I haven't played the games since the first one, but I remember him having a pretty great pre-battle shit talk where he talks about how awesome he is and the screen shakes after every sentence. Or I think it did. There was definitely some sort of "rumbling" sound effect.

I think it's the slow season in the Carribean this time of year, so I think the strategy behind this event is to fill rooms and try to take everyone's money in the casino. I think they are just trying avoid greater losses trying to bring more people to the island. The tournament probably isn't meant to be profitable.
Of course, they are probably hoping to grow the event into something bigger as well, gotta start somewhere.

Yeah I suppose that's true. But Guilty Gear's heavy metal influence gave it so much more character. I miss that in Blazblue.

It has been all downhill post CS.
Load times are better on PS2, even if not everything carried over.
Also, the Saturn pad isn't really that good for playing MMX.

FMV is less grainier on PS1, transparencies are rainbow-colored on Saturn, Saturn version has heat wave effects for the far background of Sky Lagoon 2 and Magma Dragoon's stage (whoop-de-friggin'-do!), the BGM for the intro stage boss and Frost Walrus 2 has an extra second of crescendo on the Saturn version and the BGM from what I've heard loops indefinitely on Saturn, whereas it has a beginning and end on PS1.
Besides that, they're just about the same, visually, audiowise, gameplay, etc. PS1 will probably cost you less
now if we're talking the MM8 Saturn vs PS1 version...lol

Yup I honestly don't like half the cast visually but there is typically one character someone likes.
Bang/Makoto/Mu*non battlemode*/Izayoi/Relius/Terumi/Hazama/Valk/Haku are all my favorites visually
Considering a lot of BB characters aim towards one fetish, of course there's at least one character someone likes.

If you are going to say the game has bad art direction that refers to the whole package, which would be flat out wrong.
