yea they confirmed no new hair on phase 4 or actual release. But they are adding barber shop where they will have lots of new hairs after the release.

D: Damn it, this will affect what race I'll choose, I wanted to see if there will be additional hair that I like for my Roegadyn.

Wow @ this new benchmark. The optimization work that Squenix and Nvidia have apparently done is crazy. The lowest framerate in this benchmark is now double of what I was seeing with the old benchmark. In the old benchmark I was getting drops to 25-27 fps at certain points, here the lowest I saw was 59 fps while watching FRAPS! And there are additional visual effects in this benchmark which weren't in the old one, including more battle effects and better lighting!

If this performance is representative of the final client, then this thing is ready for launch. But it's okay if Phase 4 doesn't start for awhile, I need to spend more time creating the perfect kitty. :3

just want to make sure. I should have registered that code they emailed me on NA S-E's site, right? Want to make sure they'ren ot like 'oh no that's the wrong site you used your code up'

I hit about 7000 points average, as I ran the benchmark three times.

- Everything on max @ 1080
- All max, Shadows on med @ 1080
- All max, Shadows on med, Shadow Cascade on med @ 1080

Got about 7150 on the third try.

Running on:
i7 920
6GB DDR3 memory
GTX 670.

I have no idea why I'm scoreing relatively low, could it be my memory that's causing the problem?

edit:
What's this I hear about a new benchmark?

Wait, I thought Ishgard wouldn't be ready until a major content patch after launch? All the pictures I'm seeing on the main website makes it look like it's ready to go.

The pictures on the main website aren't from Ishgard (as in, the City-State) but from Gate of Judgement and/or Camp Dragonhead (they both appear in the latest 'a Tour of Eorzea' video). I think Ishgard itself will remained sealed off until later.

Ah okay, that makes sense now that I look at the pictures more closely.

my score seems too high.

I am using 660ti, and the first benchmark I got 6454 points, and now with new one I got this score. Both 1920X1080 Maximum setting. I did update my driver since the first benchmark, but not the latest one.

I don't trust this benchmark anymore though. Every beta I tried the game ran pretty bad framerate wise, especially in towns it was just horrible.

And my GTX 580 isn't 4048 mb, it's 1.5 gb. And my CPU has been overclocked to 4.1 ghz.

Open beta will be the last time I'll try the game, see if it runs any better. Have no hopes though.

Daaamn 12k. I'm gonna do a run through with SGSSAA if I can get it working on the benchmark and see how that effects my score.

someone posted 20k+ score on the jp new benchmark thread with sli 780
didn't post the picture though, just copy and paste but still...

Hit 10066 with some custom settings. Still, the lack of a V-Sync option is killing me...forcing it through AMD Catalyst didn't seem to do anything? = (

8GB RAM.
CPU goes to 4.3GHz when necessary with the boosting stuff.

I'm guessing windowed vs fullscreen effects performance somewhat.

Use d3doverrider. It's what i use instead of relying on ingame vsync in every game since vsync seems to be the biggest problem to implement properly.

Neato, they've got a FFXIV theme. Man, I really miss fan themes. Too bad the native theme support in Win7 sucks otherwise there would be a chocobo as the cursor.

Took five download attempts, but I finally downloaded it.

TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Dang, that's some really impressive optimization work. I'm glad I didn't run out to grab a new CPU now. I'll save until I can get an i7, or a Steamroller, or whatever.

Cheers!

Using d3doverrider brought me down from 10000 to 7500, but it's worth it. Fuck screen tearing SO HARD.

My performance is MUCH better than with the last benchmark. 78 average framerate while with the old benchmark it was 53. This is on stock 3570k and 660ti.

As expected, SGSSAA murdered my score. From the 10500 I posted earlier to this Custom settings are disabled FXAA (because with SGSSAA it's not necessary) and enabled occlusion culling (because I can't think of a reason you'd ever want it disabled).

Game looks so pretty with no jaggies though.

Pretty happy. I have no idea how it compares to the last benchmark for me, though, since I had a GTX 560 Ti back then. Still need to get more than 4GB of RAM. (._. )
EDIT: My CPU is overclocked to 4.2 GHz. I see that isn't mentioned. Might be important info, dunno.

Pretty darn happy myself, averaging 68fps is more than I could've asked for with my rig.

Incidentally, do you really think more than 4GB of system RAM would make a measurable difference with this game?

I don't know. But it's the one aspect of my system I'm not really happy with right now.

Still undecided on my hairstyle (and skin color) but my character'll look like this when I can remake him.

Any ETA on when the new build will be available for download?
Not really, but probably some time during next week. Can't be much later than that.
