Control scheme for Killzone:

Bit less neck strain:

running is like Burning Skies huh, it was barely responsive on that game (down on dpad wasn't really good either)

Sprinting and walking should be just on the analog stick, like push analog stick lightly to walk and push is all the way to run, or at least let us hold X while walking to run.

beat Hotline Miami last night, those last few stages were soooo good.

a little confused on the story, but what're you gonna do.

super fun, i'm gonna keep it on my vita so i can occasionally go back and re-beat a level / listen to the music.

copped guacamelee - as if my vita backlog wasn't big enough.

Check out the HM Vita/PS3 OT for some story insight.

Tis super fun indeed. Take your time with Guacamelee for a less hectic, but no less enjoyable experience!

You can also tap circle to run, although that seems like it might feel kinda weird.

COD Declassified had auto-run like you describe and it was completely broken, lol. Down on the d-pad is perfect since it's just in the right place to push whilst pushing forward on the stick, wish Killzone did that (maybe there'll be different control schemes).

proteus? thats not even a game though

got that free in some humble bundle and its like minecraft except you do nothing

just walk around and wait for random stuff to change

there are SO many other indie games that would suit a handheld better

hell id take miasmata any day over that

or even Datura or unfinished swan

Looking forward to this month! Been tossing up buying Unit 13 and Ninja Gaiden for my vita, I get it for free! That, plus Muramasa coming soon, makes me a happy panda!

I will echo everyone else and boo at the memory card prices >_<

Official Hori grip is decent.

Did you import Muramasa?

Yeah, really dying to play it, I wont be able to use the DLC whenever it comes out, but if its worth it I'll buy it over here if it ever comes out!

Ah okay nice, thought I missed a localisation announcement or something. Have fun with your import. Importing stuff is fun isn't it. Just ordered the PDP grip as well from amazon US (lets you do it with that item) and the waterfield case....which was super pricey...and I don't think will fit either of my 3 nice grip accessories :'(

There will also be a grip without a vita...seems a shame.

Btw anyone have a list of adhoc vita games?

I know, PSASBR has it, LBP DOESN'T (:'()...any cool ones? I'm pretty sure NFS:MW won't.

--also how do people carry their vitas (outside) with a grip? And which grip :)

On the one hand I'm grateful this gen has been way more import friendly, no need to mod etc. On the other hand though, I'm fed up with missing out on some key games in my region.

It isnt just games either, TV shows take forever to "release" over here aswell,

I just dont deal with it well, because I am from Canada, I usually didnt have to wait for anything, and anything USA got, I got lol

Welcome to Australia, where I now pay nearly double for everything months later :P

Adhoc Games, Soul Sac and Ragnarok Oddysey do. Thats all I know of personally!

Gamers know Aussies have it pretty tough I think. Seen those ridiculous prices. Something about higher minimum wage and all but yeah, it still seems super steep. Probably trying to discourage video games with high taxes.

10 hours in and i'm getting the "flow" of persona 4 1 - school, work, clubs, friends, go into tv, goho-m, repeat.... pretty awesome.

Galactic Punt is one of the best moves in video game history. I need a high quality gif of the whole thing.

Btw anyone have a list of adhoc vita games?

All my fighting games have Ad-Hoc (UMV3, SFxTK, MK9, GGXX, DOA5+ and BB:CSX), also Sports Game as well (VT4 and Wipeout 2048). Soul Sacrifice, DW: Next and Ragnarok Odyssey have as well. Disgaea 3 have a Ad-Hoc someting.

Does anyone have the patch notes for Silent Hill: Book of Memories?

I'm considering it, but only if they ironed out the bugs.

I was wondering when I would get used to the flow in Persona 4.. I am right at the point where I choose what to do and I am constantly afraid that I am going to miss something or make a mistake.

Don't be afraid of mistakes, you shouldn't be trying to max out social links in the first playthrough. Just play in a way that most fun for you while making sure to do the proper rescuing bits.

Thanks - I just realised that's one other advantage digital has over retail other than convenience, means you don't have to rebuy the game for adhoc play.

Just about to try it out with CoD.

So that's:

SFxT
MK9
GGXX
DOA5+
BB
Soul Sacrifice
Wipeout 2048
VT4
COD
DW
Disgaea 3
Ragnarok Odyssey
ModNation racers
Asphalt junction

And there is a whole lot more here:

Although one mistake I noticed is that Unit 13 ended up not having adhoc despite being advertised - removed the ones I added to the list due to that but it's still a pretty long list, seems okay.

