Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

Lol, it's probably not worth the stretching :P

What sort of stretching are you referring to? The small rubber section on the stock stick stretching? That is my main concern, and I'd like to pick up some of these stick covers I am hearing about.

Page Toppers - Velocity Ultra, stop the boycott avoiding it, it's a blast! Super Stardust Delta! Big Sky Infinity! Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack! Sine Moria (this goes for me too, still need it!), and lastly, Wipeout 2048 again!

I'm playing through VLR atm actually.
I'm 10 hours in, but mainly because I want to HEAR the characters speak. English dub is growing on me =P I expect to 100% it within 20 more hours haha.
As is it's my LttP GotY 2012, but mainly because I loved 999~

I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed VLR. I've never played a game like it before. I loved the puzzle solving. I played my first time on hard and got the Platinum on the first playthrough.

Kind of makes me wish that they'd port over the Ace Attorney series.

Wait... Fruit Ninja is coming to Vita?

There's micro-transactions for it on the store, but no game yet. Maybe next week; SCEE seem to be having this problem a lot recently.

easy money for the dev.

Why was there a boycott on Velocity Ultra? Did I miss something?

There is no "boycott" here really, but some people just don't feel of buying the same game again, other (like me) think minis is the better version or have more value (mini version can be played on PS3 and PSP).

FutureLab should've made a sequel on Vita and not wasting their time porting something already available and playable on the system.

The Tokyo Jungle that's coming isn't the same game as the PSN game. It's like a tactics game.

Also... people complain that PSM isn't getting high profile games and that it sucks as a service - but when it does people complain the games aren't vita specific. You can't have both, people!

Though Sony could solve this problem by implementing trophies and other things in the PSN API.

I have never once said anything about wanting PSM to be a better service. I've only lamented it's lack of PSN integration including lack of trophies. So I don't need to have it both ways, ser. I'm pretty firmly in the "I want more things on Vita natively" camp. :P

I don't know anything about a boycott, but I have decided not to purchase it because I do not want to support the bullshit SCEA pulls with QA and PS+.
I'll take it gladly when it shows up free on PS+ someday. Or during a great sale. But this week my $7.50 went to R&C HD Collection. Next week my $7.50 will go to SH:BoM.

I'd be perfectly fine if PSMobile releases simply offered discounts / crossbuy if a game got upgraded from Mobile to Native down the line... I'm sure the lack of trophies (and the bugs that come along with them) and PSN leaderboards help a lot of smaller devs get their games on the system in the first place.

But that shouldn't prevent bigger ones from having the option.

Ah I see. I'm not one of those who passed on it and am damn glad I didn't. It's a really fun game.

I did as well, the instant I saw the store update via mobile PS store from my phone. And I couldn't agree more, it's a ton of fun.

I see, I know you were one of the ones I saw that said that weren't going to buy it right away. I'm weak...I couldn't follow the cause...

Blah, hate shit like that, but at least it's coming.

Looks like a lot of the mobile titles mentioned in this VG247 post are coming true. Table Mini Golf, Draw Slasher, Farming Simulator, Quell Memento and Fruit Ninja. I'd say Castle of Illusion and Capcom Arcade Cabinet are definite "no's" by now, though.

Just got the platinum on Wipeout 2048, I had genuine blast with that game.

Such a shame it's the last ever Wipeout game to be made. :(

I never played the Velocity mini so I had a lot of fun with Ultra yesterday. Blasted through all of the stages, going back to get perfects on some of them is going to be tough.

I dunno if I'd call 'Hard'...hard TBH. Easy just has the others give you hints on how to solve the puzzles, which 'Hard' omits, and I have no issue with that. Really though all puzzles offer enough hints for the player to figure out how to solve them.

...and how did you platinum it on your first playthrough? You'd need to view ALL endings, far as I know, to get the Platinum ;)
I get what you mean though, but I think 'first playthrough' might not be the correct term you were trying to use.

At any rate 2-ish hours til I'm home...do I spend the night playing VLR...or do I dive into my PS3 games?

Congrats, any platinum wipeout trophy owner deserves respect! Was there a trick to avoid the grind for the multiplayer ones? I personally stopped a week after doing an hour session of the boring mp modes every day. Is there people still playing?

yup, people are still playing it

Wish I could get Kung Fu Rabbit right now instead of waiting two weeks. :-( I mean, I already have it on Wii U, but I want it on my Vita too.

There's no two ways about those trophies, either gotta keep at it or just skip it. They were frustrating as hell at times, but they kept me real occupied during a time where I didn't have much to play and a lot of free time.
Would've gotten them either way, though. <3 Wipeout

Congrats! That is an accomplishment. Each week I try to do some MP grinding. I know I'm on the high side of 30's, I believe. 38 or so. A coworker and I usually get together for adhoc once a week too, it's one heck of a game even with only 2 players.

do you play marvel vs capcom 3?

I do, I do!..............mainly for ps3 with my fightstick though. I can work the Vita version well enough, but I have problems with it. Mainly stuff not transferring from the console version. My Spencer/Doom setups don't work somehow no matter how much I try, and Iron Fist isn't quite the same either. The port has issues, ones I have emailed Capcom about, but I don't think enough people have noticed. Also, I can't MODOK on a pad! I need a stick for that, only way I can properly analyze!

Still, I'm down for a game or 30 (that's how it goes in Mahvel baby!) if you see me on. Send me a FR, or I'll shoot one your way if I get to it first.

i'll send you a PM

I can do doom TAC combos online, so its definitely possible (given a good connection of course)

Scoped out ebay and prices for 16 GB cards aren't bad, if you got good luck or bidding skills you can snag at around 30. A lot of reasonable "Buy It Now" options at around 40-45..

I think Ill pick my card from there when I get the spare change

Wait what? I was looking forward to a new Wipeout on PS4. That's terrible news. But grats on the platinum, something I will never have the patience to get.

But of course! I've tried MODOKs on a pad...his is far too finnicky. Gotta have a stick for it. I actually learned to use a fight stick exclusively with Marvel when it came out, it's rough going back to anything else. I try, and can do mediocre on a pad, but meh. I thought I'd be better by now, having the glory of Marvel with me everywhere I go, but sadly no

i learned marvel and SFxT on my vita, so it's actually harder for me to play on my fightstick

edit: from Craigslist. i was patient. kept looking for months. jumped on the 16, then shortly after on a 32. talked them down a bit as well
