Oh, the score is great too! I was a bit worried at first, since the first action scene has Inception horns. But the rest is awesome.
The score rocked. Keep listening to that main theme.

what I find ironic is that a shit movie like the lone ranger didn't get a single bad press article from them, yet pacific rim which is getting great critics reception gets all these 'doom and gloom' articles.
I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but there has to be some hidden agenda there because otherwise I don't get it.
Just got back from the screening all I can say is this is a boys childhood dream come to life in the form of a summer blockbuster.
I saw it coming. *snip* The few people who remained for the credits loved it.Stay for mid credits scene too.
Hey Expendable, how good are the special effects in general? How are the monster designs?
Who is trying to kill Pacific Rim

The drama sticks to its tropes without seeming hackneyed (one scene involves visiting Mako's memories in the midst of a neural connection, which is surreal); the action's the best I've seen in a while, with breathing room and infinite amounts of destruction kept in the background; if anything, there's a great amount of world-building that implies numerous things about the dramatis personae and how people live, all without directly revealing these things. That, to me, is the best kind of character development for this kind of story, where the stakes are informed by rich context.
I hope you are talking about del Toro and not about a scene in the movie.Dragoon En Regalia said:snip

You got me. I'll edit that out, just felt like it'd be a bit obscure.I hope you are talking about del Toro and not about a scene in the movie.
Hit me with sarcasm one more time Chinner, I dare you.they are better in grown ups 2

the cgi in grown ups 2 makes adam sandler into a good action
How 3D are the jokes?
I hope its like inception and just slaughters.
If it does any telling of that sort, then I didn't pick up on it. My viewing atmosphere wasn't the best, so I've gotta rewatch sometime soon.Fucking awesome. Telling not showing is a plague on modern blockbusters. Glad to hear Pacific Rim avoids that.
Inception did have ridiculous legs for a modern summer film. Less than 40% drops for the first 12 weeks. That thing hung on like a beast.
4.7 multiplier was pretty damn good.
Anyone here from or in New York City going to watch the movie at AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13?
But it's worth it for being the only real Imax in New York City.Nah going to kips bay. Lincoln Sqr is the best theatre but so far from brooklyn.
