Now we already had a month celebrating him a couple of months ago, so I'd like the focus of this thread be the reason he died:

On 14 July 2011, Shavershian's brother Said was arrested for possession of anabolic steroids,[8] to which after Aziz's death he pleaded guilty.[1][24] The Sydney Morning Herald covered the case, and included a photo of Aziz.[8] Aziz objected to the use of his picture to illustrate what was essentially an article on the misuse of anabolic steroids.[9]

When asked by The Daily Telegraph, Aziz denied ever using steroids, and claimed that his body shape was due to hard work in the gym and a strict diet.[22] According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the company which employed Aziz as a stripper maintained that he was a lovely guy, "aside from the steroids".[25] Shavershian often used phrases such as "riding bicycles" that according to The Daily Telegraph is "gym slang for using a cycle of steroids".[14]

He was using steroids, which may or may not have exacerbated his undiscovered congenital heart defect that caused him to die following a sauna session.

So many people love using Zyzz as an example of a skinny guy turned big (who then proceeded to bang bitches and live life):

But please remember that his transformation, while still being a result of hard work, was not entirely natural, and isn't something you should try to replicate. Do work out, do eat right, but don't rely on drugs to take you to your goal - you don't need to, and the repercussions might be lethal.

If you do want to achieve a similar transformation, then I suggest you head over to the Fitness OT over at community (and read the OP, twice) where you have plenty of folk who have transformed their bodies with some hard work and patience - not drugs.

R.I.P. Zyzz - every death is a tragedy, and yours might have been avoided.

Gonna take a zyzz pose pic. Rip zyzz. Let him be a cautionary tale. Disregard females and acquire aesthetics.

I still don't fully understand how he became this internet phenomenon. Indeed, I wasn't even aware of his existence until after he died.

Glad I'm not the only one. Never heard of him until like a month ago from a thread on here.

Known of him for a few years but didn't realize until last month how skinny and small he was before.

Damn, he lived his life fast and quick, can't say I'd want the same though. I'd rather get a healthier body that probably won't look as good as that, but won't shut my heart down. That before/after is insane though

Yeah, why do people still hero worship him after the discovery of steroid use to get to where he was? Anytime people mention him, it's in a positive light. The BB forums (and even here on GAF) are teeming with honest hardworking people that have transformed naturally. I just find it odd that they don't get the fame while a fraud does? Or is it being done ironically? bah

I would like to think it is irony.
Really though, it's a good thing more and more people hear about him, because then they also hear about how he died and how it might have been the result of steroids - which so many beginners think is a good idea (it's not).

This bothers me a bit too. Guy seems like he not only did everything for the wrong reasons, he did it the wrong way as well. If all the talk about him is some sort of running joke and he is just a big caricature, it's in pretty poor taste as well. There are far too many people in similar positions who only see the end he reached and might find it all to be worth it. I don't find it amusing at all, it's just sad.

Does Brandon Vedas (I told u I was hardcore) get a memorial here too?

I like to think that too is a precautionary tale.

Dude might have used steroids, but he had his heart at the right place - and he was intelligent as well

The way he and his crew talked, all those videos, pranks etc. made bodybuilding a much cooler sport to me

Lift in peace, son of Zeus

But you do get it. Because just he puts himself out there. You can follow him on you tube, twitter and whatever else. I'm sure they can have the same appeal if they did too and they don't even have to have his personality or lifestyle, though that would help a lot.

Never heard of the guy before but watching a few vids it seems he was kinda of a douche? He was "worshiped" on the internet?

Wasn't he a big gamer nerd? I think I read somewhere that he wrote strategy guides for Final Fantasy games or something. Then he got super buff and started attracting certain types of women. It's pretty easy to see how a particular contingent of internet dwellers would admire him en masse.
