Castlevania: Lords of Shadow PC DEMO THREAD - 07/30/2013

Oh man, that gif got me. So glad we get a demo! Hope my lappy can run it.

The PS3 version was a present from my father so I always felt guilty for not finishing it. Framerate was a deal breaker for me though I loved about everything else.

Now I can finally correct a years-old wrong, lift the weight of that guilt and become the man I've always wanted to be - at a stable framerate.

Also, is LOS2 something to be excited for? I've been avoided all coverage because of DLC spoilers.

You can expect that. :)

I'll complain, and nothing can stop me!

(It has Castlevania on it's name, of course I'll get, no matter how bad the game is)

As far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier, as it enriches discussion and you're not obnoxiously negative.

I'm obnoxiously positive but I'm working on it

How realistic is to expect mods on this game? I would be interested in mods to correct some problems I have with the game. A music swapping one for example (or at least one to make the battle theme not play every fucking time).

Oh yes, OH YES you should. Two Worlds: Open. World.

Thay say that... but I'm expecting it to be more non-linear than Open World. These two things are different. It's like Batman Arkham Asylum vs Batman Arkham City.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I loved the linearity in LOS1 and wished it were more linear. It almost had a sort of stage-based feel, but was still too "big" to really carry that feeling home completely.

That said I hope they pull this off, but I dunno. Mirror of Fate tried to do the open ended castle thing but the execution was kinda sloppy (though I still liked it). I just hope that their idea of an open world castle differs from their idea of the open world castle from Mirror of Fate.

The music implementation was my biggest problem with the first one. I thought the music itself was terrific, but they had no idea how to incorporate it into the game. It had a "playlist" feel to it, as the soundtrack would just play random cues. It needed to be way more focused than it was, the music needed to be more designated to specific areas and situations.

See I can be objective, damn it.

I'm not much excited for the open world Castle, but the open world city? yes please-

Hope they have some nice options. Game should look beautiful with Anti-Aliasing and smooth FPS. Actually it should look startlingly good.

There is no 27th month THIS IS FALSE informations.

What's up with the US system? Why don't they use the regular system, since that makes sense? Day, month, year.

Never grabbed this due to the framerate, but hearing the trailer and that wonderful voicework and now it's gonna be on PC, oh boy. :X

There will be, man I thought you've been following the game, I thought we were pals :(

I've been following the game, but I swear I thought they said that most of it was in the castle. Here's hoping they can translate the gothic tone of the series into the modern setting.

Most of it, but the city is the 30% of the game, and hey, it's interesting to say the least.

Um, huh, modern?

Is this my cue to bail from the thread in spoiler fear or is 2 unrelated?

Isn't this included free with LoS2? I've been putting off another play through in anticipation of 1080p/60FPS on HTPC...

I don't think so. Would be a cool incentive though. Maybe pre orders will go up soon for LoS2 on steam before LoS release. Maybe it'll have tiered incentives?

I bought this game last week for my PS3, lol. :( Ah well, I'll double dip.

I completed the game on PS3 at release, you should definitely play the PC version instead. Two problems I can think about regarding this game, one is technical 'problems' and that the game drags on for too long, other than that I liked it. So by playing the PC version you'll eliminate one problem, if the port isn't awful.
