Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

On the topic of music... I hope they get rid of songs that didn't really fit the mood of the game. Like Midnas Lament, while a great song, just didn't fit in.
I get what ya mean. Snowman on New Pork City was such an beautiful song, but man, it just didn't work as a song to use for fighting. It just clashed with what was going on the screen.

I was looking at Brawl trophies at gallery section and something got my attention.

I'm sure that everyone know that Animal Crossing is only unplayable series that have their own section. Guess who is the first trophy?

That's right, Animal Crossing Boy, with same costume as they used in SSB4.

Oh wow, your right!

That's cool.

He's on the City Folk boxart too with a female player who would be a good alt costume.

AC has such a big female following that it would make sense to have a female alt for him.
There will definitely be a female alt costume. I'm certain of it. The animations, lack of a voice, and "Villager" name all work for a female version.

That's cool.

That actually make sense that he would became trophy after got scrapped from being playable character in Brawl.

Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai revealed an interesting nugget about the Animal Crossing Villager in his Famitsu column posted this week.

According to Sakurai, the character was previously considered for Brawl. However, he was removed “in the planning stages because he wasn’t suited for battle.”

Honestly, I wish that I would look at Brawl trophies because if I did then I would more likely to put Animal Crossing Boy on my prediction list. :lol

I know there are several characters trophies that became playable characters from Melee to Brawl, so I'm very curious for Brawl to SSB4.

Speaking of having no voice, I can understand why Villager doesn't have a voice, but it always bothered me how Olimar doesn't have one either in Brawl. I mean, it's not like he's mute in his own series.

He never actually speaks or has any vocal work at all, though. He's not mute in the games, but he never talks in a way the player can hear, only the Pikmin do.

I just saw more murderer villager meme. I wonder how Animal Crossing creators and workers felt about that.

If Villager ended up being cut out of the game, then those people have to blame themselves for that.

True. They do speak, but I think the Pikmin made enough noise in Brawl so Olimar didn't feel completely lifeless. How ROB feels like to me.

Even R.O.B. speaks in Brawl, though. When you star K.O. Olimar, he doesn't scream or anything, and it's especially apparent if he had no Pikmin at the time. That always irked me.

"Louie!"
"Olimar!"

Remember that?

One line on switching captains, a mechanic that wasn't represented in Brawl? C'mon now :P

When you're actually controlling Olimar, Louie or the President, they makes no noises other than sound effects. It's all the Pikmin, and they kept that intact.

All that I wanted was a death scream when being star KOed. Is that too much to ask for? =(

(And using the "he barely ever talked" excuse doesn't work because characters like R.O.B. and Ice Climbers have voices.)

...R.O.B. had a voice?

And I was just saying him talking is kind of redundant and pointless when the Pikmin are already making all the noise, a trait carried from the games.

Since people are claiming avatars for up coming characters that we know are coming I'm putting my name forward for Geno and Goku

Yes, he did.

And I was saying how it was particularly annoying when he dies when he doesn't have any Pikmin. You just hear... nothing.

I don't remember him having a voice. I recall him having a bunch of sound effects based on the R.O.B. peripheral and a couple of the games, but no voice.

Been playing quite a bit a Brawl since the reveal. I lost my last save so I've been going through and re-unlocking everything.

The idea of the unlock wall is amazing and really well executed. The gameplay is much better than I remember. I played quite a bit of Melee recently as well and I definitely remembered brawl having far inferior gameplay to Melee. Playing now though, while there are certain mechanics/items/stages I'm not a huge fan of, it doesn't seem as bad as I remember.

I also realized how odd it seems (to me) that the "default" mode in Smash is always time, although I don't think I've ever played with a group of people where "Time" is ever favored over Stock.

After messing around with Project M, I really like the homage they pay to some of the old Melee taunts. Also, I miss that shout characters make when they are hit with a strong attack while at a very high percentage. That should come back.

YES! Oh how I missed that in brawl. Crowd cheers are nice but they have nothing on those screams/grunts.

They aren't going to cut him based on inappropriate fan-art, if that were the case we wouldn't have any female characters in Smash Bros.

That for recovery, but I think they also meant when the character you're fighting/playing as gets hit HARD at a high %, they'd make some kind of grunt or something.

No, I am pretty sure they mean the audience "oohs!" when someone gets hit and sent flying hard. A quick example to look up its the SSB opening where DK gets hit by Samus charge Shot.

Don't they make the ohh/gasp sound when making a surprise recovery after a hard hit...or falling after barely missing the stage while recovering.

What do you guys think the rest of Villager's move set will look like? There are really only six attacks we haven't seen yet:

Neutral Air Attack
Front Air Attack
Up Air Attack
Down Air Attack
Grab
Final Smash

We know he uses the turnip for one of his aerial attacks, but it's hard to tell which direction it's mapped to.

My guesses:

Neutral Air Attack - Turnip (it looks to hit in front of him)
Front Air Attack - Slingshot (his back air attack is a backwards slingshot)
Up Air Attack - Umbrella Jab (he already uses the umbrella for his side tilt, but I don't know what else would work here)
Down Air Attack - Net (meteor smash)
Grab - Fishing Rod (tether recovery)
Final Smash - House Construction (Villager pays Tom Nook, and a house pops up next to them; it's a bigger, more powerful version of the Dr. Wright Assist Trophy)

New Leaf introduced a toy hammer that would work as an aerial meteor smash, but the Villager and AC stage design both seem to be based off of City Folk.

I've seen people suggest bees as a Final Smash, but I'm thinking you'll be able to shake the Villager's planted trees for items with a rare chance that bees would drop out and swarm whoever shook the tree.

I'm thinking the net is his Grab and the Turnip is his down aerial.

Have we actually seen his Forward Smash or are we assuming the Axe is it? I think that could potentially be a secondary part to his tree move.

It was just an assumption, though I initially thought it was some kind of two-parter as well. Maybe if you use your down special move in front of a tree you take a swing at it? Hitting opponents with the axe might be too gruesome for the Villager -- it would make sense to keep axe use exclusive to the tree.

Down Special Move - Plant Tree
Down Special Move (in front of tree) - Axe

You might be able to keep, say, two trees on screen at once. Besides hitting a tree with your axe, you could also shake it in the hopes of finding an item. This kind of interactivity would definitely make the Villager feel straight out of Animal Crossing.

As far as his grab, I don't know -- the fishing rod seems like the perfect tool there. Cast the line, hit the opponent, reel them in, and then throw them in a direction. Fishing's also too big a part of Animal Crossing to leave out. A net grab would look awkward against characters like Bowser.
