Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

MetaKnigh is great even for casual play, lol, he can evade the danger at will, grab the items faster, avoid stage hazards better, etc.

MetaKnight lacks attacks that can send multiple people at once flying though. Big, slow characters in 4p matches often have an advantage due to being able score multiple hits at times. Well, besides Brawl Ganondorf.

Anyway, it's not the first time that Sakurai attempts to create a fast character which isn't supposed to have a lot of knock out power, only to give a lot of power to them anyway, just look at Sheik in Melee, who rendered the Zelda transformation almost pointless. He just doesn't seem to be able to balance that type of character well. Although he isn't doing the balance this time, so maybe we'll see a different result.

Wario is the top of the pops tier because he farts, rides around on a bike annoying everyone and has two outfits.

I don't think people give enough credit to Sakurai. I'm pretty confident that he deliberately made MK to pretty much play like a boss character. There is just no way you can give MK all the tools he has and think "I think this guy will be merely ok".

This is how I feel about many characters from many different fighting games. Balance issues always crop up in fighting games.

Vergil in MvC3 for example.

As I replay Kid Icarus: Uprising, i'm immediately reminded of why I thought this game is a masterpiece. There's plenty of good that can be said about that game, but the thing that stands above everything else is the fantastic set of characters. Seriously, KI:U arguably has the best set of Nintendo characters.

I'm at a point of no return guys, if KI:U doesn't get enough exposure in the next smash game, I'll lose it.
Incredible game, we really need a
WiiU
sequel

I knew MetaKnight had been banned because someone made a thread about it on GAF. That didn't happen when he was unbanned.

I don't think it was intentional, but rofl at MetaKnight. Like, really ROFL at MetaKnight.

- All his B-moves are okay-to-broken recovery moves
- All his sword attacks are "transcending priority" moves. Basically, they don't connect with any other moves, they always win, period
- All his aerial moves are fast and don't have any lag
- ...Except for his grounded Up-B... which has invincibility frames, rofl
- Uber quick, easy to spam, effective KO moves like d-air and d-smash
- Tornado
- Shuttle Loop's STUPID knock-back even at really low % and safety (arguably the best move in the game)
- Infinite tilt locks
- Infinite cape glitch
- The best gliding in the game
- Impossible to edge-guard
- Not bad match-ups at all, not even one
- His lag-less aerials are amazing momentum-cancel tools which means he can live until really high % for such a light character
- You really can't do anything a good planking MetaKnight (see: M2K's team technique with Lucario)

Lol. Lol at whoever thought any of those was a good idea.
Let me add one thing to this list: He's supposed to be easy to KO vertically as a floaty, light character, but there are hardly any good Up Smashes in the game.

Have you guys noticed the amount of ducking and dodging we've seen in the screenshots and videos so far? I remember specifically seeing Megaman duck below some attacks. Any chance that kind of play becomes a thing this time around? A high/low system in smash sounds pretty ridiculous haha but I think I might love it if it juiced close combat encounters

2. There's an alarming number of MK players such as M2K who is extremely important to their scene where if MK was banned, he wouldn't go to those tourneys with him banned. And their international competition also had a few MK players, so if MK was banned they likely wouldn't show up to any of their big international tourneys.
Jeeze, this is pretty much the stupidest reason I've ever heard for doing anything. Hey, let's ruin something because some people can't handle liking more than one thing at a time!

Alright, I just saw it at other forum that people are expecting a new character tomorrow, so I seriously doubt that we will get one tomorrow.

Tomorrow? Any particular reason? If not, that's hilarious,

Reasoning and a link to the post please? Thanks.

Basically, they assumed that from what Sakurai said about new picture on Miiverse.

"Pic of the day.
New combatants join the fray."

Basically, few people assumed that three characters were staring at a newcomer character, so they believed that the picture is follow-up picture to new character announcement tomorrow.

Oh yeah okay.

No freaking way

Well, that is some leap of logic.

Um, that clearly means that the three revealed newcomers are in the same picture together. Some people really are desperate for news, lol!

To be laughing, you sound pretty salty.

I read on the net that the cast of Cheers is in Smash.

Chibi-Robo isn't too small, but Ridley is too big. Hmmmm.

Namco lol.

Though Super Mario 3D World and Wind Waker HD looks really crisp in the screenshots.

Wind Waker looks great in person too. Got to play Mario Kart 8 at a local Best Buy and was impressed with how solid that looks in motion too.

Man, Wii Fit Trainer can get it. I want to explode from Mega Man's and Villager's cuteness too!

The art style of this game is incredible.. Please don't let us down with online :\

Salty because I know what makes MetaKnight OP? Sure I guess.

It's genuinely funny if those were actually planned and no one thought it'd be a bit too good :P

Honestly, I don't think MK's overpowered moves were intentional. Maybe they tried to compensate his shitty final Smash...but who knows. At this point, i don't even care anymore. Brawl's online was shit and my friends and I never used him because of how broken he was.

Yeah I'm going out on a limb here and say that any game announced this past year, or at the very least in the past couple of months, has absolutely no influence on Smash roster decisions. I think it's long since past time to look to new game announcements for possible sources of influence.

Chibi-Robo isn't too small, but Ridley is too big. Hmmmm.

I remember seeing Olimar on the dojo for the first time. Before I scrolled down I assumed one would control a swarm of Pikmin with Olimar at it's center. Giant Olimar looked so unnatural to me for all of 3 seconds. I'm pretty sure smaller Ridley would require even less time to adjust to in the minds of Smashers.

True, his Final Smash was pretty awful. But plenty of the lower characters have really bad Final Smashes too :( Overall the balance is piss-poor. I remember reading Sakurai alone did all the balancing or something like that.
