Xbox One will include TWO AA batteries

How many more RAMs do these batteries now add to the xbox? Will we see it hit higher TFlops?

The extra juice adds the 10% of power BACK into the GPU allowing 100% of it to be used in games. By using MrXmedia theory, we determine 1AA= 5% of power.
2AA= 10% of power.
Given MS's software know how, they will multiply its power by two! Thus rendering it 20% more powerful than a PS4! Such power without even factoring in the other super computer ductaped onto the MB!
If only Sony had the money to work this magic!

At the time that was posted most of the jokes were bad memes, often repeated multiple times every few posts on a silly subject that already had a thread.

Should I feel bad that I still laughed? :(

I don't know guys. I have a friend who knows a dev and he says the dev kit comes with 3 AA batteries. I think there's a good chance that Microsoft are shipping with 3 batteries at launch. Also there's a thread on B3D claiming an increase of 53 mAh per battery. CBOAT I'm waiting on you.

2... Batteries... ?

Joking aside, any value that's added is welcome, no matter how small.

I disagree, even though it sounded logical. It's too small to recognize as value. It is neglectable. Otherwise when we compare them side by side with plus and minus points we actually have to give 2 batteries as a plus point the Xbox has over a PS. So let's not do that. Unless... they included a manual... Good it be..?
And depending on batteries might not be a plus to start with

Not that I care about 2 batteries. But I must give MS a lot of credit for the very good battery time on the 360 controllers...as opposed to the battery eating Wii Remote.

you guys are crazy, when my PS3 controller dies I'm basically done playing so I constantly have to plug it in which is annoying. Wireless 360 pad? Go steal some batteries outta a TV remote and slap my old ones in the charger for 15 minutes.

Get 2 controllers

Have 1 charging and use the other

We don't have to count them as a plus point to the Xbox One. What's next? Do we give Xbox One another point if its manual is bigger or if there's some small $1 credit for XBLA?

If you actually count it as added value for a $500 device then i don't know what to say. It is ridiculous though. Your manual comment did't add to your point by the way.

Clearly this is why it costs $100 more than the PS4. Well worth it too.

AA batteries... In 2013....

They just couldn't join the civilization and go with an internal battery, could they!

I much prefer AA batteries myself. Internal batteries always seem to lose charge over time. That doesn't seem to be as big of an issue with rechargeable AAs, especially since you can just swap them out with ease.

Can someone explain to me why you would prefer batteries.

I simply swap controllers when my PS3 battery dies, and in 2 seconds I'm back gaming, why would I want to stop playing and swap out batteries or have to put them in a recharger...and why would I want to spend more money on that shit.

Is this a troll post? I thought surely shitty AA Batteries were dropped by now.

EDIT:

Again....you prefer spending extra money? I have never had a PS3 battery die and I have been through about 6 of them, I usually buy new ones when I wear the sticks out or a button breaks. I have never met someone who complained of a dead PS3 controller battery and aside from that, what year is it?

"Oh I love AA's in my Galaxy S3...so good saves so much time from having to swap them over and Golly...those batteries die over time".....riiiiiiiight.

Well technically it is added value, isn't it? Like...$1? Why wouldn't I count it as such? I wouldn't mention it in comparisons, nor would it change absolutely anything for me, but it's technically additional value*.

It's nonsense to even mention or consider it as added value. Literally, not technically.

This may not be quite as good news as I thought as I've heard that they're going to sell the chargers separately. You also need to buy batteries for each additional controller.

lol

It seems a number of people haven't got a 360. I don't know if the newer models come with a recharge kit, but the launch models certainly did not. The recharge kit was sold separately.

They're just doing the same thing they did with the 360 that's all.

Both my DS3s go from full charge to out of juice after like 4-5 hours of use. They're both pretty old but they're perfectly functional otherwise so I don't feel like replacing them. My 360 controllers last way longer than that before I have to swap batteries. If I were to guess I'd say north of 48 hours.

It's not really an added cost for me because I already have a bunch of eneloops that I've bought for cheap. Even if I didn't have have any I'd rather spend $10 on batteries than have to deal with an internal battery. Just a personal preference based on my experience.

One of my ps3 remotes died about 2 months after I purchased it and would only work via the wire.
Sony is tits on a bull useless in Canada and would do Fuck all for me and I had to buy another entire remote.
Also I have a ton of rechargeable batteries

what a nice gesture from microsoft!!!

whats the next news from them?

probably letting us know that xbone will be wrapped in plastic back inside the box

Ok seriously now, I actually find just the fact the X1 controller requires batteries to be a joke. Even Nintendo have rechargable controllers that don't require batteries now. Nintendo. It's annoying having to keep spare batteries on hand all the time.
