Seriosuly, I can't tell if you and Kagari are trolling or telling the truth and the worst part is I don't put it past SE to do something like that.
I don't think I have any reason to troll something of this nature... or any nature for that matter.

It's all about the based Yoshi-P right now!
Author needs some serious ARR dosage, yo.
When was this discussed, I must have missed it. Even the gameplay? it looked plausible.
No they can't.. if they re do the game they'll have to recreate everything from scratch.
This include new textures , new backgrounds ( the old ones are at a very low resolutions ) , new cinematics and of course new animations( battle and field ) do you have any idea how much work that would be ?
The nostalgia only get you so far .... This was possible with ff10 because the gap is not that big between ps2 & ps3 ( but with FF7 ? no way there is nothing to salvage in this game to help a remaster , they would have to restart from scratch )
Not to mention that they probably lost their original assets from back then.

X-2 was great. Why do you think it was a travesty?
Heres an excerpt from a question-and-answer session on July 27 with Nobuhiro Goto and Motomu Toriyama, developers of the next game in the series, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
![]()
Q: Has [main character] Lightning gone from a C cup to a D cup?
Goto: Well, Toriyama-san said he wanted them bigger, so
Toriyama: Hey, dont try to escape responsibility for this!
Goto: Yes, we made them bigger.
Q. Was it a C cup, up until now? Are her breasts going to jiggle, this time?
Goto: Yes!
Toriyama: It depends on the clothing. Like if shes wearing corrective underwear.
Dengeki Onlines report of the event noted further that since players can choose Lightnings costume and weaponry, they can ensuretheir preferred amount and duration of boob jiggling through judicious equipment selection. If you want to get a better view of all those mammarial undulations, one developer noted, just have her hold a smaller shield!
It's very easy to superimpose a HUD over cg video :O![]()
This is gameplay right.....RIGHT?
wait you guys are telling me that the "gameplay" trailer of final fantasy 15 wasn't really gameplay at all?!?
You didn't play it wrong. The game was designed wrong. There are design choices that the game implements where it's fundamentally flawed. Paradigm Shift in combination with the difficulty of the game is one of them.
Hell, HD mods that are out now do most of the stuff you are saying is 'hard'
There are plenty of situation in ff13 where you have to change your paradigm to win properly.
Sur going all comando works ,but the difference between being bored during 6 minutes and changing paradigms, finish the fight in 40 second and getting a 5 star result is there.
All the optional fights in ff13 required you to change paradigm to win them btw.
The best thing about Final Fantasy is . . they are stand alone games. Don't like one? Come back for the next one, it'll be all new.
He is also talking about the gameplay trailer, which was in real-time. The gameplay trailer only had a few seconds at end, that were target render, particularly this Leviathan out of water scene and the Behemoth stealth scene. The E3 trailer had about 12 seconds of real time footage. It was discussed in this thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=67106156&postcount=389
Squarsoft made FFX-2. Just sayin.
This was fine until the games started taking eight fucking years+ to be made. The best thing about Final Fantasy is . . they are stand alone games. Don't like one? Come back for the next one, it'll be all new.
I'll buy it in the bargain bin when it's $5.
I was playing Final Fantasy since the first one. They started to lose me at FF 7 and finally did at 10. Maturity won't help it. They need to remove all the jpop boyband crap and go back to their roots. Swords, shields, magic, monsters and massive environments to explore. No more guns and modern environments.

While I love Souls, not every game needs to be Souls. Part of the reason Souls works so well is that it feels unique. But the real problem here is: the target audience FF aims is no longer the same west FF fans belong now. Lots of people grew with FF games but no longer the themes and the arstyle resonate with them, we need more maturity in themes, designs that aren't offensive to our eyes, they need to look to the Dark Souls games and see how it's done (DS success is partially in how well it blended western fantasy with their own japanese touch).
Ruining an established character, the plot, the writing, the art, the J-poop music.

Taking a dramatic new direction with art style and characters might solve that problem. XV is at least making strides in that area.

Maybe that's the problem with Final Fantasy; because it is so famous and popular among JRPGs, the cliches in it are associated with the cliches in JRPGs. Taking a dramatic new direction with art style and characters might solve that problem. XV is at least making strides in that area.
Is there really anything surprising in showing a target render of a next-gen game? I mean... most of companies did and do the same in current and past E3s. Not to the "infamous" level of Sony E3 2005 but most of them do that.
And also: where's the problem? Target renders suggest what they're aiming for. We all get hyped when companies just show us teaser FMVs, at least with target renders we touch the engine a bit![]()
Paradigm system might as well have been non-existent. The game didn't force you to use paradigms at all with the exception of the final boss.

Right, and it's pretty obvious they're using PS3-level models in that video. They look decidedly worse than the target rendered scenes.
The problem, Perfo, is it's been 7 years since this game was revealed. They should be past relying on target renders,

Obviously this doesn't count for XIII and its direct sequels, for which they picked the most horrible game to start making multiple sequels.

the battles were fun and challenging. kayos saying he didnt had to use paradigms until the last boss is the biggest bullshit i have ever seen on gaf.
VIII is just as much of a Final Fantasy as VII. If you're going to say the series betrayed it's style, then you better lump VII in there too since that game was literally the biggest change to the franchise.
I'm not seeing how VIII set up the jail-bait stereotype. Please do enlighten me.
