Hawt Too Human Screens

It's almost funny that games that tout themselves as being epic trilogies so often fall flat on their face before the first game is even released

Just curious, when has this happened outside of Too Human?

Anyway, this game does and and always has looked like shit. From their shitty showing at that E3, to that big IGN preview that made the combat look like a shitty verison of Devil May Cry, to what we're seeing today, it's incredible that anybody could believe that this game will be good unless some kind of complete overall is done. I always thought that planning for a trilogy seemed like a surefire way to doom yourself.

Edit: Woah. I missed you over there Dyack. I ain't taking back what I said, but just know that I don't mean it personally. I know you guys can make a quality product but I'm just not seeing it in Too Human. I really do believe that keeping sequels in mind will hinder the overall experience when the first game finally does hit because then you basically aren't shipping a complete thought/experience.

Denis, you should invite some Gaffers to come play the game. Make sure they don't have Halo avatars btw.
Good thing I changed mine :D
And I live near Ottawa, Sillicon knights is in ontario right? So you should invite me ;)

lolz.

eternal darkness is really good imo. One of my fav games for the cube.

they should just have skipped this Too Human crap and made ED 2 instead.

Yo, Advent Rising was the shit. They need to make some sequels for that game. AHHHHH, you brought back good memories for someone so bitter towards Mashitco.

It has been happening to Too Human for so long that it feels just as if it already happened multiple times.

Sorry but if anyone has blown TH out of proportion it has been Dennis. He stated his concepts are lost on the NeoGaF forum members. Right now I see Too Human as a futuristic dungeon crawl, but with an ambitious story and cinematic delivery. Why can't he just say that.

I think he was merely stating to keep the scope and gameplay in mind while your busy spreading your cheeks to drop a deuce on the pics.

Or

It's not a hallway shooter or an arena fighter.

Bleh. Overall/Overhaul. There goes my brain crossing wires again.

As for my trilogy question, I guess I forgot one obvious example. Shenmue! Beyond Good and Evil might also apply I guess. Of course the difference here is that these games were actually good.

I want to qualify that I believe that there are many here are very reasonable and great to interact with -We are confident when most gamers play Too Human in motion they they will be very happy with what we have created. Understanding the type of game we are is almost always lost here too:

1) 4 Player Co-op
2) Hunting Gathering Loot Collecting
3) Class Customization
4) Fast Action Combat with many enemies
5) Very rich content

We get compared to Heavenly Sword or MGS which make no sense at all to me. I understand we might look similar in some ways but they are vastly different games.

Action RPG based on Kingdom Under Fire universe.
4-player co-op mode via Xbox Live
6 unique characters who can wield 5-6 different types of weapons each.
50+ abilities, 60+ spells, and infinite combinations of weapon+ability+spell.
70+ monsters ranging from 3-foot Goblins to towering behemoths.
What you see is what you can destroy.
Innovative story delivery.
Randomly generated dungeons.

Closer, or at least not vastly different, right ?

Many of the screen shots that so many here get excited about with other games are clearly faked.

:lol Dyack, How do you explain the initial shots and videos? Don't tell those were real.

So could one say that Too Human has rogue like elements in it? I wasn't too excited about another GoW clone, but toss in coop item collection and character advancement and we have a recipe for greatness. It's hard to get the variation of items to be interesting and useful enough, never mind also nailing a skill tree as deep as Diablos, but I always love to see an attempt at it. Fuck ground breaking, I am fine with incremental improvements. Bioshock was an incremental improvement.

Hey Sal,

Yes, definitely closer - I have not played much of that one so its a bit guessing looking at your points listed. The closest game in the press that I have seen of late has been Hell Gate London, they seem more FPS and less action.

Anyway, we are far from Devil May Cry or Heavenly Sword as they are purely action games and we only incorporate similar action elements but that does not fully define Too Human as it does those games.

We definitely have the skill trees, epic loot, weapon customization, etc... - think Diablo, Titan's Quest, WOW etc.... Too Human is a very big game and it is difficult to appreciate it until you sit and play. This is one of the reasons we are doing a demo on Marketplace.

And who said devs never listened to us?

Shhh. You'll make Dennis cry.

for the most part people have kept it pretty civil in here. Let's not go down the 2nd grade path of name calling and silly comments like this...

I just got a lot more excited about this title. Those are easily some of my favorite elements in game design. Such a sucker for rogue likes, even the more action orientated ones. I honestly don't know if this is something you want to stress but I know us Diablo et all fans generally have no idea about these aspects of Too Human.

I was kind of pissed I wasn't getting Eternal Darkness 2 anytime soon, but hell, screw survival horror. I just want to pull the one armed loot bandit till my eyes bleed or my wrist seizes up. That sounds kind of sarcastic, but honestly, I eat that shit up.

I have a question for DD.. are you thinking of allowing players to export their character to Too Human 2 (working title)?

I almost postive in one of the IGN video interviews, he says that yes, you will be able to bring their characters in Too Human 2.

Nice nice! That is a big thing for me. I remember playing old school PC games where I would bring my characters through 3 games. (4 in the Pools series) and by the end they were so kick ass... I just miss that growth in some games these days..

oh god, they're gonna do TH2 next? There goes my hope for ED2 :(

Question about the animation, has it been fixed? During the E3 07 demo/show case the graphics look great but the animation looked kind of "stiff" is this being worked on / fixed?

dunno about next, but it's supposed to be a trilogy for the xbox. (were all titles gonna be xbox exclusive or just the first, with an option to make the others exclusive if it sold well?)

I'm beginning to think Dyack may have a point about Epic and the UT3 engine. From all the games I've seen using the engine, most of them don't look anywhere as good as Gears. The latest I've seen being Timeshift which looks like crap imo. Either the developers do not know how to utilize it properly or Mr. D was right.

Thanks. I can't say I like the look of Hellgate (except for the Hive Blade), but it's good to know that KUF:COD is in TH's ballpark in terms of genre and features.

I've never ripped TH screen shots, shit I even DEFENDED them. For this type of game looks are secondary to me. TH is my best chance of playing a good Diablo type game on the 360. I'm hoping for good things.

I hope your game turns out great, but please take people's criticism of the animations seriously. It's such a huge part, you can have the best gameplay mechanic in the world and the animations will bring it down completely. Do mo-cap or whatever it takes.
