Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

Any news on The Walking Dead pack? With 400 Days coming out was hoping the Vita version would be here by now.

Yup, i was kinda disappointed to see that will only come out in later august.

This and news that chaos ring is getting ported from ios to vita.

I bought the vita since i thought it was my fix for good, more "real" games so i wouldn't get ios casual game fatigue.

But it all this indie games that we have tons on ios, and now the news of walking dead coming one month later than the ios version and even limbo came out at half the price of the vita version the vita isn't getting me away from my tablet gaming as i think it would.

Let's hope my muramasa copy gets soon to my house. xP

EDIT: AWIIIII!! TOP OF PAGE TIME!!!!
Get sonic all star racing tranformed for your wacky races needs, game is awesome, should get more love xP.
And Hotline Miami for hardcore gaming brutality mode, also using the knife never gets old in that game. xD

Update to my Pinball Arcade complaints on the previous page:

Far Sight apparently offers a discount on the season 2 pass for iOS customers if they've already bought packs 11 &12. Nothing for PSN that I know of.

Also, to my surprise, even though pack 13 is the newest pack on sale today, buying season 2 unlocks pack 14 early. So 4 new tables ftw and they're all pretty great. The authentication bug was just something on my end, and is gone now... musta just needed to take a break after all that app limit BS.

My vita has just arrived, I managed to get the Vita + 8gig card and 10 games bundle for £150.

Since I have a PS3, I also have a big backlog of Vita games from Playstation plus, I dont even know where to start heh.

I might do Uncharted first, as that bugger is taking up half my memory card.

5 PSM games to round out my PSM/mini-Tetris bubble:
Bike Rider DX (great)
rymdkapsel (crazy good)
Gun Commando (finally... but wont work. Never leaves title splash screen. 1.11 PSM bug?)
Forevolution (will try in the morning)
Super Crate Box (been meaning to buy since PSM started)

Rymdkapsel is pretty damn good, huh. I never marathon sessions, just do a bit here and there and it keeps pretty fresh.

Forevolution is...hmm...it's interesting, but I wouldn't say it's 'good'. There's not much control to the management of lifeform proliferation, outside of killing creatures to divert nutrients into other lifeforms in proximity.

I'm still hankering for a real SimLife or some such on a handheld - or even a phone! - but as it stands, the closest we've got is Topia on iOS and even then, it's not much more than a terrain deformation tool.

Guess I'll never get my proper digital terrarium. And the less said about that horseshit of IAP masquerading as a game Ecolibrium, the better.

Yeah, I try to just keep a lot of go-to time killers and relaxing games on hand like this, so I'll definitely be playing it in small bursts here and there. It's like this crazy, 2000 AD RTS Don't Starve. Worth the price tag.

Keeping a stockpile of stuff like that is why I hit my limit I guess. I need all my fixes to be there when I want them, though..

I've contemplated buying Sim City 2000 off the PSOne classics... that was how I experienced that game, but the load times were harsh and so were the isometric controls.Might quench the bug for a life game but would be tough to enjoy after playing much smoother stuff with touch intefaces etc plus you gotta leave it on and growing/earning all the time.

Looks like my Vita has caught the download pausing bug. Download pauses when it goes to sleep by itself. :(

Mine seems to do that at certain times too. To keep track of whether the game is downloading or not, I turned of all notification alerts in the settings, and glance at the blue PS light at intervals. When you're downloading something, and you put the system to sleep, the light should remain on. If it switches off, that means the download has paused. The download can pause at any time, so you have to keep checking for the light. Turning off all notification alerts stops any other application from turning on the light.

Not a fix, but it saved me a lot of frustration.

Just wanted to say that Velocity looks amaze-balls on the vita and plays wonderfully too!!

This and Hotline Miami are my go to games ATM.

Oh. My. GLOB. What do I play?!

Been hooked on Hotline Miami, getting little bursts of play in when I can. Then I made the mistake of picking up Velocity Ultra. Between the two of them, my action bug has been quelled with these beauties.

I can't wait to try to Plat VU. I can just imagine all the madness that is about to happen..

the closest we've got is Topia on iOS and even then, it's not much more than a terrain deformation tool.

And there I thought I would never run in to anyone else who has this "game"! It's a fun diversion for me, but I never put any serious time into it. I always think of the possibilities, but then I realize all that time could be spent on other games, and then usually go play them.

