PlayStation Mobile Thread of Indie Games, and Apps on Android/Vita

Man Adventure bar is pretty good, but that damn touch controller pisses me off, and I wish the aspect ratio was proper on Vita. Also would not hurt to allow for character creation in these kinds of games. Its a decent Rogue like though.

I like the picross clone which has been released. Not a huge content in it but it does the job fine for 2 euros.

I will look Adventure Bar Labyrinth, could be interesting

Sony should really just say fuck the earlier Xperia's etc and bump up the specs if that's really what's keeping the bigger IOS/Android productions off the service.

PS Blogcast mentioned Chaos Rings coming to PSM in their latest show... Guess NA'll get it next Tues alongside Japan?

Yes. SE website has the price as $8.99... but that won't work unless they have a separate SKU for the non japanese version. It will be ¥800 in Japan

Man Picbox is pretty addictive. Never played a game like this before so i'm not great at it. Bit it's pretty good. Free to download so give it a try (there's a IAP to unlock the full game).

Adventure Bar is pretty good too, but i am awful at it. Will keep playing though :)

Good to see more quality games releasing.

I've finished the main story of Adventure Bar Labyrinth. The dragons are indeed really annoying unless you have a fully upgraded Dragon Shield (halves the fire damage).

Managed to reach floor 66 (though I died once on the 40's) in the post-story section before I was forced to admit defeat in the middle of a monster lair - despite there being only one high damaging monster left. I just ran out of potions and was happy enough cuddling a goldmine of 15000G and 3 Escape Books!

Yea I guess I will have to do that next time, I always just sell it :(. What sword are you using?

I was using a Master Sword with about 7-8 buffs on it I think. i just maxed it out so can't tell :P.

Started to push all the upgrades onto a Rideon Sword now because there doesn't appear to be a limit (yet). As for hated enemies, Vampires are annoying because they take off a point off your Max Power, as opposed to the Bats which take off one from your power but it's semi-recoverable.

Do you know if Silver Shield will work on the Vampires?

I think it does but I need to double check. Inventory space is so limited that you can't loot and do a serious run at the same time.

I know that any foods that prevent energy drain work on vampires but they have limits on how effective it'll be.

I've just been reduced to 2 Power :P

So, I'm a little bit late to the game's release, but the other day I came across the PS Mobile release of Chiebura. I was totally shocked to see it, as it's one of my absolute favorite games from the Xbox Indies library.

The game is a shooter, where you're a young girl with a bunny who can act as a grappling hook. You're heading down a hot springs well after your grandfather, and as you travel down the well, you have to use the grappling hook to stay secured to pegs along the wall. (If you fall and hit the hot springs water at the bottom, you'll take damage.) When you shoot, the power of your weapon pushed you back in the opposite direction.

Thus, gameplay is a mixture of taking out enemies + making sure you're positioned in a safe place + constantly jumping from peg to peg as the ones you were using disappear offscreen. Very, very fun, and super cheap.

Here's a video, for anyone interested: Youtube[url].

I actually find this really interesting, because im very curious to see how Sony plans to bring indies in on the Japanese side of things since as far as I have been able to see from reading various discussion, and articles on the issue, it appears that it could prove far more challenging then it is on the western side.

The penguin(?) game looks interesting, but i enjoy puzzle games.

Picbox is pretty fun, everyone should go try it out.

Picbox is my first picross style game

Holy shit guys, picross games are awesome! That Curtis fellow on PSNstore is spot on with this

:)

Also yes Picbox is awesome.

Hi guys! Thanks a ton for your support, really glad you're all enjoying it! I plan to get another batch of (free) puzzles out to you ASAP. =)

Do you know if Silver Shield will work on the Vampires?

I've just confirmed - it doesn't :(.

Possible spoiler - if you know of "The Abyss" from looking around town carefully, read on.

I somehow managed to unlock a new dungeon where no items can be taken in and all potions, rings and books are unknown items until they're used once or identified with the appropriate book. The upshot is that there are some new items in there that can't be found in the labyrinth (for example, there's a pretty rubbish sword but it's guaranteed not to miss - and a book that resets any staff in your inventory to 10 shots). Only managed floor 15 or so because I used an unknown book on a decent shield I picked up. The book turned the selected item into a Large Bread!

Your score in The Abyss is recorded when you die (and presumably if you escape too)

Not sure what the trigger was because I managed to reach floor 72 but I doubt the developer is THAT evil :P.

I was a big fan of Picross on the DS but this PicBox is really a great game. Still waiting on the unlock of the full version, I will so buy the shit out of it!

Are we stuck with the japanese button mapping in Chaos RIng (O to validate, X to cancel)? The in-game tutorial says the opposite (X to validate, O to cancel) but it's maybe a traduction error.

And yes the framerate is pretty bad.

I have a japanese vita, so I am probably not the best person to ask.

Seems like we are stuck with it.

And yeah, the framerate is awful. I'm actually enjoying the game but i find it nearly impossible to recommend it to anyone else.

Would you recommend it to a person like me? I've been watching some of the gameplay videos and it looks playable and even fun. The load times and framerate are noticeable but they don't seem to be game breaking. And it looks like a proper RPG. It's my only means to play the game btw.

Also anyone knows how long it roughly is?

Yes, more content!!!! 15x15 only please (or better, 20x20!), no interest in smaller ones (come on, 28 5x5 grids? 1/3rd of the game? you really tought that was a good idea? :-p)

Yeah, it’ll be an additional 28 15x15 puzzles. Any new packs will be this size.

I included so many of the lower level puzzles as many PlayStation owners haven’t had a chance to play a nonogram game before, and almost all of them would skip the ‘How to Play’ section. At the 5x5 level it’s easy to grasp the basics through trial and error. I guess 28 might have been a little excessive.

I did have 20x20 puzzles to begin with, but on the smaller screens this proved to be almost unplayable.

Fantastic!

I was grateful for the amount of smaller ones actually. Like you say, I'd never played a game like this before (and reading how to play these things confused me to no end) so smaller puzzles were a great way to learn :)

Look forward to the content update.
