I have many acquired tastes but I don't think this music will ever be one of them.

that's an odd stance - you never had an album/sound grow on you, or maybe resonate more at a later point? ive rediscovered entire genres i wasn't receptive to at various bits in my life, and with hip hop alone, i can say that as a kid i was initially thrown off of even Enter the 36 Chambers, its brilliance took some time to sink in...might just be me though.

It's using samples, it has an MC, and it's polished. It was also signed to a major label.

I'm a lifelong musician and I love DG. Mostly I love how they incorporate all genres i like into one in their music. HipHop Rock Hardcore Electronic Punk... its crazy, Ive never heard anything like them. Also their lyrics are insightful and hard-hitting.

Sure it may just sound like noise at first, but when you listen there is real musicianship going on in the creation (and i can only imagine the PERFORMANCE) of these songs.

I'm sure people liked the songs, which I don't care about one way or another, but some of these posts read like a parody of people who get really emotional about their choices in music. Some people need to read their own posts and ask themselves "Have I've become that guy?"

Yep. Just because you can fuse different musical genres that have been fused before doesn't mean you are somehow pushing the genre forward.

I'm not really a fan of what I have heard from the Death Grips. That doesn't make me an uncultured simpleton. I just don't like something.

Kaufman would have actually showed up to his scheduled performances. He would mess with the audience and he might not perform the routine that you wanted to see, but I don't believe he made a habit of standing people up.

He actually did a lot of cheap college shows.

The Death Grips form of social experiments involves them fucking over their fans and being too cowardly to do it to their face. Kaufman stood in the middle of the storms and hate he received. He reveled in it and it was almost always a part of his act. He tried to make himself the villain during his wrestling days.

From what I read on the Death Grips, they seem to just flake out or get better opportunities, so they just shit on their fans who pretend that getting shit on is some honor or some longer game. They are geniuses to the indoctrinated and assholes to everyone else. It may be the same with Kaufman, but I respect people that don't do stunts behind the protection of a PA announcer.