One problem - killzone mercenary, no adhoc. Couple that with no bot mode and the lack of confirmed AI difficulty settings...it's seeming a bit poor in consideration to being a portable title. I'm going to tweet them to ask if they at least have multiple difficulties so the AI is more of a challenge.

Fifa 13 does not either according to a EA forum post or two, which is a shame.
UMV3

edit - apparently pure chess doesn't either! nice one.

Sonic Racing does at least! Would be cool if it was with AI racers too, not sure.

Btw, I've been playing a lot of COD on Vita. Have no worries about 4v4. Truly, even 3v3 is okay! They designed the maps well, the few they had.

Ok, I'll do that. I know there are certain things you have to do to get a 'true' ending. Is that stuff worth doing?

....and he was a Sony employee.

ad-hoc play in SS was awesome at my work, hopefully more games in the future has this feature.

Glad he is an ex employee then :P

He really said that? That's nuts. I really liked the Office too, Jim wasn't my favourite but seemed like a cool dude. (no idea who he is :P)

Btw Killzone guys just replied to my tweet about Mercenary:

@ysrsfs Yes, it has 3 difficulty settings: Recruit, Trooper and Veteran. The harder the difficulty selected, the higher the rewards gained.

Hopefully they increase AI's aim in those modes...you'd think they probably will. Anyway, that's very good news to me. Takes a bit of the offline edge off.

And adhoc is cool for word of mouth! I put declassified on both my vitas and take it out one time while we're super bored and need to kill time outside somwhere. Keep them in the car or bag or something. And bam. Minds blown. Although 1v1 probably isn't all that fun. Which is why bots are a must with portable!

Pinball Heroes: Complete. Tomorrow

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013/07/02/pinball-heroes-complete-available-for-ps-vita-tomorrow/
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XoOzg7oE6w0

We at San Diego Studio are happy to announce that a PSP classic is returning for your PS Vita. Pinball Heroes: Complete is available tomorrow on your PS Vita and no high score is safe!

This new release includes all of the original tables that are built around your PlayStation favorites. Whether you are hunting for treasure in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, causing havoc in PAIN, chasing the perfect game in High Velocity Bowling, keeping the princess fed in Fat Princess, competing in futuristic racing action in WipEout HD, enjoying the mix of creativity and speed in ModNation Racers, lining up that perfect shot in Everybody’s Golf, or proving you’re the best in Motorstorm, gamers of all backgrounds and skills will be able to find a table that suits their style of play.

But what fun is getting a high score if you can’t share it? In Pinball Heroes: Complete, you can post your high scores to the leaderboards and compare them against friends and the rest of the online community. With Leaderboard Challenge, you can select any high score from a leaderboard and challenge it directly. Scores are displayed on a per ball basis so you can see if you’re keeping pace with the score you are chasing. Completely dominate a Leaderboard Challenge by defeating the score of each ball!

Online Tournaments are also new to Pinball Heroes: Complete. Set up the rules, number of players, number of tables, and type of table. If mano y mano is more your style, you can challenge a friend to a Head to Head online match.

Speaking of sharing, you can now post your scores and accomplishments to Twitter or Facebook. Go ahead and tell your buddy from school who you haven’t talked to in years what a pinball wizard you are!

Everyone here at San Diego Studio would like to thank you for your support and we all hope you’ll have a great time with Pinball Heroes: Complete. See you on the leaderboards!

That's really nice, and I'll probably get it, but it seems very odd that the tables for those old games are the only ones there. There isn't a single new table? Weird. Oh well. I never played the PSP game so ill get this. Only six bucks. And it looks fun with playstation themed tables.

VitaGAF,

If we all team up and tweet Shahid for a Castle Crashers Vita port, do you think he could make it happen? I think we should have that for Vita since it would be yet another great game that would play great on the system.

so that what San Diego Studio doing on Vita after killing Warrior's Lair...

Glad he is an ex employee then :P

indeed, handheld is a personal and social experience, I'd never sink 50+ hours in SS if it wasn't for adhoc and taking my Vita to work, adhoc is very fun and really every game with multiplayer should have mandatory adhoc mode, it's that simple.

...

For now only thing I want for KZM is a better solution for the sprinting/running.

VitaGAF,

change that to A Hat in Time (dev already talking about ports) and count me in.

