I just listened to this podcast not a month ago, going to have to visit the Tiki Bar next time I'm in the LA area and have a drink for Ryan :(

It must be terrible for his friends and family, even more so for his wife. Sending my best wishes their way and thanking Ryan for sharing some of his joy and happiness with me and others via his work over the years. He will be missed greatly.
 
I've never met the man, yet he has brought such joy to my life. He seemed to love what he did, and loved to make others laugh. I loved just listening to him talk on any subject, as I knew that it would bring a smile to my face.

I will miss you, Ryan. I hope that he knows how much we all loved him.

I feel absolutely awful for his wife, and family.
 
I heard about this a little bit ago. I can't even...just shocking. Wow. I always had a hard time imagining the core four of Giant Bomb breaking up because of their great chemistry in their content and the fact that they're all friends. I knew it would end someday, but it seemed like something that was almost impossible.

And now it has been forced upon them because of this tragedy. So sad. And Ryan's wife =[ they just got married like a week or two ago I think. Fuck. I still can't believe this happened. And Jeff must be devastated. They've always seemed like best friends.

I didn't follow the crew at Gamespot much, but I've been following Giant Bomb since pretty much the beginning. Ryan was so fantastic at his job and just...damn. GB will never ever be the same. RIP.

My stomach is in knots. Always funny how there's certain people you don't even know that can still effect you a great deal when something like this happens. Still in disbelief.
 
This is terrible but honestly the GB crew really needs to look at some of their life choices.

Very tragic news. Ryan was always my favorite commentator on the Quick Looks. A tremendously funny guy who seemed to have a big heart. Rest in peace.

I live in boston and was planning on going to PAX East this year to see the guys do their panel and then hopefully meet them at the bar afterwards, but the work schedule didn't work out. I just figured I'd catch them next year.

*sigh* little did I know. RIP Ryan
 
They going to release any info on his death soon? He died almost a week ago...is it normal for there to be no information after that long?
 
Will always remember the time me and my wife met him at PAX. He and Vinny looked super busy and had a bunch of gear with them, but they still stopped to chat with us as GB fans. Ryan couldn't have been nicer. Super easy to talk to, super personable. Seemed like a truly good guy. He saw my Warriors shirt and asked where in the Bay Area I lived and we started talking about some stuff related to that.

Just wish I had gotten a picture with him. I remember regretting it, but now I really regret it =[
 
I never really paid a heck of a lot of attention to GB (I never didn't like it, just never really found the time for it I guess) but Ryan was the guy out of all of the crew that stood out to me for some reason.

Going to fire up the recent-ish episode of Idle Thumbs he guested on :(

I just read all the PMs I got from tons of GAFers. Thank you so much for cheering me up, it means a lot to me. I knew I could count on you guys, this has been much easier with you people.

Man, seeing this news during my morning routine sucked the wind right out of my sails. Normally it's wake up - hit exercise bike for 10 - shower - breakfast. In each of those steps I take the time to have a quick browse of GAF/GB/local news/other sites. I made it as far as GAF and the exercise bike before stopping in my tracks.

It is pretty amazing that someone I've never met, never even shared a continent with, has had such a profound impact on my regular week. Being a day ahead of GB meant that Wednesday was always my 'Hi everyone it's Teeuuuuuusday' and Tuesday was my ILM day.

The many great in memoriams that have been written this morning have all had similar thoughts in them, which says to me that Ryan was a very genuine guy, no matter who you were, what you had to do or how far removed your relationship with Ryan was.

I'm going to miss his highfalutin nonsense (I hope you read that in Ryan's voice; I've been dropping those words into every sentence I can this morning!)
