Super Smash Bros Melee: 2:01:16

This seems... wrong. Especially considering we were a full hour plus behind when KoF was still going, and Smash added about a half hour too. I guess removing award ceremonies and in-between-game time (which wasn't much TBH) you could sorta result in these numbers.

Injustice one seems on the ball though.

lol. I'm staying with relatives and my brother in law picked up AE but all we have here is stock xbox pads.

I play on PS3 and have no problems on the PS3 pad. The problem tho is when I go to my brothers place and he has an 360 so I have to use a 360 pad. I have a much easier time on with charge characters on the 360, no way I can play Ibuki or Cammy on the 360 pad tho lol.

I went to go get pizza and was gone maybe 30 minutes (this was after Chris G's match against DJT in Winner's) and when I got back, they were already on Loser's Finals. Shit was crazy fast.

Also, BIG shoutouts to RentalHamster and Shouta. When a few people on GAF said they would stop by my match against Chris I thought "Oh, if it happens, awesome", but didn't exactly expect anyone to stop by, but meeting you two was a real blast!

That's not my name! >:(

Hehe just kidding, good shit smed. We were rootin' for ya.

I was keeping an eye out to see if I'd run into you again later, but I never did. I'm glad you had a good time.

Oh dear God it's not

I'm so sorry :( I feel bad now

And yeah, was hoping to run into you two at some point again, too bad we couldn't.

lol, 's okay.

A lot of people do that, actually.

It's rent a hamster. Like, rent a hero.

Your dad reminds me of Major Nelson for some reason. I dunno why. What area of the arena were you sitting in for finals? I was front left.

I'm a little late posting this but thought you guys might get a kick out of it. I saw it on the road trip to evo but I didnt have my camera out at the time so I had to wait till the trip back to snag a pic. This is a few miles north of Bakersfield.

Odd question but.. do you guys play games while watching streams? Maybe in between matches, or maybe even in some cases watch them like podcasts if your just in it for the commentary/its an OBS/FGTV/CC kinda thing? If so, what do you play?

Sometimes I grind UMvC3 training mode with a stream on my laptop in front of my desktop monitor, but that takes a bit of setting up with my outlet situation so I don't do it regularly cause I'm lazy.

Lately, I've been playing Temple Run 2. Yes, that shitty ass game with a nonexistent difficulty curve. But fuck it, I'm a completionist so I just wanted to buy everything because I can. So now I'm looking to get Animal Crossing because it serves that itch much better and in a better way. Don't really know what to expect from the game (never played anything in the franchise before) or if its really for me, but it seems like it's got a good laid back vibe where I can play without having to pay attention 100% of the time or be missing out on music/audio too much. Tried doing it with Hotline Miami, or racing games, but audio is really half the experience. Not really buying it to fulfill that purpose alone, but GAF hype + general intrigue has made me decide to pick it up tomorrow.

This one.

Generally during pool play of tournaments a lot of the matches aren't interesting enough to fully be invested in and sometimes the only good thing is the commentary. So a lot of times during those times or when something is being played I don't care for, I fire up my wii and make some headway in completing Xenoblade. Wii is the only console hooked up in my room but with my recent get of a vita I've been gaming on that with whatever game I'm trying to finish atm

OP updated with Mad Catz Unveiled and Art streams.

So..is Bifuteki not the back up streamer for NLBC after all? I got a PM from Bifu a while back saying he's the official back up streamer for NLBC but it seems like that's what Art has been doing (consistently). And then there's that whole animosity between them too, but I just want whatever's accurate to be reflected in OP in case the main NLBC stream doesn't work. Has Bifu taken us for a ride?????

With regards to this, I don't really want to link to Smashboards twice in OP, I think it's relevant enough that the site is linked in the same way SRK is (where you can matchmake in a specific subforum/threads). Plus SmashBoards already has it's own unique description, so yeah :P

Ofc. I think a lot of people do that.
I used to training mode UMvC3 during any FG stream. Usually the content isn't great from start to finish, so I would just listen to the commentary while playing. If something interesting came on, I would look away from the TV and watch the match on my computer.

I almost always have a podcast running when I'm in training mode nowadays. I can't do training mode without something running in the background. Otherwise its mind numbing. Repeating the same things again and again and again until you get them right

When I started PC gaming more I realized why LoL and SC always have such ridiculous viewer counts on Twitch. People like LoL so they watch LoL while they LoL. lol.

Usually when I'm playing a game I just have some random dude-playing-a-video-game-in-his-house shit on or a podcast or something for background noise. I don't watch fighting game tournaments when I'm playing though because I usually like to pay attention to those. Unless it's some lame shit that I don't care about like TRB.

You get used to it if you watch Salty Cupcakes a lot.

MikeZ is comfortable when he's answering questions. He's just not good at commentating gameplay, but few folks are. It's very hard. I got to do it briefly at NEC- even if you know what's going on, it's just hard to do it right.

I do this, ill probs just be in training mode or be playing ranked when I do.

Yeah, being a good commentator is hard, whether its play by play or even colour commentary. I know if I tried it, it'd probably be fun but I'd probably suck at it or just try to emulate what I see on streams.

You need to be charismatic and have some flow in your commentary. Every time I've tuned into something Mike Z was commentating, the flow wasn't there at all, and that's taking into account his particular sense of humour too. Delivery just isn't there.

I play read NeoGAF.com and miss all the small useless things on stream that make me laugh the most.
Upgrade to Windows 7/8 and use snap dude.

Or use whatever the Mac equivalent is.

Or code your own Linux kernel to have that functionality.

I really enjoy rynge when he's just chilling and commentating the runback but he so irritating as fuck when doing it for majors, for some reason
None of the commentary at EVO really bothered me this time. Not even Magus.

Can't tell if commentary is improved or I'm just desensitized to all of their individual quirks at this point.

I think EVO commentary is always at least a little better because the commentators are more aware of the variety of people watching the stream. Lots of context.
