Damn, I didn't even know you guys realized I was in there. I have to log out if I want to watch streams anonymously. It was definitely cool though, great matches, commentator was passionate lol.
It's random and a bit of luck honestly.
I could have gotten tp 32 without playing a single foreigner for example (finished at 33rd)
Oh yeah, and Guile sucks.
Speaking of EMP, when is Triforce going to update people on the status of the refunds on the money that was supposed to be raised for his players? He said he would give it back, has anyone actually got a refund?
I ask this because I was chilling with Javits last weekend after TSB and he said he has not been refunded yet. I bet noone will hear anything until after VXG lol

How do you book tickets without knowing who's flying w/ modern travel, though? When I went to Amsterdam, I called up Hasbro's travel department later that week, and they booked the flight for me.

- Goro has great normals, relatively easy HD combos, and a really tricky throw game thanks to some of his normals and his special roll. He's also the slowest characters in the game, so staying at least mid-range is essential. Clark, in comparison, is far more mobile, and has arguably better normals, but his throw game is less varied; he's basically a straight up grappler with EX moves that cover up his weak spots.
- Duo Lon has a very versatile set of moves that allow him to zone, run mixups, pressure or rushdown, and he can change gears between any of these styles in seconds; however, he doesn't have much to work with at long range, and he can be a bit predictable up close, so mid-range is his best area to work in. Furthermore, he doesn't hit as hard as other characters, and scaling really cramps down on his HD combos, so I think he works best in the starter position.
-K's great on the offensive, especially in the corner. He zones well with the follow ups from Eins Trigger (that wheel of fire he throws off), although the initial move is punishable if it whiffs, his normals have long hitboxes that are great for blockstrings and frame traps, and most of his combos push his opponents towards the corner, which lets him set up his mixup game and his juggles. He needs meter for some of his more reliable combos, but not as much as other meter-heavy characters. He doesn't have many options for oki, though.
Vise hits hard, has a lot of options for her command throws and great hit confirms with her cr.B, and her EX Decide is an anywhere juggle, which means that she can combo off of any anti-air hit. She has a hard time dealing with projectile zoning, and depends on meter to keep her safe, so you might want to save her for 2nd or 3rd.
JuiceboxAbel has some videos that get into the technical details of some of the characters you've listed, so you might want to check them out when you have the time:
Duo Lon isn't a good second character? I figured incoming against a character with less health would make his low damage less of a problem, and he wouldn't have to make comebacks like an anchor would.
I figured put the most defensive character with good meter building up front, put my low damage, high neutral strength character second, and my super aggressive character last.
But K' might not be as good as I need if he's an anchor with bad oki.

Was under the impression 2nd/3rd slot was much more about being able to leverage resources more effectively (i.e., you want someone who can blow out 5 bars and a full drive on anchor), alongside counter-picking. The damage really seems to ramp up as matches go on, its a unique flow.

The best Duo Lon player (Tenkawa from Japan) uses Duo Lon on pretty much every position so go with what you are comfortable with.
K' is more of a technical character in the sense that you need to be good with his anywhere juggle moves to use him to his full potential. He is one of the most versatile characters when it comes to HD because he can start a combo almost off of anything. He can do an HD combo off of a sweep or even after his EX super, if your execution can keep up. He has two anywhere juggle moves, his air kick special and his ex super.
During Capcoms fighting game panels, Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono usually tells attendees "Darkstalkers are not dead" and ask fans to raise their hands holding money for a new Darkstalkers game. This started back at Comic-Con 2011 and at New York Comic-Con 2012 there was even a teaser with Demitri and Lord Raptor. Capcom didnt pull the "Darkstalkers are not dead" line this year and Darkstalkers Resurrection was not a strong seller. Speaking with Siliconera, Matt Dahlgren, fighting game manager at Capcom, said "Darkstalkers Resurrection did not perform as well as we would have liked to perform. You never know what the future may hold, but Street Fighter is definitely not dead." We pressed and asked about the trailer as well as a rumor about a new Darstalkers game using the Street Fighter fighting game engine. "There is nothing Darkstalkers on the immediate horizon for sure," Dahlgren commented.
If anything though I kinda have to blame Capcom on this a little bit. They go from Third Strike Online to JoJo's HD (at a slightly larger price tag too), then MvC:O and then Darkstalkers Resurrection, all of those from 2011 to now (not factoring Chronicles of Mystara since that isn't a fighter), there's probably people thinking "oh look, another Capcom fighting game port. Yay." They should have spaced the releases out a little to prevent this imo.
DSR was never going to do the numbers Capcom wanted no matter what anyway if those numbers even existed for something they weren't going to do anyway. Now they have the wonderful excuse to walk away from doing it and can point the fingers at the fans and say they didn't do enough. Wonderful job all around Capcom.

