I'm kind of hoping at least Charizard gets a new side B. I always thought rock smash was awful.
That move was great for bosses and made sticker grinding really easy.

exactly what versatility does pokemon trainer have
all three characters suck
the LEAST they could do for that character is drop the stamina gimmick, if not switching between three pokemon altogether.
i thought he said he would but with lesser detail.Sakurai said they wouldn't be doing Dojo updates this time around though

Because there has to be a downside to the massive amounts of versatility. Also adds complexity and raises the skill ceiling for the character, but in a subtle way. The player has to both internally track the stamina and also plan around it.

Zelda/Shiek don't have stamina...Because there has to be a downside to the massive amounts of versatility. Also adds complexity and raises the skill ceiling for the character, but in a subtle way. The player has to both internally track the stamina and also plan around it.
If the characters "suck" then the solution is to buff them, not dismantle the whole concept.

I'd like to bring up Sakurai's old Famitsu articles again because it's sort of interesting to see how his thought process has changed since the days of Brawl:
Since writing those entries in early 2008, five years have passed. And in those five years, Nintendo unfortunately hasn't created any new first-party IP. Sakurai was almost forced to work non-fighters (Villager, Wii Fit Trainer) into Smash Bros. or else he wouldn't have had any new franchises to include. Is it possible that he'll try to create characters out of the other series he's gone on record to consider important to Nintendo?
- Nintendo hasn't introduced a character-based series since Pikmin (I guess by "Nintendo" he's really only counting their internal studios)
- He says Brain Age, Wii Sports, and Wii Fit were big recent hits, but "I couldn't exactly turn the Wii Balance Board into a Smash Bros. fighter"
- Unless Nintendo were to introduce new action games, the amount of new characters suitable for a Smash Bros. sequel would be low
- Animal Crossing was the only character-based series since Melee besides Pikmin that he considered, but he didn't think Animal Crossing characters would fit the violent nature of Smash Bros., though he jokes about making a move set using a net and shovel
Animal Crossing
Wii Fit
Nintendogs
Brain Age
Wii Sports
Getting rid of stamina would already buff them.
And removing stamina and instead giving you incentive to switch rather than punish you for not doing so would be one way.

So "gay" his dream is to have a harem of women. They did release the famously "gay" Tingle game in Europe...Not that it necessarily means anything.
hammers on lunatic lol.

Well, Mii is rumored to be in the game. What about Takamaru since he could fit in that action game section.
#TeamAndy!Still need that Advance Wars rep too! I'm pulling for Sami, but would be happy to see Andy or anyone else playable.
Truthfully even in regular Pokemon games, stamina never existed.
Forced versatility is dumb. A swiss knife is useless if I'm forced to use the bottle opener when I want the scissors. Again - your opponent can force you to switch at will by just playing defensively. It doesn't add complexity, if Ivysaur has a crap match-up against my opponent and I'm forced to use him, there's no complexity involved, just a huge weakness that makes the whole character unviable. And it's SO easy to get f-smashed to death as a punish because you -had to- change your Pokémon.Because there has to be a downside to the massive amounts of versatility. Also adds complexity and raises the skill ceiling for the character, but in a subtle way. The player has to both internally track the stamina and also plan around it.
What's Pikachu/Jigglypuff/Mewtwo/Lucario's excuse, then?
See I want to say there will be a Year of Luigi trailer but we all know there's a good chance he'll be unlockable again and those types of character hardly ever get trailers (the exceptions being the third party characters)
If I have to unlock Luigi one more fucking time I'm gonna break something.
Unlocking Luigi and Jigglypuff is an ingrained part of Smash tradition that I really doubt is ever going to change. If I have to unlock Luigi one more fucking time I'm gonna break something.
I've never liked unlocking characters in fighting games and I hope Smash Bros. doesn't keep that tradition.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5kuZK5IxytE reggie doesn't deny being in smash
Make The original 8 unlocked, and force me to unlock the other 30+ people. gogoogogog![]()

Didn't Sakurai say each character will get there own special trailer before the game releases? That could be a deconfirmation for unlocking characters. However, that logic didn't apply to Sonic and Snake. They were special cases though.

I hope they announce a new character soon. The hype is kinda deflating slowly. lol
Edited: did miyamoto mentioned luigi being in ssb4?
There's still more than one year.
I don't believe so, but Smash Bros. would be coming out after the Year of Luigi anyway.
To add inNot including the delay.
Disconfirmed, people.
Yeah, I know it's a MvC3 meme. It's still dumb.
