Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

I hope they're only reading it for laughs. Smash Miiverse is GameFAQs tier terrible.

How many big macs do you think Little Mac could eat? Does Doc just steal them all, leaving Mac with nothing but hunger and ketchup packets?

Yes, when he was first revealed, I think even official sources (such as perhaps Sakurai, the official website at the time, or Nintendo Power) mentioned something about his blaster being out. I think people assumed that it would change his moveset a bit, but as we all know, Fox ended up putting it back in his holster by the time the game released.

There's also special "gun failed" animations for Fox and Wolf in their animation files in Brawl that they forgot to remove. Similar to Diddy's peanut pop gun full charge... It's possible that animation was going to tie into Fox having his blaster out at all times; maybe anyway. (Otherwise I guess it would have been used if you used the laser too much lol).

Obviously they scrapped the idea and went in favor of just decreasing the distance Fox's lasers traveled. (Which was a far better adjustment, though I think they made them go a little too short :x).

Anyway, I highly doubt they will change veteran move sets very much unless they were completely terrible characters (i.e Bowser). While Pikachu's Side B has seldom use for hitting, it's a good recovery option so it makes little sense to remove it in favor of some other attack. Sakurai can also easily rebrand/rename the move Volt Tackle and it would be up to date with Pikachu's current move pool in the games (not that it matters seeing as all the Pokemon in Smash have moves they can't learn in the games).

Also, the Pit render was just... the render, he didn't actually look that detailed in the reveal trailers. His in-game model never changed from the reveal and to the final release.

I wouldn't mind a blaster fail or cool down for falco's blaster :P

Hopefully fox's blaster range is extended or switched with falco's

Anything can change.

I also remember a big deal being made about Fox having his blaster out at all times (video), but that ended up being changed for release.

I do hope that Pikachu gets some more facial expressions, though, and I'm confident that he will.

Oh man that video brings back memories... I hope we get memorable trailers for smash IV!

Looks like I missed the music bonanza by a few posts, but I would love if Pokemon Colosseum could get some love.

Pokemon is a strange case. In Brawl, the Pokemon spinoffs are more or less completely ignored, only the anime is used for the voices and the console titles are used for the 3D Pokeball Pokemon models. All of the music is from the mainline, and there are no trophies or stickers referencing the spinoffs; in fact, every single Pokemon sticker is actually just official Brawl artwork of the Pokemon that appear in it (completely diametrically opposed to the anything and everything of the other series).

Melee had a single trophy from Pokemon Snap, and that was about it.

The Pokemon Company must have fairly strict stipulations about the series, moreso than Nintendo has on the other series (Sakurai did state as much before). Though I'm still not sure how Jigglypuff fits into all that, because it still remaining in the roster strikes me as a Sakurai decision, so he must have some clout on what goes in when it comes to Pokemon.

That's my little tangent on the subject.

So no music from the typing spinoff? :(

I feel like once Sakurai puts the effort into creating a character for one game, the Pokémon Company understands than fans will want to see that character back in a sequel. It was probably fairly easy to get the OK for Jigglypuff in Smash Bros. 64. If Jigglypuff had never appeared in the series but Sakurai wanted to include it in the new game, the Pokémon Company would definitely put up a fight and suggest something else.

I wouldn't bet on it.

That sounds like the most likely reason.

Lol, it would probably get annoying unless the fail anim was consistent so the player could know when they would get it with Falco.

But yeah Fox's laser distance was hit way too hard... while Falco's was left untouched despite how absolutely more potent it is.

If that's Megaman clashing his flame sword with Mario's forward air, it doesn't mean much because Zero Suit Samus' whip moves could clash with anything. This is because her whip is an article (which is basically an object that is considered separate from the character model such as Ike's sword, an article can also be a projectile like Samus' Super Missiles). ZSS' Up Smash could clash with aerials as well as her Neutral Air, her Nair could also clash with grounded moves which is very unusual as aerials cannot ever clash, only trade.

So Megaman's Flame sword could very well be just an article, which wouldn't be all too surprising. Hence how this clash happened.

I wouldn't put much stock in it confirming aerials clashing/clanking until we see it happen again between something like Mario's forward air vs Bowser's forward air.

Ah, I see. It's extremely rare for me to matching up with Zero Suit Samus user, since most of my friends don't really main her.

Wow, Mario's dash attack knocked Mega Man really high for him only being at like 23%.
This does not bode well for combos. Watching these videos are going to give me a heart attack.

They have to make it look exciting so it's likely the knock back is beefed up for the demo.

1. Not too excited about the F.L.U.D.D. Nozzle returning only because it sucks. Hopefully the properties change on it.

I'm sure they aren't finished updating the old characters, but maaaan will I be disappointed if FLUDD stays.

Holy shit at that horrendous comment.
I hate the wii u and 3ds now I can not play this game I don't want a 3ds and a wii u is expensive! Darn you Nintendo you idiots your smash fans want this game and they don't have a wii u now what u hope they make one for the wii in the future cause this is unfair!

A shame one could simply air dodge through it or not be affected by it's weak push...aside from rare occasions.

Oh yeah, your momentum could carry you through the spray most of the time. It was pathetic really. Sakurai should've just given Mario one of these:

I hate how Pikachu lost all personality in the transition to 3D in recent gens. It now has the same stupid grin on its face in way too many situations.

Shouldn't a wild Pokémon jumping out of the grass at me have some kind of non-grinny expression?

And now we have this...

It's either supremely lazy or an overbearing branding decision. Either way, I'm not a fan.

You can't tell me development was started too early to incorporate anything from Galaxy. Replace FLUDD with the Luma spun jump, or something with Star Bits, any even any dumb power-up from some New game, ANYTHING besides a water gun that requires charging to be the least bit effective and does nothing but nudge you slightly.
