What's worse is that because of the vagueness of the facts, his character is being distorted to fit whatever narrative people want.

it is sickening that victim blaming won.

A dead man cannot defend his honor from all the smear, lies and distortions made of him by twisted politically partisan people who have chosen to side with a murderer.

You know what? Fuck it if he got free.

The Civil trial is where he's going to get fucked.

It happened with OJ, and it will happen with Zimmerman.

Bankrupt his ass to hell and back.

I think the logic was the law should be followed as well as applied to the verdict.

people obvious disagree that according to the LAW of the land, Zimmerman did wrong and should have been convicted, then also according to the LAW of the land, those who leak documents (rightfully or wrongfully) should be prosecuted according to the law of the land.

correct?

Who cares what the law is when the law is wrong?

Saying things like that really doesn't help anybody. But I guess by saying this i'm just playing a game of cognitive dissonance right?!

The truth can only help. Just being open and honest about it helps. Because you can't solve a problem when people put their fingers in their ears and go "LALALALALA Nope, no problem here LALALALALALA".

All of you are labeling this man as guilty (After being found innocent) with no evidence to support your claims is more sickening than anything.

No? Those are two completely separate things. One man is a murderer, the other two are whistleblowers who helped uncover injustices.

I think the point it's trying to get at is that it's hypocritical to pick and choose when to follow the rule of law when it best suits us. At any rate, I also disagree. Aside from being completely unrelated, it's not illogical to support due process but take issue with the laws being applied. (the "Stand Your Ground" law for example)

Edit: ManInTheMirror covered this. Slow reply from mobile.

No, reasonable doubt means the prosecution didn't convince the jury that their version of what happened was almost certainly true.

And either you agree with the jury's conclusion -- in other words, you think that it is at least reasonable to believe that Zimmerman shouldn't face justice -- or you don't -- in other words, when you say you "agree with the verdict," your statement is meaningless nonsense.

I'm just pointing out the necessary implications of your position.

Can you elaborate? As a non American, still baffled and playing catch up with a lot of this stuff. Where and how can it go from here?

Definitely going to feel less sympathetic whenever a hurricane/tornado hits Florida and levels some place in the future.

What if it's the house of one of Trayvon's parents or friends?

How can anyone not?

Was there any clear, decisive evidence that the killing was racially motivated?

Face it: none of us know what happened that night. Seems like only one living person does. Personally, I believe strongly in "innocent until proven guilty". So does the U.S. judicial system. Zimmerman certainly wasn't proven innocent, but that's beside the point.

What Zimmerman did resulted in death
Snowden exposed the government of wrong doing and harmed no one

He wasn't found innocent. He was found not guilty of murder. Still doesn't change the truth, that he killed a young man. He's not innocent.

I don't think anyone is calling him guilty, he's obviously was found not be guilty, but -
  • You can disagree with a verdict, there is nothing sickening about it.
  • You can be a horrible human being while not being guilty of any crime.

Wait, wait, wait. Is it your position that George Zimmerman didn't kill Trayvon Martin at all? Because I thought we were pretty well on the same page about that one, at least.

A dead unarmed 17 year old is the most sickening part of this.
He was killed in self defense and you all want to crucify the man that was defending himself. So yes, more sickening than him being killed.
2/10

On a basic level, TM was shot with Zimmerman's gun and now he's dead. Zimmerman has admitted as much. Any claims of self defense are worthless seeing as there were no witnesses.

Martin was shot with Zimmerman's gun, fuck the narrative. Explain that

If someone (a black male perhaps) were to kill Zimmerman, would he be able to successfully claim self-defense, because Zimmerman is a known murderer of black males and one could reasonably conclude that hes a threat?

There's more.

Zimmerman was not only found not-guilty of second-degree murder, but he was also found not-guilty of voluntary manslaughter.

I'm honestly not certain which site it was (a newspaper's site), but I know I saw people discussing it on NeoGAF. (But yes, NeoGAF is a lousy source for actual news.)

So, basically you made up something on the fly out of same base need to defend Zimmerman and got called out on it?

Well, glad we got that cleared up.
