So your finally starting to get the picture. I've got at least 10 devices in my house that can access the internet. And I've got to run around setting up options for all of them because you lot can't leave your cock alone and are too ashamed to phone up your ISP to unlock your wank filter. I smh...
I'm saying any help that a parent can get to help keep their kids away from this stuff is welcome in my home.
It couldn't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned.
If the people in your area will it to be, it will come to pass. That's democracy.
Where this crosses the line is the opt-out process being discussed. That is where it affects people who are not parents negatively and unnecessarily. If this is going to continue and become law, it should be opt-in; there is no excuse for it to be opt-out for people who are not involved.
How about you do your job as a parent and keep an eye on what your kid does online.
Let's not play coy. That's not the argument I'm trying to make nor is it one I wish to have.i don't think you've been paying attention for the last 2500 years.
Yes, we can all see why the government would rather it be an opt-in monitored process which is exactly why so many are against it.Well I agree that there is a debate to be had on that part of the issue. I've got no problem with it being opt-in. But I can see why the gov would rather it being opt-out.
How about you do your job as a poster and read what I've wrote...
You've got 10 different devices which all connect to the Internet in different ways? Or do you have 10 devices that connect to your router so you could easily get a router-level filter without much effort at all?
Why can't they just create a website that will let you turn it on? Advertise it and make everyone know of it? New people signing up will be asked if they want it enabled.
Much ado about nothing if that is the case. Well, except for the egregious waste of taxpayer money, which is just par for the course at this point with government.Unless the ISPs had a change in their position, an opt out system isn't what was negotiated.
The ISPs said they will offer filtering to all new users and existing users, which you can opt to take or not.
Cameron just asked the ISPs whether it was okay to say that the filter was the default option.
I've got to pop out but they are all connected to the router either wirelessly or ethernet.
Talk about using a sledge hammer to crack a nut.
While this may have some degree of success stopping kids viewing porn (I am a little dubious on that) I don't think it will have any impact on cp sharing/viewing, there are ways and means of doing that and truthfully all the internet did was make it easier for it to be circulated.
If once this is in affect and some data is available that shows it has helped parents stop kids watching porn then great I wouldn't argue with it, but what about the parents who don't give a toss what the little darlings are doing on the internet ?
I have to wonder if there will be a neat little (well maybe not so little) folder with the names and addresses of everyone who opts-out.
NEW SKILL UNLOCKED:I can't wait till I have kids so I can push bullshit things through parliament too.
A lot of parents feel a sense of entitlement because "they've done their part" - everyone else is just selfish.Parents who support opt out but would be fine with opt in are being self centered. Even if its just a phone call and being put on a list (yay), us adults who have nothing to do with this are being involved for no logical reason. Yet you don't care because 'hey it works for me so everyone else should suck it up'
Porn site traffic and subscriptions are through the roof following Cameron's most recent announcement. Behind the scenes it is revealed porn production companies provided hefty anonymous donations to the Cameron campaign;Fuck it I am going to download ALL THE PORN now.

I can only imagine that. Shit is going serious... Just wait, until someone in the EU council has the same idea, for the whole European Union.
Does anyone understand the rape depiction part of this? I try and get my head round it but I can't.
A Dutch EU politician proposed a similar thing a few months ago. The EU adjusted their spam filters because of the amount of backlash emails they got.
Yep but Google implemented the always-on safesearch. :_(
Bing
"If we block da porn all the dodgy stuff will disappear!"
Thing is not everyone has kids so why penalise people that don't for a select group of people? I can't wait till I have kids so I can push bullshit things through parliament too.

Hah!
Seriously though, send an email to your MP if you oppose this. I did!
This seems like a reasonable and rational assessment of the situation.Holy shit..a country in the west goes to syrian/china internet. But those people over there have even more freedom.

I would wager that more people have kids than wank to internet porn.
So who's being "selfish" now?
