Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

Hey, stabbing a dude in the crotch is no laughing matter.

"Multi Platform"..hmmmm, interesting.

I guess there will be a PS3 version soon, typical Yoshida. oh well ..first on Vita is good enough I think.

Is Spelunky really coming next week? Instabuy without question if so.

With Geronimo Stilton coming over I'm still a bit surprised Sony hasn't put up the Invizimals PSP games on PSN in North America. The last one wasn't even published here.

Has Square Enux said anything about Final Fantasy 10/2 for the Vita yet? Everything I've read this far only talks about the PS3 version.

What are you asking for them to talk about? A Vita version of those games exist. They've shown footage of it running on Vita, and the games will be released separately on that platform instead of in one collection.

Nah, doesn't mean anything. Nearly every game rated by the Australian classification board is listed as multi platform, because they're super lazy.

Super Mario Galaxy and Uncharted 3 for example.

oh so it's just laziness and they don't write the platform name, thanks you for clearing that.

Anything really; I honestly thought it was cancelled since I haven't heard anything about the Vita version.

I may be wrong about this as I never owned a psp, but I thought the reason the PSP invismals never came to the US was because we never got the camera that went with it for it to work in the first place?

Kind of a shame as I am becoming somewhat interested in the Vita game. Im still unsure how some of the mechanics work, but it looks like it could be pretty cool overall.

It was at E3 on the show floor, running on Vita so SE not promoting it is just SE being themselves when it comes to Vita. Considering they are shifting to a primarily mobile game company though I expect to see less support for them outside of phones, and a few larger console games a year.

Could release a browser game in between if japan gets really lucky.

next week or the week after according to an unconfirmed ad, they announced the pc release date as august 5 i think, so at the very least we can use that as a guidepost of when their exclusivity contract with MS ends.

Why are you guys so surprised by Killzone's AU rating?

i'm australian and i dont really have a problem with it, all states now have R18, and to be fair Killzone 3 and KZM have some pretty over the top gratuitous executions that i reckon probably belong in that category.

Divekick could be a fun time-waster on the Vita, especially if it's not too large in filesize.

And this is probably the closest the Vita has been to having a NEW fighter released on it instantly, without it sitting on other consoles first for months / years! A small victory.

According to Ken Levine's Twitter, he said he spoke to both Sony and 2K about Bioshock Vita yesterday. He said he's 'trying to make a match'.

So yeah it's still not happening.

Haha it's hilarious to me that he even talked to them at all about it (if that's true). I figured they would have never spoken of it again since E3 2011.

Maybe he should talk to Sony Japan? Maybe they could at least make a PS Mobile title out of it like Tokyo Jungle

Soooooooooo, I grabbed Unit 13, thanks to plus..
I downloaded it, figured I'd give it a shot. Holy shit, its amazing. I replay missions to get a higher score, and I'm loving the controls.
Looking forward to bro-oping with my friend!

I havent heard shit about this game, is it just because lolvita? It amazing, I'd put it above Golden Abyss right now. Lack of story doesnt do shit for me, most of these games have a horrible plot anyways. "Zomg, grizzled bald marine gets shafted by military" or "Bald soldier is real good at what he does but the government dont care".

I think a lot of people don't like it because they were expecting a linear scripted experience, rather than a score chaser where you aim for a perfect run.

Digging silent hill... On the 2nd dungeon... Pretty good for what it is... Nice little isometric arpg. I could see how it becomes stale but so far its enjoyable dungeon romp. Dont know how mp works or why its needed. For some reason 7.5 review number sticks out in my head from a brief review i read once... Id actually say its pretty accurate for the game. maybe an 8.0... But since i dont go on a number scale i say its good enough to buy if youre interested or curious. Anyways im stuck already on the 2nd dungeon. The notes regarding the end puzzle seems pretty unclear. I actually have no idea what im even supposed to do, so i think the game could be clearer in those regards.

People who sell their games quickly I bet. Although I know sp FPS campaigns are popular -__-

I love games that add value by thinking about replayability, you don't get that with scripted experiences. They go out of their way to randomise things too, love that daily challenge.

Not that it had the perfect/right amount of cinematic feel though, just it's not something to really complain about when what's there is so great for a handheld shooter.

Unit 13 was one of the first Vita games that I got, despite the negative reviews and comments. Glad I gave it a chance. Pretty good graphics and challenging enemy AI. Online co-op's a blast too and kudos to the devs for still putting out Daily Missions (these are all unique right? I don't actually play the game every single day to know.)

It's the best shooter on the system. People give it shit because it doesn't have story, it's a highlight for me. Such an amazing game, the last HVT is actually challenging.

One of my few platinums.

So maybe not the right thread for this, but whatever, close enough.

I'm going to be traveling a lot soon and I'm looking for some good J-RPGs to take up my time; what would you guys recommend? (Besides of course Persona 4, which I plan to buy really soon.)

if you're on a US account there's a bunch of JRPGs and SRPGs that got a deep discount on PSN this week. But they're all PSP games. And they're all new to me so I can't comment on them. (Although I did just buy most of them.)

For Vita give Atelier Totori a look. It's a pretty good JRPG with a great story and cast. The item crafting is deep and addictive while the combat is fun to watch despite being the usual turn-based style.

When you put it that way it does sound abit underwhelming, so I guess I can see how some could view it negatively. But damn, try the game. I cant imagine many people disliking the game after they tried it.

The missions flow nicely, its a nice mix of MGS where I want to stealth, but when it comes to a shootout I feel like its designed for that too. Could have really used a crouch or something though!

Does it have to be Vita native? If So then Disgaea 3. Can it be a PSP game, or PS1 classic? If it can then either Dissida 2(FF RPG/fighter hybrid) Looks great on Vita and tons of fun, with allot to do, and Legend of Mana because its just an amazing game with also lots to do.

on Vita there are only Totori+ and P4G and both are very damn good.

however you have a decent selection of JRPGs from PSP and PSone.

I think he/she want turn based and more traditional JRPG, not SRPG.

Okay, so pretty much those two seem to be the main JRPGs on the Vita. I don't mind going back and playing PSP games, but I was really trying to see what's out there natively for the Vita.

Does Atelier not have a physical box release though? My Vita is currently on my JP PSN account, and I don't want to switch right now, so that would restrict me from buying the English version if it's PSN only.

Do any of you know how to convert a dex drive save to something the vita could read for a psone classic? I have some old saves from suikoden but they're all in dex drive format. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
