Didn't Randy Moss run over a meter maid?
NFL: where the bar is now set at "he never murdered anyone"

Ran over a meter maid? He bumped into her with his car and she fell down. He didn't crush her. Was it bad behavior? Sure. But on the scale of bad behavior, it's not even remotely close to murder.

Why is that "awesome" and a "class move"?

They had no problem drafting and playing and paying a guy with a bad reputation. Now that he's toxic, they obviously don't want their brand tarnished by being associated with a multiple murderer. It's self interest pure and simple.
It's like Penn State tearing down the statue of Joe Paterno, except if the statue was actually of Jerry Sandusky himself.

Because while the Pats probably knew he was a piece of shit, the fans who bought his jersey didn't and it is a nice gesture to those fans to replace the jerseys. The fans don't want to be associated with him either

I agree. I think it's pretty shitty and it taints the jury pool for Hernandez. Yeah, the evidence against him looks pretty strong but he's still innocent until proven guilty.

It's BS that his team is pretty much saying they think he's guilty (cutting him AND taking his jerseys back). Why would any juror give him the benefit of the doubt when the folks who know him best won't?

His conviction is irrelevant. He was 100% in the car with this kid that ended up dead. If he didn't pull the trigger he was there when the trigger was pulled and he was the guy who invited him out and picked him up. A trial will be necessary to sort out the specific details but that he was involved in some capacity is not being debated by anyone. He'll have his day in court, but everyone is innocent until proven guilty, not employed.

Somebody at a Pats forum posted a google maps link that showed the distance and route between Hernandez's house and the murder scene. Man the description of the distance doesnt do justice to how close to his own house he committed this murder. He literally did it right around the corner from his own house.

The only problem with Hernandez is that he's almost too guilty.

This isnt the same map from the Pats forum, I made this one myself. Picked the guy up and drove him for 45 minutes just to kill him a 2 min drive from his own house.

ESPN has a good article about the relationship between Hernandez and Lloyd. It sounds like Hernandez showed Lloyd mad love. Makes you wonder why Lloyd allegedly was a threat to flip on him.

Tim Tebow tried to break up Aaron Hernandez violent bar fight in 2007

By Iliana Limón Romero | Orlando Sentinel
12:40 p.m. EDT, July 2, 2013

Tim Tebow tried to stop Aaron Hernandez from getting into a violent bar fight in 2007 while both were football players at the University of Florida, according to Gainesville police records.

Hernandez, then a 17-year-old freshman, punched a bouncer in the head causing a broken ear drum on April 28, 2007, according to the police report.

When a police officer could not find Hernandez at the scene of the altercation around 1 a.m., the report states he interviewed Tebow about it.

The report stated the following:

A waitress at The Swamp bar allegedly brought Hernandez two "alcoholic drinks," which he consumed but refused to pay for. That's when Hernandez got into a fight with a bouncer at the bar.

Hernandez told police [bouncer Michael] Taphorn got in his face and began yelling at him. As Taphorn turned to walk away, Hernandez punched him in the side of the head.

Taphorn declined medical treatment but the next day doctors discovered his right ear drum had burst and the injury would take four to six weeks to heal.

When the officer could not find Hernandez immediately following the incident, he interviewed Tebow and Shaun Young.

“Tebow stated that he witnessed the dispute,” the officer wrote. “… Tebow stated that he went over to try to help resolve the conflict.”

Tebow went on to say he urged Hernandez to leave peacefully and tried to make arrangements to pay the bill.

Two hours later, another officer found Hernandez and spoke with him about the incident. Tebow was present during the interview.

The officer wrote Hernandez did not appear to be intoxicated and was, “very polite and professional.”

Hernandez told the officer both he and Tebow had already called then-UF football coach Urban Meyer and informed him about the incident.

A day later, the investigator officer told Hernandez’s attorney, Huntley Johnson, he would not be pursuing charges in connection with alcohol served to minors at the restaurant, but he wrote, “it would be noted in the report so the coaches could handle it internally.”

Gainesville police recommended Hernandez be charged with a felony, but it is unclear how the case was resolved because all of Hernandez’s other juvenile records are sealed. However, Hernandez still end up punching the bouncer.

Tebow developed a close bond with Hernandez early in his career with the Gators, hosting Hernandez during his official visit before signing to play for the Gators.

Hernandez, now 27, has been charged with first-degree murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. Michael Fee, Hernandez’s attorney, entered a not guilty plea on his client’s behalf.

Hernandez also is being investigated in connection with a double homicide in Boston. The Boston Globe reported investigators suspect Lloyd may have been targeted because he had information about Hernandez’s connection to the double shooting in Boston.

A member of Aaron Hernandez’s family whom police wanted to question in connection with the ongoing murder investigation has died in a car accident.

The Hartford Courant reports that Thaddeus Singleton III, the son-in-law of Hernandez’s uncle, was killed when the car he was driving flew off the road and crashed into a pole. The car Singleton was driving was owned by Hernandez’s uncle. The death was ruled an accident.