Muramasa Rebirth+Hotline Miami+Velocity Ultra for me. It's a good time to be a Vita owner.

I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on Farming Simulator as well.

I almost passed on Velocity, because of the delays. The demo renewed my faith though.

I haven't been giving my Vita much love lately, which sucks, but I am out of school right now, so I've been catching up on games that have been sitting around my house for the last couple of years

Anyways, I have been playing a bunch of DJMax on my Vita whenever I play it, I recently completed Sound Shapes, I just picked up MLB 13: The Show cause I find sport games addicting for some reason, and I'm still crying that Ys doesn't have an official release date

Ys is coming in september 24th.

Im really excited for Dead Nation on Vita, they updated Stardust in a fantastic way for the Vita, So I cant wait to see what they do for Dead Nation on it. I love HouseMarque, I know they were working on a couple of projects so hopefully one of the others is atleast present on Vita aswell.

Speaking of Total Recoil, I interviewed the developer yesterday. You can read the interview here. For the person asking if it's a twin-stick shooter or tower defense, it's twin-stick. The game has a heavy focus on shooting everything and anything. It's on mobile devices for free right now if you want to try it out.

I have £5 on the PS Store - what shall I buy Vita bros? And no, I won't add any more credit.

For reference I own:

Hotline Miami
Guacamelee
Tactics Ogre
Super Crate Box

I'm expecting DJMax to arrive in the coming days, so to kill the time I've been playing a looot of Project Diva and have actually gotten decent at it now. Managing to consistently pull off Great/Excellent ratings on Hard, though a few note fumbles are stopping me from getting Perfects.

Given that Project Diva is my first rhythm game I've extensively played, I think I'm doing alright.

Rymdkapsel, Passing Time, and Cytus Lambda on PSM are all good pick ups imo.

On PSN proper I would buy Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery, Mutant Blobs Attack, or Thomad was Alone. Im in the US though so im not positive whats available for you, or pricing

well thats allot of garbage, I really wish Gamestop would not date games until they have it offical. Their date is a weird place holder.

I agree and a bunch of retailers have different "release dates" for the game. I'm just hoping that the game actually comes out in 2013

Yup, im also one of those few that are actually excited for dead nation as well

Muramasa finally shipped. Damn, a whole week later.

Oh yeah, I just bought a 3DS XL *runs away*

I caved too. Couldn't resist the allure of Animal Crossing. After messing with the device for a while though it really shows how much better the Vita is in both design and performance.

It appears that my P4G cartridge has this weird thing where my Vita sometimes crashes when starting an app (not necessarily P4G itself) while my P4G cartridge is in. It just stalls at the app's initial loading screen and I have to hard reset my Vita.

Needless to say it's getting pretty annoying. Not sure what to do.

I'm 99% sure that the P4G cartridge is the culprit because I stopped playing P4G for a while and the issue stopped happening, then recently I've put it back in my Vita and it just happened again today when I started Hotline Miami.

About that - I want to to have a word with a moron at Sony who decided it's good idea to have shops in national languages and then to require everyone to provide description in those languages before release.

If you make this mandatory then send someone from local subsidiary to do it.

My son is playing it now and it sounds like he is really enjoying it.

Edit: Kung Fu Rabbit, not NGS+ as he is only 6 years old.

PRAISE BE TO PS+!

Anything I should know about Ninja Gaiden Sigma before I jump in?

Don't stand to close to brick walls when playing it and make sure there's something soft for your Vita to land when you want to throw something out of frustration :D

Good stuff - I'll have a poke through some PSM stuff now - fuck, this handheld is awesome.

How more of you don't have Super Crate Box I'll never know.

You will die. A lot.

Hahaha ooooooh maaaan that sounds nasty! Been awhile since my last NG game, so I'll take extra precautions to not do anything bad to my Vita. Thanks for the warnings hah

theres an optimal lighting/display set up you should change to in options - i don't know the numbers but a few people here do.
Oh, how so? Stock settings too washed out or something?

I want to pick it up myself, im afraid when I do it will get a native Vita release. Though i guess thats the risk you take with all PSM games.

Well you never know - Vlambeer do have Luftrausers coming to Vita so you might see SCB on Vita.

I don't much understand the difference though - I saw some of you guys complaining about Tokyo Jungle coming on PSM rather than on Vita. Won't it just be the same game?
