I have returned from a screening. The movie was great! Everything I wanted. Heart racing action and scale. You are put directly into a crisis situation and the characters all work well. As Del Toro says it's an adventure movie. It's not mindless action.

Anyone who is hyped for this will love it. I guarantee it. While i was hyped for Man of Steel and left a little disappointed...here not so! I only got to see it in a regular RealD 3D screen and have booked opening day IMAX. See it on the biggest screen you can.

The trailers and TV spots haven't shown ANYTHING at all. I have no idea how they kept so much hidden.

Okay, you got me hyped!

Anyway, hearing Ellen's voice (GladOS) makes me hope that Del Toro was smart enough to ask Valve to work on InSane.

Something I don't understand is how is that robot, which is like 300 feet tall carrying a cargo ship which normally is over 300 feet long like it was some sword.

I'm still excited for the film and will see it opening weekend, but this trailer was not my cup of tea. It set you up to expect some sort of linear progression so you could better understand the story and characters and then it just becomes a quick succession of random scenes and heavy breathing. Granted, the scenes were very exciting, but the heavy breathing made me feel like there was some overexcited fan fapping off to the trailer.

The movie is a sci-fi adventure, you have to give it leeway in these things or you'll never enjoy it. Like wondering how Iron Man never dies with only 6 inches of metal between his head and whatever he hits. He should've died from brain trauma long ago.

It bugs me to no end why they don't explain inertial dampers. I don't mind science magic as long as it makes magical sense :P

The movie is a lot less cheesy than I expected actually. The characters aren't super deep like the Joker or anything, but you understand where everyone is coming from and why they are doing what they are doing.

3D was pretty good, so don't be turned off by that.

How many fights?
3 major battles. You see a few smaller battles and glimpses as well.

Haven't you seem those Japanese robot toy things with swords that are larger than their bodies?
