3DS Streetpass Experiences

Mansion is so good, even just using coin-hired cat characters.

I just blew through about 30 coins as I upgraded weapons and cleared floors.

Just got a 3DS XL and turned this feature on during setup. Not even entirely sure how it works (you just leave your DS on and walk around with it?) but I live in a largish city so I'm hoping I get a few hits, at the very least.

Pretty much. You should also make sure you're up to date on firmware and you've downloaded all available updates for Streetpass Mii Plaza, as well as turned on the SpotPass feature so you get all content updates for it whenever you're on Wi-Fi.

Also, I'm sure you've already done this, but make a Mii and make sure you set it to shareable via StreetPass. If you have any games that use StreetPass, you have to play them until the game asks you to activate the feature (varies from game to game).

Guys I have a confession to make...sometimes I like to put the Epona hat on my Mii and pretend that I am Rob Stark the day after the red wedding.

Also Animal Crossing has made a world of difference in the number of streetpasses I have been getting. Now they just need to get the Nintendo zone thing working and I might have a chance of taking over the world in warriors way.

I haven't had my 3DS for a bit, stop taking a charge so I sent it back to Nintendo. I had it on me walking through Sacramento and actually got like 4 streetpasses. I was surprised.

Went to San-Diego and completed all the puzzles. I LOVE the Xenoblade one since I'm a huge fan of the game. These puzzles are one of the best things about the 3DS.

Just caught up on the Nintendo Direct mini and this is slightly old news.

I found the description of the streetpass relay interesting. It is the last person to visit the zone whose data you will get and then your data will replace theirs.

I can see a problem of doing a Nintendo Zone tour of the local area and running into the same person multiple times (which like real streetpassing means only 1 hit) or leaving that for the next person. I guess we have to hope Nintendo foresaw people will visit multiple zones for more hits.

I just found a few of those Nintendo zones in my area. Do I actually have to go to three places like Starbucks and log in on my 3DS? Or can I pass by it for a tag like any other 3DS user?

So I'm unable to get the M&L Dream Team panel. I have no idea what the problem is but I don't think I have it and it's not letting me get it. I hear there is a bug or something?

I got the new update and got a piece for Xenoblade. Then I got another spotpass last week and it gave me one for NSMBU and NSLU but not Dream Team :(

Guess I'm going to have to streetpass someone that has the puzzle? :(

edit: Apparently they send you out a random new puzzle that you don't have instead of just the new one coming out. Way to be dumb Nintendo :(

That's the key question that will decide if it will be awesome or worthless.

If I have to be take the 3DS out and log-in to Nintendo Zone I won't do it.

If it works like regular Streetpass I'll get more passes than I can handle.

I'd still do it every now and then even if I'd have to start the Nintendo Zone app.

I'm that desperate.

A 3DS auto connects to a Nintendo zone (provided wireless is on), right?

In that case the system update would be for it to execute a Streetpass to a Web URL (based off that particular zone) using that access point once detected. As a result I would expect it to be somewhat slower than normal Streetpass but in principle should be automatic.

I just hope they get clever and check if you already/still exist in a different zone before you take over that point (that would solve the problem I outlined above).

They had better release Streetpass Foursquare.

I wanna be the Mayor of the Birmingham McDonalds Nintendo Zone. Give me plaza tickets for taking over the entire city.

I carry my 3ds in my class/work/gym bag basically every single day and haven't had a single street pass in the 2 months or so I've had it.

Damn. Not sure if I like this.
I regularly street pass with 3 family members. We all live in the same city and regularly pass the 2 local McDonald's. If only one sp is stored at a time, there's a good chance that I'll be using McDonald's to sp with people that I would sp with anyways, rendering it nearly useless and not really increasing the number of hits that I get.

Once you buy a hat from the exchange booth it won't appear in there again.

Good! Thanks.

Doesn't matter other than for aesthetics. The medieval one looks better in my opinion though.

Yeah, I know it's just thematic, but knowing it can't ever be changed made it tough for me to decide. I ultimately went with medieval, though.

After having played all but Spooky Manor, I gotta say, these are worth $15 for the bundle. Not too bad at all. I'll probably play them for a few minutes daily for a long time.

Too bad flower town is all fictitious flowers, though! As long as I'm doing this, it would've been fun to actually learn real things while I'm at it.

I agree. 3 out of the 4 games in the bundle are worth it. Flower Town sucks but thats mainly because it takes too long. Mii Forces takes a while too but at least a good chunk of that time is spent shooting things.
The army one and the haunted mansion are my favorites.

Got the last fight in battle done with 160k battlers.

finally!

edit:

why the fuck do people hate on garden? do you guys even play more then the initial few rounds?

it's awesome!

I think I finally decided to skip Garden and Warrior's. They seem fine, and I admit I am kinda interested in the Garden, but frankly playing 5 games every time I get a StreetPass just seems way too daunting and time consuming. So Mii Force and Monster Manor it is. I'll start with Mii Force and pick up the other a bit later.

NOOOOOOO.....Zeer! you need to buy 'em all!

... to get all Hats! ALL HATS!!!

Yeah, sitting and doing pretty much nothing sounds super overwhelming.

Holy crap, Mii Force is so good. @_@

It also really reminds me of the shooter levels from Kirby's Epic Yarn, which I loved. This has Good-Feel's fingerprints all over it, and that's awesome.

I think it's neat, but you can 'play' it with your eyes closed while holding R + A.

Sometimes I wish I had let all my MK7 opponent Miis come to my Plaza. There's still around 70 of them, but I deleted some and turned Invite Mii off to prevent more from coming. Now I really can't do anything in the Warrior game...

How do you team up with other Miis in Monster Manor? I am on the 5th floor and I haven't been able to (or I missed the option).

Not really and that isn't the point of the game at all (otherwise, adventure games would be about how fast you can advance the text).
Flower town is mostly about collecting (seeds, flowers, gardens, vases and furniture) and finding the correct combination of seeds to get the desired results.

Sometimes, when you place a piece the Mii that gave you the piece can show up inside and will join you for an ATK/DEF boost until you run out of Miis. This only happens with Streetpassed Miis and not with Cats or Dogs. I'm also guessing the larger the room you make, the higher the chance of the Mii showing up.

I love Flower Town. I just wish we could plant more than one seed at a time. I keep selling my seeds, because I have no room in my seed drawers. I seem to be growing a green daffodil at the moment. It's like I want to collect them all.

I only got 9 StreetPasses at work today, instead of the usual 10. Now I have to hire a mercenary in Mii Force to max out my damage potential.

First World Problems.

Because even after you have played it multiple times Mendel will still give you the same lengthy tutorial text every time you start it up until you grow a flower (which could take a lot of start ups depending on your streetpasses) or reach some other arbitrary goal, and this happens over and over as the game seemingly never stops explaining new things to you or repeating the same things you already know.

It's the very worst of Nintendo's lengthy tutorials and constant repeating of stuff they don't need to tell you summed up in one game.