Hmm. I was reeeally disappointed in Pinball Heroes on the PSP. The tables were so empty and boring. Doesn't look like they've updated them at all for this Vita release, so I'll probably skip it. :(

They got San Diego Studio to work on a pinball game? It's not like there aren't already good pinball games available with Pinball Arcade and Zen Pinball 2. There also is Star Wars Pinball. They should have just ported something else.

so that what San Diego Studio doing on Vita after killing Warrior's Lair...

Well the original PSP game was created by a really small internal studio there. Since this is just a remake, it was probably made by just as small a team or maybe even smaller.

As much as I'd like this we need to stop asking for ports of games that are YEARS old. No one will buy them. Maybe a few thousand people but it's not gonna be a great success. We need games that are coming out in the future to come out at the same time on vita. Or ports of games that are only a few months old like hotline Miami.

Gamers know Aussies have it pretty tough I think. Seen those ridiculous prices. Something about higher minimum wage and all but yeah, it still seems super steep. Probably trying to discourage video games with high taxes.

The price jacking sucks but yeah it's not so bad with our higher wages. The worst of it is the rate we get media in general, games, books and video all take forever to get legitimate releases. I still can't get digital books on Amazon that were released years ago. Can't buy digital goods (games/video/music) off of Amazon either without a VPN. No Hulu, no Netflix, no HBO. Bunch of PSP and PSV games never see the light here either, and that's a trend all consoles share.

Outside of that though it's an awesome country and worth the trade off IMO.

^ That's really odd :S paperwork or evil government maybe ;) Long trip to Australia from the UK. Are you preferring the lifestyle/atmosphere there to Canada?

Hahaha does kind of look like Jim.

That's good news.

I know I'll be spending most of the time in MP but it's nice for replayability. Glad they finally confirmed it. Guess they might have thought it was a no-brainer feature.

Castle Crashers or Alien Hominid. Both from the same devs. (in case CC has exclusivity or something since it never came to PSN).

@Toto it doesn't seem too bad to run - press circle while moving. Or double tap and hold rear touch pad. Maybe it won't be if they haven't implemented it right and you have to keep doing it when the player stops near objects like in COD but you'd think not.

Also same, it's all about convenience with the Vita. It's what's getting me to play games for so long too. NFS:MW 60hours and counting. On PS3 for me, these days...no chance it would even approach that.

I really want to import it, but patience is a virtue. Don't want to miss out on that DLC. :c

True, would be a bit wasteful...!

Some games are just too good not to have a portable version of. A lot of old games that can't keep up with AAA PS360 titles would hold up really well on Vita.

!

yes he said that

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/disgruntled-former-scea-pr-man-lets-rip-on-twitter/0103417

“You have to question the priorities of the company as a whole – what [is] the point of AdHoc multiplayer when no-one has a Vita? Sony in general is serving too many masters. Each company should operate autonomously. PlayStation shouldn’t suffer because TVs are overpriced.”

Will Powers, he was a SCEA PR (winner of the tester too)

.

It just didn't worked well for me with Resistance Burning Skies, but maybe Cambridge can make it work here.

a more accurate statement would have been "alien hominid never came to PSN"

i was perplexed by his "never" statement as I was just playing it 2 days ago

Mortal Kombat on VITA is 5 bucks for this week on US PSN. I was wondering if it is worth for me since i already finished the story on PS3. I would purchase it gladly if the Online Community is still alive.

If you want to play it 1p, then sure. $5 is cheap.

If you wanted a fighter to play online, please, please go with SFxT or UMvC3. Insanely better games and fantastic ports as well.

It was free on PS+ over here recently. I've barely played it though. Seems similar to console versions.

Okay, fuck those touchscreen fights in Dynasty Warriors Next. Everything about this game is great except these fights. They ruin the pace of the game and if the enemy hits you they can always follow up with another attack before your slow ass character has the time to recover.

Hopefully Warriors Orochi on Vita does away with this shit.

I actually found them nifty, mainly because it's the closest thing to (an albeit poor) Infinity Blade rip-off we've got for the Vita.

VitaGAF

I was lent a copy of Unit 13 by a friend, It had a code for an "Online Pass", I asked him If I could use it, he said sure, he didn't care as he didn't know if he used it already and didn't care for MP all that much.

I input the code and it came up as: Unit 13 (Product Voucher). It was about a 1GB file. I thought it was odd that Online Pass was that big...and didn't say online pass.

Anyway, I try the download and I can play and earn trophies, WTF is going on here?

Did the publisher include a free digital version with the physical one?
