They should have announced this at E3. People wouldve given them a standing ovation too.
Man, that's like... AAAA. XboxOne Games are gonna be amazing.
Why?
How many more RAMs do these batteries now add to the xbox? Will we see it hit higher TFlops?
At the time that was posted most of the jokes were bad memes, often repeated multiple times every few posts on a silly subject that already had a thread.

Maybe Microsoft should avoid making big announcements for small details like this one, it doesn't work in their favor.
Joking aside, any value that's added is welcome, no matter how small.
you guys are crazy, when my PS3 controller dies I'm basically done playing so I constantly have to plug it in which is annoying. Wireless 360 pad? Go steal some batteries outta a TV remote and slap my old ones in the charger for 15 minutes.
We don't have to count them as a plus point to the Xbox One. What's next? Do we give Xbox One another point if its manual is bigger or if there's some small $1 credit for XBLA?
AA batteries... In 2013....
They just couldn't join the civilization and go with an internal battery, could they!
Clearly this is why it costs $100 more than the PS4. Well worth it too.
I much prefer AA batteries myself. Internal batteries always seem to lose charge over time. That doesn't seem to be as big of an issue with rechargeable AAs, especially since you can just swap them out with ease.
Fucking news of the day right here.
Rechargeable batteries, I hope.
Can the controller not be recharged using USB?
Well technically it is added value, isn't it? Like...$1? Why wouldn't I count it as such? I wouldn't mention it in comparisons, nor would it change absolutely anything for me, but it's technically additional value*.
This may not be quite as good news as I thought as I've heard that they're going to sell the chargers separately. You also need to buy batteries for each additional controller.
Again....you prefer spending extra money? I have never had a PS3 battery die and I have been through about 6 of them, I usually buy new ones when I wear the sticks out or a button breaks. I have never met someone who complained of a dead PS3 controller battery and aside from that, what year is it?
"Oh I love AA's in my Galaxy S3...so good saves so much time from having to swap them over and Golly...those batteries die over time".....riiiiiiiight.
It was an offhand comment via Twitter FFS.
How embarrassing for GAF this is on the front page.
One of my ps3 remotes died about 2 months after I purchased it and would only work via the wire. Can someone explain to me why you would prefer batteries.
Wait. PS4 does not have wifi?
Sources tell me, that the batteries will require a recurring connection to a power source every 24h or they'll stop working. What if I live somewhere without electricity? F*ck you, Microsoft.
Wifi direct isn't the same as B/G/N wireless, which it has listed under "network".
Yeah, and PS4 won.
XBone: AA
PS4: AAA
Triple A beats double A. Its basic math, can't argue with that.
You are forgetting that Xbone batteries gets extra power juice from the clouds.
