ChrisG did once random select troll at a KOF match but yea.... this seems like a very Marvel related issue with obvious pot splitting and trolling.

If Flocker hadn't picked a troll team in that GF I would've actually stated that ChrisG going for that PW was not "troll". Mostly because people were saying that version of the game was unpatched. Unpatched UMVC3 has FULLY INVINCIBLE assists for Phoenix Wright if he turns TA, which is essentially game breaking. If he had that going he would have a match down. The surprise of it could've allowed ChrisG to take a few matches before switching to his real team. Sadly it was all too obvious at the end.

Oh and I am talking about under performing in GF by picking random teams... not exactly pot splits. I wanted to make that clear. Pot splits happens in every game, people just don't make it this obvious.

Sad that this actually true. Marvel's my favorite game to watch yet it has the most controversy with grand finals and all. I would be pissed yet not surprise if say somehow MLG did pick up Capcom FG and it was just AE and SFxT.

That's b/c in ae and kof you'll get blown up unless you're jwong vs air. PR Rog picked thawk based on match up at season beatings (don't remember the match). But yea in gf never seen it happen like in marvel

Pot Splits most certainly happen in SF.

This. I can understand and agree with people being upset that players are not trying their best in the grand finals, but the payouts are way too staggered given the randomness of the game (combined with the low number of rounds). Ideally, the players chop the pot equally, but leave a little extra to keep things interesting. It seems apparent that this wasn't done for today's marvel game.

Pot splitting is and will always be prevalent in competitive gaming (and not to mention games like poker). Making the payouts more even is one way to help address this. Keeping the payouts the same and "threatening" the players for chopping isn't going to get the community anywhere either.

I actually started beechifying my avatar on friday, but then I realized what I was doing and immediately punched myself in the face for justice. How does it feel to lose your dignity, BeechGAF?

But seriously, I expected this thing to be a vacation/tournament, which is what it was. The viewers weren't able to get a clear understanding of what the event was about because only one part of the experience (the tournament) was shown. I think that's probably one of the main reasons the viewers are expressing their disappointment now. However, streaming a bunch of the non-gaming related stuff would be a huge pain in the ass to pull off, which is probably why it wasn't done. Also, people just want to relax and not have their entire lives recorded.

The only thing that surprised me was how the marvel finals were sandbagged so blatantly, especially considering how much drama that sort of thing has caused in the past. If you wanna be WWEsports, then at least try to make it look real so people's intelligence doesn't get insulted. People are focusing on that quick payday instead of looking a the big picture. I feel bad for Haunts and Combo because they probably worked hard on this event.

You make it seem like we had any dignity in the first place!
