yeah I agree, EVO grand finals lately have been fucking ASS!! The only EVO grand finals that was tense and could have gone either way was EVO09. The rest was very one sided.

Filipinoman is dope, but Luffy is in that tier above consistently beating elite international players (Kindevu/Eita at Stunfest, Ricky/Mago at Evo, etc). Was the only person with the footsies to scare Xian at Evo too, when their match when down to the final round.
There's Keshikaran and Kawaguuchi from Japan also who are both amazing.

True, the thing is that a great Grand Finals is how Marvel 3 got to 145k. If Flocker had just bodied Justin, I think Smash would have had the most simultaneous viewers at EVO. But because Justin refused to go away quietly, the GF got more exciting and viewer count kept increasing. I think by the time Justin reset it Marvel was about even or had just barely passed Smash. I guess people kept spreading the word and more and more people came in to see what was going on. Probably not fighting game fans, just random gamers. Still though, that's the power of a great Grand Finals. Oh and it would have helped if Daigo made it to Grand Finals, that guy always pulls in extra thousands of viewers from somewhere in the dark depths of the universe.

The music sounds great to me.
But they won't reach all their goals. I think it'll get funded, but there's just not a ton of momentum behind the game right now.

I mean... Justin Wong used infinites several times in his run. He didn't play them out completely, only until he had enough meter to secure the kill - but he still used them. He's the best Marvel player of all time and it took a miracle, cinderella run simply only to lose in the end.
