This one mainly just focuses on the features in the game. It also gives a brief glimpse at the PvP stuff

i'm not going to port beg. but i do wish it was still 30 bucks for each version. my heart was broken when amazon cancelled those two preorders. both copies for 60 was glorious. oh well, got it preordered for vita at the moment and think i will be quite happy. was really happy to see the game is much deeper than a final fight clone. this week's ign coverage really reinforced my choice to preorder. can't wait. gonna main the amazon on my first try. if it's too hard with her i'm going to go dwarf or warrior. then when i get the hang of the game i'm going to rock the archer. by then i may just go ahead and pick up the ps3 copy. don't mind rewarding originality with $100 bucks for the two. hell, i spend $100 bucks on collector's editions of "AAA" games all the time. and when i say "AAA" i'm not knocking dragon's crown, i'm knocking said AAA games.
 
This game looks incredible. Thanks to the shitty origins of it through Ignition it looked like a smaller scale project for vanillaware but it has clearly been shown now as their biggest and most ambitious project yet.

I hope the localization we get is as great as Odin Spheres was, that was fantastic.

To be fair Ignition were completely fucking over Vanillaware with that pre-emptive announcement and price. If they had made the game with the limits previously imposed, it just would not have been the same game.

Was it ever confirmed if the 20hrs required for story completion was per character or for all characters combined?

In other words, is the game a 20hr game or a 120hr game.

i do. beat em ups were one of my favorite genres when i was a kid. i loved final fight in the arcade and played probably 100 hours of it on my snes and sega cd. streets of rage also kept me busy on my genesis. hell, i even loved kung fu on the nes. one of my all time favorites. and this is much more than a simple beat em up. this is an action rpg/loot whore game wrapped up in a beat em up blanket. best of both worlds for me.

Hell I'm getting both versions, I'll put in 500+ hours on each platform easily

I will get all my chars on both platforms "S" leveled the fuck out!

Keep in mind this game wouldn't have existed without Ignition, but we're all glad Atlus is publishing in the end. Free artbook always wins.

PvP seems like a bit of an afterthought, but what's this about the trading cards... and more importantly... first footage of COOKING confirmed! :D

Depends on what they mean by "120 hrs".

If it just feels like they're stretching stuff you should be able to use from moment 1, to 20 hours per character of needless building, then not me!

If it's 120 hours because you have to play the same 20 hour story through 5 times, with little change to what's going on, then again, not me!

If it's a legit 120 hours of gameplay that refreshes itself with new wrinkles at every turn, with each spell and skill learned making you feel as if you just stepped into a new game, and enough enemy design and combat variety to supply 4 or 5 90's BEU's... SIGN ME UP!

If one thinks of the game as basically "2D side-scrolling PSO", then I think the
120 hrs" Idea sounds much more appealing. If one thinks of it as "120 hours of Final Fight 1", then... yeah, no.

Apparently, a lot of people. Weird how personal tastes work, huh?

Love the cooking screen/minigame, they always have to put some food in their games. Kamitani must be quite a gourmet :D. Seems hectic (and probably a riot) with four players, though!

Actually, to answer your question, it seems it was confirmed to be 20 hours per character. I'm expecting insane amounts of repetition, but if the game is good enough I don't mind (I mean, how many goblins, kobolds and gnolls have I slaughtered in Mystara?).
 
I hope the Australian rating for PAL territories turns out to be true. NISA is apparently publishing it in the EU/AU. They are on a roll, I'm buying 5 titles from them this year.
 
Does this have online co-op or local only? I kinda wanna get it on Vita but I don't have anyone to play with locally at all.

Online on both systems. But only with people on the same system. However, you can copy your save between versions, to play the same characters.

Just a little more than three weeks left! Can't wait. Hopefully some English equivalent to the trailer will pop up soon.

I'm hoping to get some high-resolution shots of some of that new art in the trailer, too.

Both. But Vita players can only play with other Vita players. No cross-play between the PlayStation 3 and Vita version. It does feature cross-save, though. Edit: Beaten by mere seconds!
