i'm completely out of the loop as far as part 2 is concerned, but is it known whether or not it'll pick up where they left off with part 1, i.e., hank sitting on the toilet, taking the longest dump in tv history?

My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

There might be a cold open to a future moment, but I'm fairly certain it picks up straight where part 1 left off.

Saul knows about Brock. Walt might want to make peace with his demons before shooting up a fucking town and going to his death or something.

All the talk of there being no loose ends, everything tied up makes me think both these are coming out.

That usually applies to story archs and character development overall, not specific story beats or facts other characters might not know about.

Jesse has enough reasons to worry about Walt, him conveniently finding out every single detail or way Walter wronged him isn't needed in the narrative.

6 months later, Hank still on the shitter sweating profusely.

I don't feel it's been dropped, it's just not something Jesse would want to talk about constantly. It's definitely hurt him deeply, in a way you can still observe. Hell, check Problem Dog for proof. Jesse being broken that badly is a result of Jane dying, I think.
I meant dropped in the sense that they never really followed it up. Sure, you see Jesse breaking down and becoming a shell of him former self, but they don't really progress the plot any further. That plot point, for all intents and purpose, is still open and has room for satisfying closure.

I got behind on Dexter after Season 4 and never caught up. Seasons 1 and 4 were particularly good, though. Netflix gave the show a nice little ratings boost, dumb move to remove it.

It was the right move.

Unless you're invested already like me, its not worth it.

(S5P1 spoilers)
is Walt wearing a toupee in the flash forward?

Seems like Cranston's real hair to me.

Damn I can't believe it's back tomorrow!
Has anything leaked about what hanks reaction is after he gets off the toilet? The suspense is killing me.

I don't think so but it's hard to imagine he does anything other than come out, go back to the table and sit there with thoughts racing through his head. Not like he'll reveal it then and there, makes no sense.

Alright so maybe it has been said. Haven't actually read the reviews :P
Probably best that you don't. The first episode went out to a ton of people, and I'm pretty sure you could piece together most of the premiere by reading through them. I've been trying to avoid spoilers, but I've seen much more than I'd like while skimming for pull quotes in the reviews.

They say on the insider podcast. It's his real hair, since it was the first thing they filmed. Then he shaved it for the rest of the season.

Such a hero; taking one for the rest of us!

So does anyone think the flashforward from S5x01 will actually be one of the last scenes of the the final episodes?

Guess it depends on how much time passes between episodes

I watched it last night and Walt's overall demeanor is chilling; he doesn't even seem like the same guy. However much time has passed, something really really bad happened, that much is clear.

The hype is trickling down my leg.

The scene where Walt opens his trunk and there's a shitload of guns is, I reckon, either from the penultimate or final episode. In my opinion,
I think there will be a shootout between Walt, Jesse and the DEA, including Hank. One of them will be shot and killed, one of them will be fatally wounded - my money is on Hank so he'll revert back to a rock collector - and the other will walk away unscathed.

I'm only seeing one.

thus far, have there been any legit spoilers?

I don't want to see them, I just want to know if its safe to browse other sites that aren't as well moderated as gaf

There's plenty of spoilers - including in this thread - on what the cold open will be for the episode tomorrow. There's also full synopses and lots of spoilers for the rest of tomorrow's episode elsewhere. Thankfully, it's been pretty easy to avoid them. I don't know of any spoilers for the remaining 7 though, which is great.

I like the print out of the manual for the gun. Sure, just read that and you're all set for your rampage, Walt.

It'd be great to see Jim Beaver as Lawson again, but I doubt he makes another appearance.

Lots from the premiere, but I don't know if any of the ones from the later episodes turned out to be real. I think most of them were eventually labeled as fake. Surf at your own risk, though.

Yikes, I know about the cold open but I didn't hear about the spoilers for the rest of the episode. Looks like I'll stick to gaf, thanks pal.
