I googled "NUKI EVO2012" and two beastnotes article came up saying he was confirmed then cancelled cause there was a death in the family. It's too bad.

I'd go to this local called GCE and support the event which he organized. He perfected FChamp and then beat Flux. Good to hear. Seemed like fun!

Was really weird to see gaffers calling it the worst tourney of the year and totally disorganized in the stream thread (people who weren't there and who have prob never been to a tourney before...frustrating), but the crowd didn't seem to be having a bad time. Other than technical issues and SFxT top 8, it was pretty fun to watch from start to finish. That Rog vs. Green Ace match in top 8 was one of the best Marvel matches you could possibly get.
 
The best part of GreenAce at CEO was when he did the Ryan Hunter to someone on incoming. Shit got me dumb hype. He was okay in Top 8 too, but I didn't watch it live so it didn't have the same impact on me. Good use of some of those Dante mixups I've seen KBeast use though.
 
PRRog's runback with Green Ace in top 8 was a legendary set. PRRog won all his games by attrition on time outs. This is PRRog.. the nuttiest, craziest, most YOLO RTSD player in the game and he has to win by fucking time outs.

Personally, what worries me the most for P4A is the fact that I'm going pretty much "cold" and on training mode alone. I don't have a PS3, so the online is dead as hell and if I do find a match the lag is horrendous, and my local scene now might as well consist of only me and one other guy (not like there ever was much of a scene). I wanted to organize some training sessions, but that doesn't seem to be happening...

Stupid GG netcode and its random connection failures. The connection was pretty good for the two matches we did play though Solar.

Nah, there were definitely issues, but nothing that egregious. Tournaments almost always run late, but CEO did run later than average.

I dunno if the stream showed it, but at one point during the exhibition after Ace got up because he thought it was to only to 5 or something they had an epic stare down. Like, Rog is doing a combo and feeling himself and looks over at Ace, who glances back and Rog leans in at him and Ace turns to him for what seems like ages all while the match it going on. Crazy.

Speaking of crazy, I've not followed GAF much in the last few days but someone at the event told me the pool party got shut down (with cops and all) because someone shat in the pool. Anyone heard that?
 
Solarpowered: Ugh maybe this just isn't a good night to play. We can try again another day. Have never had so much issue with connecting. Usually it only happens once or twice and then it's smooth from there.
 
I want my money back, ASW.

I'm mad that I even like ASW properties nowadays. Those two matches were good, Joule. I got the sense that we would have had an awesome 20-30 matches if it weren't for this bad online effort on ASW's part.

No, it was just rowdy with property damage. Cops mentioned but not actually called.

I don't even need lobbies but just let me play the game Arcsys. I don't have much Anji experience so I'd like to get some matches in. Let me know if you want to give it a shot again on a different day.

There were a ton of shirt monsters last year. I almost signed up for KOF for it, and not only have I never played the game, but I didn't even like the shirt!
 
Why does FGTV always have Magus on nowadays? He can't compete with anyone every time I tune in and he's playing he loses like 20 straight games its painful to watch.

You might want to consider upping the number of rounds if we ever fight again. It beats going through character select and that corny ass green splash screen after every match. Oh, and expecting them to fix this? LOL

Such a shame because our connection was the most stable thing I'd experienced in this game. I was ecstatic when I stepped back and forth and it wasn't lagging. I even managed to pull off some standard training room combos. Then the connection went to shit for no reason...

You seem abnormally annoyed by it.

also yes setting the rounds to the highest amount is the best thing to do as it syncs up super slow. Avoiding going back to the splash screen is the best thing you can do with it sadly.

3/5 or more rounds in GG always feels a bit weird to me but that's certainly something to consider in this case!

It's more realistic than a marvel patch right? Right?! : (

  • The awful smell between the rooms and the venue.
  • Floridian tap water making me drink way more soda than I have in ages.
  • Traffic light sensors that don't activate unless you're right on the line.
  • Local drivers who don't understand this.
  • Flow of traffic on the freeway being 15 over the posted limit.
  • "World's Largest" gimmicks coupled with 50 year old exterior design.
  • Water pressure dying Sunday morning.
  • The awesome monitors they had next to the cage.
  • The booth with the Super Nintendo. Made $5 from a friend side-betting on me in Tetris.
  • The moment of camaraderie between Mr. Horsehead and the Mad Catz suiter.

I played a lot of Halo 2 online back in the day. My online experience in that and PGR2 was better than most of my online fighting game experiences nowadays barring SG, TTT2 and BlazBlue. I feel like Wolverine or the Earl of Lemons when it comes to online fighting games.

I'd be surprised as hell if the netcode got fixed when +R hits consoles. I mean, +R on the Vita doesn't even have online, and if they wouldn't bother there not sure why they'd bother on the console version netcode. It really is a shame, Arena has a great netcode to it, and then you play Guilty online... it hurts.

That's my experience so far as well. I've played some pretty long sets with Orpheus Telos, Solune and MasterMilk and the connections were quite stable. Maybe this time was just a unfortunate occasion.
 
Being an Orlando native, CEO was my first ever attendance to a fighting game tournament and I freakin' loved it. Playing Divekick was the tits and meeting a lot of the famous top players in person was fucking awesome.
