No movie has been universally lauded. What makes your folks more trusted than Kanye?! Kanye y'all!

Some people might mark it down for the plot or character depth, but it very much is a movie of this genre. A tight "comic book/sci-fi" plot.

I think it's everything Guillermo set out to do and if people don't like it then they don't like it. It's not going to be a movie that divides people like Man of Steel did. The Man of Steel discussions ranged from the theme, plot, tone, to superman himself.

Here people will either get on board for the ride or it's just not their thing. I don't like sappy romance, so I won't hate anyone who isn't into this as long as they give it a fair shake.

If I were 13 I'd probably explode; it's very much for young people and teens as well.

If this movie's as satisfying as people say it is, it's gonna get legs from word of mouth and media. I don't think the opening weekend's going to be anything exciting for this one.

My friends got to watch an early screening of this movie, and they thought it was good because it was so over the top. They came in to the movie with low expectations, even though I kept telling them that it would be better than their expectations. I am upset that I had plans conflicting with the time of the early screening last night.

Yeah, Gipsy Danger's design really grew on me after initially thinking it was rather boring. It really screams "Fuck you, let's do this."

I got the art book, here's some cool stuff:

Apparently Striker Eureka was the first jaegar del toro approved and was supposed to be the main jaegar but they felt with it's sharp lines and angles, it felt too cold and distant as a main character. It was inspired by bodybuilders in australia with a mean spirit.

Coyote Tango is the tallest jaegar.

Gypsy Danger is inspired by american cowboys and walks with a certain swagger. Also it's neck plate is inspired by dracula's neck cape where it protects the head from damage.

Cherno Alpha was inspired by heavy russian design and everything about it is custom and unique from other jaegars and feels more industrial.

Crimson Typhoon is the only jaegar that can kick and fights with it's three arms. They envisioned it's styled of fighting to using one heavily armored shoulder to block damage and the other two smaller arms to attack.
