Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

Bought Hotline Miami this week. Died a lot. Got angry. Almost through my Vita against a wall. Kept playing. Took a break. I thought I'd been playing only for half an hour when in actuality it was more like two hours. Is this normal?

Aabs Animals being released in North America is ... interesting. It's not really a game and a portion (all?) of the proceeds went to supporting Japanese animal shelters.

I may be wrong about this as I never owned a psp, but I thought the reason the PSP invismals never came to the US was because we never got the camera that went with it for it to work in the first place?

Kind of a shame as I am becoming somewhat interested in the Vita game. Im still unsure how some of the mechanics work, but it looks like it could be pretty cool overall.

The first two of the three PSP Invizimals games were released in North America, the last was not. All three are available on PSN in Europe with Vita compatibility. None are on the North American store.

It seems the Invizimals Vita game will allow for non-AR based gameplay. The battle arenas, which are cross play compatible with the PS3 game are playable without AR. Also, the TV show is apparently planned for global release.

Ahh I see, are you familiar with the Invisimals series? I think some of the video I have seen for the Vita game looks pretty cool, Im not exactly how many creatures there are to capture, or exactly how you capture them, but it seems there is some genuine possible interaction between the player, and their invisimals. Do those trading cards have any effect on the Vita game, or are they their own seperate TCG?

I believe there are a few hundred Invizimals (including Daxter, and Sackboy haha) but there's been no word on the count for the Vita game. Capturing Invizimals depends on the creature. You don't battle them but scan specific real world items for colour matches and then enter a unique mini game to capture it ie; an insect Invizimal mght have you try to swat at it, etc.

The trading cards shouldn't be needed for Invizimals: The Alliance on Vita. They're for an F2P (you do need to own the physical cards) Eye of Judgement-esque AR battle app on iOS/Android/PSP/Vita.

lol I think I may be one of the only people I knew that cared about Eye of Judgement(sad because it was a cool idea), so I may have to check that out aswell.

This seems like something right up your alley considering your enjoyment of stuff like Digimon though, were you a fan of the psp games? You planning on buying the Vita version?

I've always been captivated by AR tech (I have an Eye of Judgement deck too) so I did check out the PSP games. Despite being the best use of AR in games there are problems. The games are aimed at kids so the combat is fairly simple, and the FMV cutscenes are ridiculous but most importantly I felt like Novarama had yet to craft a complete experience. There is nothing to do outside of AR gameplay like capturing, and battling.

Assuming The Alliance is released in North America I might check it out. Novarama's addressing some of my complaints by completely overhauling the battle system.

This is a thing of unbelievable beauty. How I wish Nintendo would embrace better screen technology. :(

What do you folks think the chance of Disgaea 4 getting a Vita release? I wanna buy Disgaea 3 for Vita but I kind of hesitating considering I heard from some that it is one of the weakest entry in the series.

Edit: Fucking hell just after I posted this I saw that Disgaea 4 Returns announcement on the front page, hahaha. Well, I change my question then: will it get an English release?

Hmm, better save money for Disgaea 4 or buy Disgaea 3 too? Hmmmmm.

Or get both? :3

No doubt that Disgaea 4 Return will get an English release since NISA's been pretty consistent with localising the series. There's normally a 6 month gap between the Japanese and English releases of the games.

It seems like a game that should end up on the platform at some point... but I haven't even heard a rumor about it. Snag that shit on Steam.

Its replay value is nearly infinite so if it does come out in like a year on the vita I can almost guarantee that you'll double dip.

Thanks, I bought it last night. If I like it too much then I will double dip.

Now I have been playing Dungeons of Dredmore. I really wish a Vita version, that game is so fun.

Played Dragon's Crown today at EVO. It's super cool and I might just get both versions cause why not.

Atlus should've have a LE with both PS3 and Vita version (and a mini artbook) let say for $80 or even $90, but sadly Atlus don't care. and because of that I'll just get one version.

Shahid seems interested.

I'd really like Bioshock Vita to happen but I guess Sony would need to stump up the development costs and/or marketing budget. Or licence the IP and have an internal studio handle it.

But what would the game even be like? Every time it comes up I imagine a port of the first game - which would be amazing - but I can't see that happening at all.

Toto wants a 90$ PS3/Vita bundle of games which are already 90$ when bought together. And already come with art books.

Totobeni, everyone. Here's here until Tearaway. Enjoy while it lasts.

Sony paid $12 million for AC3: Liberation and CoD: Declassified and marketed both heavily with bundles. Why not Bioshock?

At least they are talking again.

I know its a pipedream, and cant even imagine what a proper bioshock would be like on vita or resources itd take... But forsome reason i can def see a spin off or different style of game come out. Wouldnt mind if its an iso arpg.

They're way more expensive here in my country and for over $120, but if there is an edition with both version I'll get them way cheaper.

but yeah continue to be upset and super mad and annoyed about every single post I wrote, it made me smile and keep me warm, and no, with Danganronpa and Demon Gaze I'll be on the ship for longer..so yeah.

Nah. Think I'll just take a cue from SmokyDave and many others: drop the thread from my subscriptions.

Ah I see, you guys getting massive buttfrustration because you can't stand that people have opposing points of view, am i right?

a first-person dungeon crawler like SMT/EO but with anime overload.

Thanks for the answer, I will buy it when comes, I liked a lot Etrian Odyssey/The Dark Spire.

I am playing now Dungeons of Dredmore, so I have appetite for a portable version of the genre. I hope Sei Maddou Monogatari comes soon, that game is a rogue and remembers me so much Recettear.

Maybe not the right thread to ask but if there's a price drop on the system it'll probably be at Gamescom, right? I've been wanting one more and more, especially for the PS+ stuff. My birthday is right after that so I was thinking of using whatever I money get towards it.

Gamescom is the only event where a price drop could be appropriately announced outside of a surprise specialised Vita event. Fingers-crossed for your sake.
