worst choices:
MS (exclusivity to Xbox)
Nintendo (exclusivity to Nintendo)
Sony (exclusivity to PS)
SE (probabaly will make it an ios game)
Capcom (will give the rights to a western dev)
Level 5 might be interesting but I doubt they have the money. Watch Namco sweep in a buy em up.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't be happy for bayonetta 2 or that i won't be a great game, but imo bayonetta(the character) is different.

Imo there's a big difference between a bullet that accidentally passes near bayonetta's low parts(so you can see them, but it's bayonetta's "fault") and bayonetta doing sexy things on her own will.
Am i wrong? Ok, i have no problem admitting it if true, i have probably miss some slutty scene, in this case could you show me that? :)

I have forgotten that.
Bayonetta doing sexy things at her own will is all she ever does lol. Watch the damn video a page back if it looks toned down from Bayo 1 then I dont know what to tell you... weirdo :P

I dont care if they go exclusive or what, I just want them to survive. If its PS4 or Wii U-exclusivity it takes for that to happend, then so be it.

Funding Drakengard 3 makes SE not even close to a worst choice. Replace them with Konami and it's a decent list.

Lol, so true.

I just saw this tweet on Twitter : https://twitter.com/p_kouhou/status/350207574882254848

It's the official Persona series PR account, and they're saying: "Good evening. We're sorry to worry everyone. We are working very hard in order to bring fun games to everyone, and we want you to believe that. Atlus will live forever!"
Original Japanese message is full of beary funny talk. OR NOT, I HATE THE WAY HE TALKS.

I'm thinking this is nothing more than a bravado from the PR, but hey, it's something.

(Thanks RyougaSaotome for the retweet, wouldn't have seen this otherwise).

Quoted for justice.

I have a feeling whoever buys them will make them their cell phone game team. Atlus doesn't do AAA and that is the only option for non AAA games for most publishers.

as far as I'm aware all the actual talent behind the Lunar series has continued to work with GameArts, Kubooka, Shigema, Hino, Uesaka, Uchida all stayed til Grandia 2 and most of them are still there or have worked with GA in the last few years

I think honestly Nintendo is going to be interested. Wii U is floundering and they have just recently indicated that they are going to open the war chest to expand their operations - one way of doing that is buying a well known developer/IP like Altus. Sony has just barely started to make money as a company. Money-hatting a game and buying an entire studio is two different venture. I don't think they have the stomach to buy Altus unless it can be had at a discount, but if Nintendo is in the bidding war then I don't think Sony will do it just to get Persona 5 on Vita/PSx. Nintendo has much more to gain by taking P5 away from Sony and really solidify their position as the future of Japanese handheld gaming, and they also have the resource to do more with Altus' various IPs. My gut feeling is that Nintendo and Sony will bid it out and NCL will win. And GAF will be in full meltdown - bayo 2 x 100.

Atlus Direct stream incoming. If I were Iwata I would snap them up, if the main directors and producers don't leave the ship.

If that happened, would we have a #TeamReal vs #TeamCG Persona thread?

Metal Gear Solid V releases to dissapointing sales. Kojima pressured into taking the series in a new direction. With the recent acquisition of Atlus by Konami, Kojima knows exactly what to do. We get a high school based open world Ocelot Stealth/RPG with social elements. Ocelot and friends acquire Personas with the power of Nano machines.

Sounds like Atlus itself will highly likely remain but the other parts of the company that Atlus is attached too will crumble.

I understand the sentiment, and I know some of the other old-guard MegaTen fans around would disagree, but it's not like being associated with Persona is a bad thing.

I know, I have 3 Persona's in my top 5 Megaten games:

1. SMT3 Nocturne
2. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
3. Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
4. Persona 2: Innocent Sin
5. Persona 4

Also Dai we are on IRC now instead of Steam, haven't seen you in a while lol

Oh fuck, with them gone , this will reduce our chance to get game like Dragon Crown and other Japanese titles that would normally not make it to NA and EU :(

That is BAD NEWS .

Also Persona 5 :(
