Persona 4 Arena Sequel Announced [Japanese arcade-only update for now]

nevermind, looks like some people at dustloop figured out what yukari is wearing.

Sure. But first I want Akihiko to actually be viable against the cast. Which he isn't with that Persona attack. I can see where they were going with him but when he's fighting 9/10 Persona users (the 1 being a mirror) what is the point of a magnet pull? If they changed that to where Akihiko gained Magnet from a super or a special and made him half-Tager while giving him a better Persona strong attack, I'd be in business.

Aki needs none of which you're hoping for. I'd go for stronger oki/mixup with some slight damage nerfs in P4A2. If you really think Akihiko isn't viable in P4A, I'll play you right now and change your mind :)

Akihiko is all about reads. He's rewarding as hell - I wouldn't call him good by any means though.

I don't need much from Caesar. Maybe an overhead like what Yukiko's persona does. Right now, dude's just a decoy for noobs.

Believe me. You won't change his mind. This is the same TheSeks who let people throw Yukiko's 2B at him all day, did nothing to stop it, and proceeded to go complain in the OT about how weak Akihiko was when he didn't even try.

Yep. All I really would ask for.

It'd be nice to get some fancy shit like armor or something, but something to stack the deck a little more once I've got guys on the ropes is more than enough. You have to work way too hard to set people up and get in close just to get into a 50/50.

I suck at fighting games, but considered me hyped. Loved the original Arena, but the massive delays PAL regions suffered left a sour taste in my mouth.

The bloooooooooow up

Honestly, I don't care what they do to Akihiko. As long as they don't pummel his damage in the ground, whatever. I'm not even really that salty about the Persona card thing.

it's nice to see everyone from the p4a ot again :)

Aww yes, Persona 3 Arena! Let's go Koromaru and Ken!

EDIT: Actually, call me crazy, but I hope it's Metis! Probably Margaret though.

Akihiko damage was WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too high. It made matches super random. I rather they improve his overall game and nerf his damage. It was stupid that I would outplay him then he would risk a gamble get in and I get hit twice and die in like 10 seconds.

Make his neutral game better, tone his damage down.

Eh, I can *sort of* agree to that, but I would need to thinkmore about changes, I guess. That's sort of what I liked about him though. He gets a few big hits and you're done, not too different from big Mitsuru combos :P

mitsuru was just pure stupid. Good neutral + good damage + good mixup.

The problem with current akihiko is that he is just so polar. It makes balancing him really hard.

lol screw that. akihiko only had two ways to start his combos up reliably. if you get hit by that no-range hook, you deserve whatever happens next

damn near everything akihiko does is a gamble. especially against yukiko lol

Oh man, WHY AM I GETTING SO HYPED?

GOTY 2012, meet GOTY 2014(?)

Yeah, I can totally tell that. But to me (and I'm probably wrong, this is just how I play him) is to rely on reads, you get a few good reads and you get good damage. And overall he's a powerful character, maybe a slight damage nerf but not into the dust or anything.

Shadow Junpei sounds like some greatness.

Kinda bummed that there's no Shadow Shadow Labrys or Shadow Elizabeth, but I'll live.

I actually took this as semi-confirmation of the longstanding theory that Elizabeth and her siblings are already Shadows.

Speaking of, has anything been said about Mitsuru as of yet? As a Liz player that was the worst =(

Has a new confusion move. That is all at this stage.

@JiyunaJP: Chie now has a Lunge Punch like Yun, she can do it after her Hop Kicks. EX version wall bounces and she can combo. She looks slower

Liz Changes:

Garukasu gone,
A autocombo change, AAA throws a card, launches them w/ a tornado on hit,
air bdash travel is shorter?
A.Zio is 1 hit
AA not much recovery?
JB > JA doesn't work?
maybe JB has more recovery?
5C(2) can pass through and whiff if too close/point blank
Can feint R-action
75% * awakening gives A+B Dia & heals ~40%
B.Bufu freeze 2x?
A.Bufu freeze on (1)
D.Garu +startup +recovery
Air j.2B added
I wish I knew what most of this meant! :-P

Shadow Elizabeth sounds broken since the Shadows in this game have a mode that allows them to have unlimited sp for a small amount of time.

@jiyunaJP Different characters have different numbers of Persona cards. Kanji/Chie- 3 Naoto- 4 Teddy- 5 #P4U

@jiyunaJP Teddy has air AoA haha. New AAA auto-combo. Kanji just mashed 15 hits on AoA, did C launcher...but no Fatal Counter!? #P4U

Beating someone with a character isn't really going to change someone's mind, bro. The only thing that will accomplish is the fact that you beat him.