Working in a strategies role in a large corporation makes me wonder about how companies like Capcom utilize similar roles.
All jokes aside, sometimes I bet we're wrong and it really isn't justified to release a game.
I still would heavily lean against UMV3 getting a patch, for instance. Only hope of that would be to bombard the hell out of Marvel and show how UMVC3 gets people hype for characters.
I.e., someone make a kickass team utilizing Nova, Rocket Raccoon, and Strange.
This is a really really minor insignificant thing, but I really hope that Capcom goes back to doing "fight intros" for Street Fighter games the way used before 4. No cinematics, just the two characters on screen doing whatever cool little intro animation the devs came up with.
Especially stuff like the special character specific intros. They really helped in giving characters personality and setting the mood for certain fights. You know Gen is a badass old man when he blocks Akuma's raging demon and then counters with his own super. Doesn't even have to be something as flashy as that, stuff like the classic Ryu-Ken fistbump tells you plenty about the characters and their relationship. I feel like something is lost in the mini cinematics they opted for this time around with 4 and SFxT (although at least that one has special team intros, so there is that).
And how in the fuck does Guy manage to find barrels to angrily kick in every stage anyways? Why the fuck are there barrels near some active volcano? Why does Guy have such a deep-seated grudge against barrels? So many questions.

While you've all got your toes in the sand, Aris uploaded about an hour and half of SoulCalibur 2 stuff from his stream last night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7ZEcN2cRLU
He does brief rundowns of several characters and explains 2G and stepguard and their respective strengths and weaknesses. I don't agree with everything he said on there, but it's definitely worth watching.
That's kind of what I mean, too, about how their strategies and analytics work. Normally I'd have gotten Darkstalkers and D&D (especially D&D if we're being honest), but with XBone and PS4 coming with no way to move my games over? Eff that.

I don't buy for a second that the sales of DS:R had anything to do with whether DS4 got made. Capcom's struggles & restructuring far more important to that.

For me while I'm getting a PS4, it's going to be a long time before I stop using my PS3 & 360. It will be years (if ever) before that machine has a fighting/shmup library to rival those. So with that I don't mind buying new PSN releases.
Even when I do get a PS4 later on I can still see myself using my PS3. I have plenty of games for my PS3 as is and I can see myself still going back to play them. Hell I can probably see myself buying games for it still too. I still get N64 games even. If I want to play USFIV and it means unhooking the PS4 and hooking up the PS3 to do so then so be it.
If you’re a gamer and have even a passing interest in the fighting genre, watching the annual Evo tournament can lead to thrilling moments. To be honest, this year’s lineup of titles was underwhelming for me. I’ve never viewed Mortal Kombat as a serious fighter, Super Smash Bros. Melee exponentially less so. Injustice: Gods Among Us still needs balancing and is basically a bloodless bastard son of Mortal Kombat, anyway. King of Fighters XIII is fun to watch but way overdependent on 50-hit super combos. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is clunky and stiff compared to many of its modern peers. Persona 4 Arena couldn’t cram more tired anime clichés in with a crowbar and a tub of butter. I actually adore the total bedlam of Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, but even the best commentator can have trouble trying to follow exactly what’s happening. Skullgirls is barely worth mentioning.
