This is pretty damn epic.

Oh damn can't wait for this. Never played console version expect the demo. This will be a treat hoping it to run nicely.

E3 spoiled the ending of this game for me and thanks for that, but I'm still looking forward to it.

Don't worry, you do know the ending, but you still probably don't know anything about the first game's story. Knowing what you know will not spoil the journey at all, but if I try to talk more about it I will spoil you, so yeah, you're fine.

You know which part of the game would make an AWESOME demo? The Witch's Tower. Both levels of it. It condenses all good about the game.

I agree, that's one of the best parts of the game and where it starts to feel closer to the sort of atmosphere and gothic tone you expect from the series.

Funny Disappointing how this game gets killed for the framerate but games like Dark Souls and Dragons Dogma get a complete pass. Lords of Shadow dipped but it was never as bad as the Souls games or Dogma. Dark Souls dips were insane and Dogma was maybe the most unoptimized piece of shit I've ever played.

Anyways, for those of you who haven't played it and are open to a new take on Castlevania you're in for a treat. Its got whips and QTEs that as close to GoW as it gets. If GoW wasn't shit it would probably be like LoS. Hell, GoW is a fucking Rygar clone. It all comes down to a non-Japanese studio rebooting a Japanese I.P. and not being the Metroidvania rehash the fanbase wants though; that's where the majority of the hate comes from.

I want this demo now. I have this game for the 360, but was constantly annoyed by the performance. I was in love with the art and aesthetics.

This post has both things I agree completely with and things I disagree completely with. I'm utterly conflicted.

I'll be fucking get this!

What, so you can complain about the game @ 60fps now? :p

There was never not an instance of people bitching endlessly about Blighttown in Dark Souls.

The ending is overrated. There's a cool twist but it is far from the best thing about the game.
I have to disagree a bit, sure the game is awesome, and the story was cool, but it was the epilogue that threw me off balance, it was totally unexpected.

I hope the demo isn't the console demo, as it was the worst part of the game

well this is indeed troublesome, I noticed how most hack n slash // action adventure titles demos suck, it is due to being the beginning of the game where it lacks the depth it offers later on, then again I am not sure one could really explore the combat without starting from square one.

the PC is a powerful device. It allows us to see through God's eyes

i play this just for the art and music...

The DmC demo was pretty good about that actually. Gave you enough to play around with the game's mechanics, but not enough to spoil everything.

Too bad it ran like absolute shit and made me decide to wait for the PC version, no matter how long I had to wait.

Sadly, I dont think I gave this game a fair chance on consoles. only played till the forest area. Looking forward to a second shot.

I have to agree, DmC demo comes to mind in terms of a good demo, probably Lords of Shadow 2 will have a good demo as well, assuming we get the E3 demo so we will have all of Dracul's powers.

Not just Blightown. I experienced massive frame-rate drops early in the game. I didn't even get to Blighttown before I stopped playing it.

I'm just pointing out that Dark Souls did very much get blasted for at least one area of the game where the framerate was well below subpar. I played it on the PC, so it's not like I ever noticed.

It was a surprise, but it did nothing for me.

Gabriel being Dracula was great -- the scene taking place in modern times was just kind of like, whatever IMO

I have read that this game is about ten billion hours too long. Demo better be fucking fantastic to make me invest time into it.

Not in my opinion. Some people think the beginning is too slow and that the final third is drawn out for too long, but I thought the final third was amazing with terrific atmosphere and was crucial to providing the game with a three act structure and it also heavily related to Gabriel's character development. To me, the last hours of the game are the best. It feels like an epic, yet desolate and moody character journey. It does contain the worst section of the game though, but it's not too long.

Hell if there's one thing that concerns me about Lords 2, it's that it's not going to touch that long hero's journey from the original. It's good that it'll be different, but that's what I liked the most about the first one.

oh I know how some people have reservation when it comes to modern times, I was skeptical but pushed it away due to faith in MercurySteam.

It's not that I was skeptical about it, but rather that I just felt like it was there for the sole reason of being a surprise. However, the sequel may justify it, we'll see.

As someone said, the ending minutes of LoS (pre-final battle and onwards) has probably the highest density of plot twists ever in all media.

yup, and I hope we spend some considerable time in old ages as well.

Indeed, it got my head spinning
from Zobak, to Satan, to the god mask, to Dracul
, pretty great, I love twists in stories.

That's... a stretch. The only real shockers were
Gabriel being Dracula, and then the modern setting
... the rest felt pretty obvious or par for the course.
