Any tips for the quest "A company you keep"? I have already tried 3 times and failed, the soldiers are no problem but I don't know how to deal with the robot that appears after the first soldiers die, please any help is appreciated.

I did that earlier today as a White Mage. I really wish I could give tips, but all I did was stay far back and let the npcs tank the robot while I killed all the regular enemies. Then I stayed back and did some light DPS on the robot.

Here's some screenshots I took today after I progressed the story and got my chocobo barding back (and made my chocobo ready for battle!):

Soloing a level sync'ed FATE with my tank chocobo (I didn't beat it on this attempt, but when it returned, I did):

What would be the best way to force AA with a Radeon card? I messed around in CCC, but it didn't look like much changed, or maybe I wasn't adjusting the right settings.

LTTP (played for first time on PC last night). My impressions:
- Storyline seems fairly standard, yet interesting
- Who did the localisation? Lots of 'bugger' and 'shite' and 'arse', haha, so "British".
- Controller interface seems clunky/ not full featured compared to keyboard+mouse
- The battle theme is good, so good
- The two inventories ('armor' and 'stuff') is different
- The few mmo's i've played before haven't had /emote quests as far as i recall
- Speaking of emotes, why is the emote button on the other side of the UI from the chat window?

I know this is probably a dumb question, but I was curious if I pick the Gladiator class will i be able to put a big ass sword on my back, or is it like permanent side sword kind of deal? Only reason i ask is this is my first mmorpg and idk If i can change position of where i want my weapons shown or not. Any help is appreciated.

Serpent Sergeant Secound Class, here. Almost enough seals for First Class.

My face when I didn't realize that the level 30 job or class quests weren't in beta. :( I'm level 31 Pugilist, and the only thing left for me to do is the level 32 dungeon and the third hunter log.

Time to switch back to my 16 Lancer!

Hmm. Tanking sure is a lot easier as a GLD compared to the MRD. Maybe it's just the style of the MRD that throws me off a bit. But this is all just early level nonsense. I need that lvl 50 perspective.

MRD (or warrior) tends to tank because they deal so much damage at 50, that enmity spikes.

EDIT: Also, unsure if this is the way they are keeping it but classes are more for soloing while Jobs (unlocked through various prerequisites and quests) are geared towards party play.

So I have to be a higher level to get to the last two available dungeons eh? I'm level 22 now... bleeeh. It'll take a while for me to get to 26 I assume.

i really doubt it. play a marauder or lancer and you'll get what you want (weapon on back).

finally got around to booting up the beta on my pc
looked so much cleaner than the PS3 version
but really not as good as 1.0
can't decide if it's worth giving up comfort for graphics now

obligatory costa del sol screen

can't makeup my mind which of these 3 toons to go with :/

has anyone else's ps3 controls been really buggy lately? mine have been getting stuck and not allowing me to press select to manipulate the menus/UI..

No idea how some people make it past level 15.. The garbage I'm running into using the duty finder is the most frustrating thing in this game.

I run with RL friends who are a tank and a healer.

But I feel your pain. Today, I went into Halital (or however it's spelled) with the Duty Finder to get something I missed in the Order of the Twin Adder Hunting Log. My GOD these people were terrible. Archer pulling aggro from the tank, conjurer pulling, gladiator not picking up adds. Was a nightmare.

Wow, I didn't know the beta even started. Guess I'll put some time in the beta with my conjurer.

I love being the healer on the team in dungeons, it gives me that feeling that I'm the only person really holding the team together right next to the tank.

No one in the FC to help out?

People just going about their stuff.

As soon as I see a DD try to pull or a conjurer spam his aoe cure, I just know it will probably be a mess. Hahaha

Are there banks/vaults in this game? My bags are pretty full, especially after trying out a lot of crafting professions and gathering.

I have a friend that has a legacy account. He's wondering if it's going to be reset in the next phase. I'm sure they're all reset right?

I think I've found what I really really hate about this game: unnecessary equipment roadblocks preventing me from continuing with quests. In pretty much every other MMO I've played, the designers lock access to quests based only your character level, and nothing else. But for some unfathomable reason Yoshida thought it would be a brilliant idea to lock off quests based not just on what character level you are, but also on what level equipment you have.

So right now I'm a level 10 character, but I'm stuck and unable to continue with the questline because apparently I need level 5 equipment in all slots or else I'm considered "too weak" to continue on with quests. What the hell was Yoshida smoking when he made this game? Why put in all these unnecessary roadblocks? How on earth is this good game design? The amount of unnecessary hand-holding in this game is ridiculous as well. The game treats you like an idiot too stupid to tie his own shoelaces, let alone play games.