Accident seems a bit coincidental.

Yes let's let college football coaches handle these things instead of the criminal justice system... worked for Penn State.

Aaron Hernandez sounds like a sociopath. The weird thing is, it seems like he comes from a fairly well adjusted home. His older brother seems like a normal dude from what I have read. Then his pops died when he was 15 or so, and between 15 and 17 he somehow became a crazed, gun toting gang banging murderer.

sociopaths can come from any background.

No Call of Duty for a whole week.

I don't like linking things to Clay Travis' website, cause I don't like him, but more on Hernandez's time at Florida.

Now comes detailed news about a 2007 shooting in Gainesville. ESPN has discovered that the only man not shot in the car that night described the shooter as a man who looks just like Aaron Hernandez.

"Cason, then 20, told police that shooter was a "Hawaiian" or "Hispanic" male who had a large muscular build, stood about 6-foot-3 or 6-foot-4, weighed about 230 or 240 pounds and had a lot of tattoos...

As they were waiting for the light to change, the Hawaiian football player and Reggie Nelson walked up to their car on the right side," according to the police report, which cited what Cason told detectives. "Then without saying a work [sic], the Hawaiian pointed a small handgun in the front right window and fired five quick shots. Cason saw Smith slump over with blood coming out of the back of the head, at which time the Hawaiian and Nelson took off running towards McDonald's."

Police attempted to speak with Aaron Hernandez about the shooting, but waited nine days and when they approached Hernandez he invoked his right to counsel. Pretty savvy response for a 17 year old.

Especially since that same day the lone witness to the shooting from inside the car changed his story, refusing to identify the shooters any longer.

Poof, yet another felony disappeared.

Guess we should look at Reggie Nelson, too. Has he stayed clean in the NFL this whole time?

I think they are going to use the football-brain damage defense.
If the brain don't think; he don't go to clink

PDF of the full police report on this 2007 shooting.

A very emotional black male, identified as Randall Cason, was screaming, "This is my fault!" Cason explained to me
that he and another black male, identified by Cason as Reggie Nelson, had gotten into an altercation downtown. Per
Cason, the shooting was retaliation from that altercation.

Sounds about right. I don't understand the mentality of fucking with someone who is so big and completely g'd up.

Cops: Evidence found in secret Hernandez apartment

WRENTHAM, Mass. (AP) -- Aaron Hernandez's home address was no secret after the media camped outside the massive house for days, and cameras caught him leaving, hands cuffed behind his back, when he was arrested for murder.

But police didn't know about his ''flop house.''

A tip from a friend of the former New England Patriots tight end led authorities to the apartment about 11 miles away. Subsequent searches turned up boxes of ammunition and clothing that police believe could help prove the murder case against Hernandez, according to court documents.

Hernandez's two-bedroom apartment, which went for $1,200 a month, was located in a three-story complex in Franklin, a few towns over from his North Attleborough house.

Police learned about it from Hernandez's friend, Carlos Ortiz. Prosecutors say Ortiz was with Hernandez and Ernest Wallace when they drove with Lloyd to an industrial park where Lloyd was shot. Police haven't said who shot Lloyd.

Police initially got the search warrant to look for Ortiz's phone. But as they spotted additional items in the apartment - including a box of ammunition on an end table - they applied for additional warrants for the residence, and for a Hummer parked outside.

In a bedroom, they found a white hooded sweatshirt, according to the documents. A cranberry-colored cap, with a light blue front panel and the word ''society'' spelled backward, was found on a kitchen table, the documents said.

Surveillance video showed Hernandez wearing a similar sweatshirt the night Lloyd was killed on June 17, the records said.

The searches also turned up a magazine loaded with .45-caliber ammunition and 11 boxes of ammunition, including .22-caliber, .45-caliber and 7.62 mm rounds.

Do you think they'll wait until the trial is over, to make one? A Lifetime movie from his fiance's pov might be interesting.

I can't believe Carlos flipped and gave up Aaron's hideout, but at least Aaron has good taste. yteicos gear is dope.

edit: SI has a list of stuff the cops removed from Aaron's spot:

A white hoodie “consistent in color and type with the sweatshirt that Hernandez is observed to be wearing on surveillance cameras the night of the homicide.
A red baseball cap worn by Hernandez to a nightclub on the Friday night before the murder. Prosecutors had previously said Hernandez’s anger at Lloyd could have been sparked by an incident at that club.
Five boxes of .45 ammunition (the caliber of the shells found on Lloyd’s body), five boxes of rifle ammunition, and one box of .22-caliber ammunition.
Keys to a brand-new Hummer registered to Hernandez.
Paychecks from the Patriots and Puma.
A bag from Kay Jewelers.
A valet receipt from the W Hotel in Boston.

A Western Union receipt.
A Hertz car rental agreement

The bolded makes me wonder if he had a sidepiece
