He also thinks that the general advice for 'start locals, play games, meet people' was 'invite total strangers at your house specifically and expect no trouble ever'.

Although I like my Smart tv I bought it cause it had 1080p and 3 hdmi outlets. I went to the Hulu plus app and it was still in the old format as oppose to the new one it changed to.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of just bringing my phone or tablet along with chromecast to watch a stream at a friend's house. I don't think I can load up streams in either's browser (although I do have chrome on both).

I do most of my stream watching on my phone and tablet now that I think about it.
 
It's too bad TotalBiscuit isn't interested in fighters. Getting him to talk up Yatagarasu would definitely give the IGG a nice bump.

Intentionally staying out of the Marvel patch stuff in the OT. Haven't played the game as much or as long as the regulars, and I really can't keep up with that thread as much as I'd like to. And I am too jaded about the possibility to even participate really, so I'm just trying to scheme OT4 thread titles here instead.

Sloth - yeah, I'd love to see it expand to more apps & also to the lower end Chromebooks. I have the cheap Samsung one & that's where I do the majority of my stream watching. Would love a Pixel but $$$$, geez.

GAF has always been Sony-centric. I like Cerny too, hell I'd still rather get a PS4 than an X1 any day of the week, but shit has been embarrassing this past few months. Number of GameFAQs-esque threads have skyrocketed. Console Wars in full effect.

You weren't here for the last console shift were you? Regardless of which way things swing get ready for at least another year of this, because then everyone will be making the post launch success/failure threads for a while. Similar to what has been happening with Wii U threads for a while, but on a way bigger scale.

Nah, I was at GameSpot at those times (which is GameFAQs).. which is what makes it all reminiscent.

The Wii U analogy is a good one though. I hate the damn thing but can't post in those threads anymore because it's still the same song and dance.

This implies there's a war to be fought.

In any case, Sony and Nintendo fans make up the majority of GAF and Microsoft comes in at 3rd... that's how it has been for a really long time. I think Sony fans might be more but Nintendo fans can get really rabid and outspoken. Right now Sony is on good shape so the fanboys are thumping their chest while they can.

I remember GAF shitting on Sony pre-PS3 launch, and pretty much all the way up until the Kinect release. Tides slowly shifted towards Sony. Upon the announcement of the PS4, GAF went HAM and 90% converted to the Sony way.

I love console wars because of how embarrassing they are. :(
 
Sony deserved to be shit on for the pre-PS3 era same as Microsoft deserved to be shit on for the pre-Xbox One era. Sometimes it's the long time fans that backlash the hardest.

Right now the whole scene seems to be-

Theory Fighter Wars over the obscure 'maybe' delivered by guys who just wanted to get out of Comicon Alive, MM or STFU, Nemo getting two A+'s on his homework and exposing who most would say would be the top 2 guys in the US....

To me, the twitter fights over the non-existent patch dynamics is great.

Like the actual playing of the game doesn't get people as competitive and spunky as battling over concepts via twitter



...maybe it's all the new facial hair floating around.
 
The drama over the patch has been quite hilarious although it's hard to see if the patch momentum would last an entire OT.

I think it will.

It's great Microsoft is making a change before the hardware is out. A lot of people still defend The Cell.
