Man it's a bummer that none of the guys gave SMTIV a shot. Game's fuckin' incredible.

I miss Tricky ;-;

I know he still does stuff, but if he were on the home crew, he'd be more motivated to play SMT4 in order to discuss it on the bombcast or do a quick look

How many times had Brad talked about not liking Christian Bale's Batman voice now? It was funny for him to be in the middle of that topic again and get cut off by the glitch in Brothers not being there.

yeah what was that about... it just cuts to black and then Brad starts to ramble about Bales voice in Batman.

What happened to the youtube option on the QL's? Last two haven't had one.

Only available to premium users. The logic being that their youtube is supposed attract people to the site, not for the site to dump people on youtube. Ads on their own site makes them more money. Premium users are already paying though, so they don't care where they watch the videos (also they don't see ads).

I can't believe my prediction that they wouldn't do a Quick Look of it came true.

Is it really that surprising? The intro is brutal while also being very tutorial-y and who there is really going to actually play the game outside of a quicklook setting?

Patrick would be the only one who would have really.

Didn't Jeff/Vinny do the Strange Journey quick look?

Playing games while talking is really hard. Either you devote your brain to focusing on the conversation, or you focus it on playing the game. GB is smart enough to know that people would rather hear them talk than watch them sit in silence and be amazing at a game.
I don't know, there are some great streamers out there who do just that but it doesn't really matter I suppose. With the Pikmin 3 it just felt like a person playing for the first time, everything was so clunky in terms of movement and the like. Just think it can make the game look bad. But not an issue this time, he said he was enjoying himself.

People seem to not know that multitasking is a terrible thing to do to your brain.

Okay fair enough, so why couldn't Brad and Drew talk to give Alex chance to concentrate on the game?

After watching the Pikmin 3 QL i ordered a Wii-U and this game, i'm so weak.....

Oh well i'll enjoy it nonetheless.

I did the same thing after watching the MH3U stuff.

...sold everything a couple months later after putting about 150 hours into it. I'm weak too, but inevitably remorseful.

Since I recently got my first premium subscription, I've been digging into the GB archives, and I came across this #e3mysteries thing that was apparently a running joke for a bit. Could someone give me some context on this? It would be much appreciated.

I hope to keep it longer then that! i believe i can hold out till some more games come out, also i never sell any hardware, especially not consoles unless they're completely broke, still got my Limited Crystal Edition Xbox, The Duke.

it was during one of the bombcasts where they got Adam Sessler as a guest (some time after him quitting G4 and being jobless).

After answering some questions about e3 that people were interested in hearing but never had the access to answer (like what happened to Kentia Hall) I think Ryan/Patrick started to push it

So no live show today? :(

I mean they should get rid of TNT anyway, but at least do something else. You have all those old games!

No daily dota today? nothing? not even brad chatting while watching TI3? And Alex is in town to "help out"?

hmm. kinda lazy, giant bomb.

I am a premium member. It doesn't appear anymore.

I wouldn't want them to get rid of the TNT's, i'm not a GB member, so the only thing i'd be left with is the podcast and the quick looks - which is fine honestly, but the TNT's offered a sort of "hanging out with the GB crew live" and the occasional chance to play games with them.

Since Ryans passing have they done any shows from the set?

Maybe they are changing things around or something.

Edit. I think they have done a episode or two of UF?

its still kinda jarring seeing them shy away from the ryan focused stuff

Ryan did always seem like the driving force behind TNT, so I wouldn't want to see them go through the motions, lest it become something like the Wednesday show. I give them credit for even doing this much, they had basically finally just gotten into a groove when Ryan passed away. I hope they can get back to doing two weekly shows, but UPF is enough for me for the time being.

IMO TNT was long overdue for a rethink and redesign anyway so personnaly, it's not exactly a big loss if it never comes back.

They've done UPF every week since like the week after his death.

Well since I am not a premium member that month it feels like they havent been on the live set in ages.

Ill probably get a month next week to catch up on the stuff I have missed but maybe they should get back to doing some kind of live show for the freeloading poor people.

Would be a good time to toss out the old multiplayer format for TNT for good even though it seems like that died a few months ago in favour of co op games and random bullshit.

Yeah, I'd love to see more TNTs like the ones with Brad Muir and Dave Lang, where they have one of their developer buddies over to play some of their old games and give us some inside-baseball stories. Those were pretty fun.

I forgot to mention that the Alex+Patrick podcast is awesome. I didn't know what to expect from it and I like that it seems to be the more news-focused material that people have asked for.

Why should they do that?

Err, yes it is a big loss.

It means UPF is the only long form video they do every week and is locked behind the paywall.

I'm not saying they shouldn't do anything else other than UPF... I'm saying that the current format of TNT was crap and I won't miss it. Hopefully they will come out with a good concept to replace it.

Maybe they could replace it with a show that focuses on the new releases of the week.

Maybe invite some of the Gamespot guys over.
