Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Why samus in this game her armor without reflector?!

I want see character reflection on her armor :)
There are unfounded rumours the 3DS can't support the Ice Climbers as fighters because of its power. I highly doubt they are going to use up resources on dynamic reflections that no one will notice.

I thought FE4 was always the most popular FE in Japan?

Fire Emblem III has two Marth games for the price of one. It's double the Marth, double the success. It is the most popular and best selling of the series.

Officially, Charizard is as tall as an adolescent. Actually, they managed to get Pokemon height right for PT's mons.

Eh, they took some liberties still. Squirtle's 1'08", and Ivysaur's 3'03" but in Brawl they're about the same size (and half as tall as the trainer on the victory screen). Charizard's to scale though.

Didn't Sakurai say it wasn't necessarily Ridley's size (an easy enough fix), but Ridley himself? Like, his unique skeletal structure, the fact that he should by default be flying (instead of grounded), etc?

They just said they're having some technical difficulties with Ice Climbers, don't start speculatin that they'll be kicked out or drastically changed just for that. Sakurai has sort of griped about a wide range of issues throughout this entire process, I'm starting to think he's just suffering some kind of anxiety and venting and doesn't realize how amazing he is at pulling everything off.

Edit: Sorry for the double posting.

Charizard should be more than thrice as big as Squirtle if he were to scale, he's only around twice as big as one in Brawl. It isn't to scale either, even if it's still bigger.

I will be sad if they don't allow custom music after the huge blowup Brawl has had with it from modding it and still have complete throwaway tracks from other games.

And by throwaway tracks, I mean songs that are unremixed and just reused. Tracks from Brawl such as Checker Knights, Frozen Hillside, some of the F-Zero X songs, and so on. I mean it's fine for past stages like Big Blue because you have to use the original stage's music, but a new stage having reused music? Come on.

That's the aspect I hated most about Brawl's soundtrack. Tons of wasted slots on songs that were unremixed.

I didn't mind those unremixed tracks for the most part. Songs like Checker Knights don't really need to be remixed.

If Pokemon Trainer is as tall as Red is in FR/LG, then he's about the right size.

Don't know about comparing to the trainer, but he definitely isn't to scale with the other Pokemon. Charizard's official height is 1.7m (5'07") vs 0.5 m (1'08") for Squirtle and 1 m (3'03″) for Ivysaur.

Wait, what's this about the confirmation of Brawl's full roster coming back for Smash Wii U/3DS? That's... pretty surprising, if true. I was expecting a few cuts...
I think it was this quote:

On the topic of the roster, Sakurai noted that the 3DS version of the game, with its hardware’s technical limitations, would likely keep the volume of the roster in check, though no characters had been cut so far, and any determination to that effect is a ways away.

Sakurai said in the IGN interview that so far no one from Brawl has been cut. There's still a chance some will be cut eventually though, but he's trying to get every character from Brawl into the new game.

I hope Sakurai doesn't cut any character from Brawl. if he does, though, I think the first ones will be Ice Climbers. He was complaining about how difficult it is to implement the character moveset on two consoles.

I really like Ice Climbers, hope they will be playable on smash 4.

That means, Meta Ridley/Ridley, Petey Piranha, Porky and Rayquaza all have a chance!

The interview to me made it sound that no new characters so far had to be cut due to 3DS limitations, not that Brawl characters haven't gotten the pink slip. From previous statements it already sounds like Sakurai is weeding out some deadweight such as clones.

For example I'm expecting either Ike or Marth to be replaced by Chrom; former because he isn't as relevant right now and the latter because Chrom would probably control similarly to him.

It is also possible that they replaced Bowser's n-air with a sexkick, since he's supposedly more agile in this game.

All I know is it better not be Fair. If it is, WHY?? That was his second most used move (first most used being Up B). It was good in BOTH games, literally makes no sense to replace it if they really did. Talk about a janky looking kick, too. I'm really curious about it, if it really is Fair, because that kick looks incredibly weak (well it probably is in the weaker half of the move in the pic) and short ranged.

They managed with Charizard, right? I can't imagine it being too terribly different.

Well yeah, but Charizard height actually only being 1,7m and its stubby legs makes it easier for him to fit in, imho

Charizard

Ridley

Ridley would either have to be scaled down to be roughly similar to Samus in size, which would just look bad, or be overly hunched over at all times.

Not opposed to him being in, but I'm not too optimistic about it.
Incidentally, I'd like to see Dark Samus make the cut

Edit: It also kinda seems like Brawl Charizard has a shorter tail than Official Art Charizard, so he barely fits in as is

Just use the Ridley from the SSBM intro. Fuck the canon size.

What I get about what Sakura has said so far is that:
  • There won't be many new characters
  • Most of the old characters will have new moves
  • Each character will have unique dynamics to it

So I would assume most of Brawl cast will return with lots of new moves, there won't be clones or semi clones now and that even with the new additions, the roster will be close to what we saw in Brawl, near 50 charachers (counting transformations/pokemon).

That could mean no one from the Wii U version will be cut.

Yeah, That's what it meant to be.

Where did you get that information?

Maybe I'm reading to much into it, it's not new info whatsoever:

Link 1

Link 2

I mixed those up with what he said about "each character having it's own system" in the Direct and that's what it came to be for me. What do you guys think?

Maybe this will be a selfish thing to say but I really hope the 3DS version ends up being more like an experiment thing rather than the start of a trend where from now on there will be two versions of the game. It was already hard enough for Sakurai to develop the game for consoles to add handhelds to his list.

If this is indeed their plan.. then take Mario Kart as the base and develop both games with total different dates and not simultaneously like they're trying to do with this game.

Just use the Ridley from the SSBM intro. Fuck the canon size.

Same issue still applies with that Ridley, that Ridley is probably the smallest you would get while still having it look like Ridley size wise in comparison to Samus and it still looks like it would not only touch the bottom of a platform on a stage like battlefield but go through it as well.

What I get about what Sakura has said so far is that:

That looks like a kick to me :|

If they are having Bowsers do kicks now that would explain why he's stainding more still now.

Remember Namco is doing the game, so maybe they have some Naruto characters helping out. Most of them are replicating themselves and being used as code monkeys, but others help with production son don't count what Sakura says out :P

So basically, expect no balance? :P

Bowser's side-B was a good move regardless of it's suicide capabilities. It gave Bowser a fast, decently ranged command grab that does good damage and gave him more mobility options by giving him an infinite double-jump.

Of course, in terms of overall utility Yoshi's Egg Lay is by far the best command grab in the game. =P

My brother was way too good at making us fall to our death inside the eggs. We'd be fighting near the edge and next thing I know, HATCH OR DIE

Speaking of the green Dino, is there any specific reason his side b makes him helpless?

Outside of the very situational use of canceling all momentum he has, not really.

It's an awful move all around. It should get replaced by that egg launching move from Yoshi's Story. That'll have more use and give him an extra recovery option.

fantasy new challenger time:

Andy, Max, Sami from Advance Wars

Tag team style fighting like Pokemon Trainer, each taking some gameplay from Snake and mixing it with their own stuff.

Final Smash: Dual Strike - The next character in rotation joins the current character, and together they act as a double char, Ice Climbers style.

I just want playable Sami... T_T
