I mean, we've known that Smash was going to be their for a fuck long time, how did this announcement literally just come about 3 days before the tournament starts? Its mind boggling.

Was just about to ask this, why allow one and not the other? Apex has a fair amount of people watching...unless Apex manages to fly under the radar somehow. Could this have anything to do with Nintendos policy with LPers on Youtube? They cant monetize the stream? Very odd.

Nintendo is amazing video game developers but refusing to allow EVO to stream a tournament that will only promote their game and breathe new life into a section of its community... Nintendo is becoming more out of touch by the day and it's becoming fucking stupidly apparent. Something tells me that most of the higher ups at Nintendo don't know or care to know what EVO is, and that's cool, but it's not some fucking Youtube LP-er and you're killing a fair portion of the love and goodwill I've been desperately holding onto your company for ten years, and I'm sure, fucking positive I'm not the only one.

That would actually be a good counter, but I'm sure there'll be cosplayers and stuff there and I hope they can run with the theme and make fun of the situation in the lighthearted way the fighting game scene can.

Holy fuck, the game will still be at the show but it can't be streamed? And this close to EVO actually happening? Fucking Nintendo, this is the Youtube situation all over again. They probably think that EVO would be profiting from the streaming of their old ass game when that's not the point at all, people are watching because it's a competition and they want to see top players, I'm sure the organizers are more than able to fit in a different game and they did.

That's what I see now, but literally 5-10 minutes ago Smash Bros was #9 and Nintendo was #10.
