Yeah graphics for the time were incredible for X and the battle system is fine. The plot and characters are mostly awful, except for Jecht and Auron.

All your points were valid but I know you know they all had good moments and good aspects to them, the game on the whole was a great experience for me. Not always second-to-second gameplay (as with most RPGS imo) but the whole thing was an excellent followup to 7 and 9 for me.

The story had some loops and some standard dum ff stuff, but that's what people want...let's not forget the fmvs too

Dj max technika needs a price drop, I won't be getting that for quite some time. Max 3 needs a price drop as well, overcharging probably cause its the digital version and thy know you can't get the cart for vita.

Don't hold your breath. It's expensive because of the licensed songs/videos.

That game will most likely be removed from the Store (because of their licenses expiring) before it ever gets a price cut.
 
Guys, which one of the Rayman PS1 games work on PSV? They are on sale so i am thinking of nabbing Origins, Rayman 1 and Rayman 2. I have nostalgic moments with 1 and 2.

Sometimes, but not always. EU had Flying Hamster, Frobisher Says, Velocity Ultra, etc. MONTHS before they came to NA. So it's not that.

I never said that Deus Ex (or any of those games) should have a worse review score because they're older. :P

What I'm saying is PS+ in NA is pulling the same bullshit these "free games for Gold" on XBL are -- they just gave out Crackdown. That game is at least 5 years old. If you own a 360 and wanted to play Crackdown, odds are you already did. Especially since you could buy it used for <$10 years ago. Giving us games that have been on sale 83 times or that are 2-3 years old is really not doing much for gamers who actually play games.

As I said above, the people who wanted the "good" games have probably already played them and beat them or they had no interest in them to begin with.

I'm pretty sure there's a large subset of PS+ subscribers that have both platforms. For those people (like me and I assume antibolo), it's a slap in the face because it's a game we already have and played if we wanted to. It takes up a slot and adds no value to our subscription making us feel like we're paying for nothing.
 
Do we know if Dragon's Crown will get a discount on digital?

I just cancelled my pre-order on Dragon's Crown, I've decided to buy both versions but will get them both digital so I can minimize the total price. (Even if there's no discount at all I still avoid sales tax.)

We should be wary of that by now, and they won't stop doing that anytime soon. Like, I won't buy BTR2 now, because they will offer the Vita version later on.

It's Atlus, it probably won't have a discount.
 
Posted this in the PS Plus thread and didn't get a response...

Just got the Vita and I love it. But I have a quick question...

When I'm downloading a game, and my Vita goes to sleep and I don't turn it back on after a couple seconds the download pauses. How do I keep the game downloading even when the Vita has fallen asleep?

And I have both platforms but have zero interest in playing Machinarium or JSR on PS3 where they were free first so they are saving me money.

Download is paused only when you push button to put vita in sleep mode.
Just let it go to sleep on it's own from inactivity while downloading and it shouldn't pause downloads.

It's annoying man. The way I've been doing it, if I'm downloading something, I won't put it to sleep until after it's done. Wastes battery like a mother though. I'm sure there's a better way to do it, but I don't remember how.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work for me. I had to restart Killzone three times in order to get the thing fully downloaded.

This isn't always the case. It seems I have had some larger games still pause even if it sleeps due to inactivity.

It happens man. Just live in the moment. I bought mortal kombat for 40 and the game was sold for 5 bucks a couple weeks back. I regret nothing.
 
I never understood that. My Vita keeps downloading regardless of how it enters sleep mode. It's been doing that since day 1. One of the updates disabled it though, but it got re-enabled with the following update.

Yup, up until recently (might have been tied to the most recent firmware) it was flawless but it seems hit and miss now if it carries on when automatically entering sleep mode.
 
Not a bad PS+ update for me. Escape Vector looks cool and Rayman is great. I wanted to see how bad the new Hitman was as well. I have Machinarium on PC but I want to try it on the Vita.

Alternative is to just keep playing while something downloads ;)

Gah if P4G doesn't show up on PS+ soon ... I might cave :/

It's random for me. Some times it pauses, some times it doesn't.
 
Jesus SCEA, you suck...
How hard is it to give Rayman Origins as a PS+ title? I'm gonna buy it for 6.75$ but I'll be really pissed if they give it away for free in September.

I mean SCEE suscribers got Unit 13, Rayman Origins, Mortal Kombat, MGS HD as high profile games, but SCEA won't give us any high profile titles like those. instead,
we get Foosball & Zombie Tycoon 2 and WAY too many PSP titles...

Again SCEA, you suck... next time I'm getting SCEE account.
 
As far as the download pausing issue goes, for months now my Vita stops a download when I let it go into standby on its own. If I press the button, the download continues. It's just another thing that was broken for many people with firmware updates that still hasn't been fixed.

If your download is pausing, try hitting the button for standby. If it's pausing when you hit the button, let it go into standby on its own.

Yeah, it's kinda of like finding all the kerotan or completing the game with no alerts to get the optical stealth camo in Metal Gear Solid 3. If you use the stealth camo, or any other special, unlockable items, it negates your ability to get the highest ranks possible, no matter how skillfully you play.

The outfits are there as a toy. Something to indulge in and see what kind of fun you can have, or compete on the outfit-assisted leaderboard times. They can also be helpful for people trying to go back in to find the hidden Helix in each level.
 
I don't mind PSP fighters in general, but I truly dislike when they give out free games that have either:

A) Been available on Plus / Sales on another Sony system.
B) Give away Vita games that have ports all across other systems.

If they at least would give away some Vita / PSP Exclusives, it'd be nice. But Darkstalkers just got a re-release on PSN/XBLA... Machinarium has been in Plus for PS3 before too, hasn't it? And if not, it's been cheap an easy to get in HIB's, and such.

How do titles like this help add value, when a large portion of gamers probably already have them in some fashion?

It'd also be nice if they gave out multiple PSP games (or even just PSP Game + A solid Mini), to make up for it not being a Vita game / giving away something rather old.

I also wouldn't mind seeing some of the recent PSP releases (Like Generations of Chaos: Pandora Reflection, or Carnage Heart) make it to Plus, because it'd probably have a positive effect on letting people know "HEY, New PSP games still come out! Keep a look out for them!".

The sad thing is that they're such a painful tease for the fighting games Vita should be getting. It should've had bespoke entries in Tekken, Soul Calibur, and Street Fighter by now.

And that TxSF poo-stain doesn't count :-p

Just a technical point: JSR was free first on Vita. The PS3 version was given out in the last month or so.
 
I hope a new firmware update comes out that makes wifi more reliable. I still get disconnected randomly. I'd also like to see better html5 support if we aren't getting flash.

Then you shouldn't be part of the conversation if you're an EU PS+ member. I don't think they really pull this bullshit with you guys -- they give you Limbo for PS3 and then you get the Vita version free -- the general hatred in this conversation is for NA PS+. :P

Eventually, but not at launch. I'd probably pick up Murmasa for $35 before I grabbed Dragon's Crown. I'm not totally feeling the brawler genre at the moment, as I'm knee-deep in P4G and the Killzone beta, so I'm in no rush... something about the impressions/reviews make me want the Vita version but put me in no rush to get it.
 
To get or not to get Rayman Origins? I've read that Legends will have 40 remastered leves from Origins, which is most of that game. Ugh!
 
I'm thinking of getting Urban Trials for 4.49€, yay or nay?

I love the Trials games from Redlynx and the demo is pretty decent. Is there enough content?
