Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | August 2013 | Divekicks & Dragons

whoa whoa whoa whoa WHOA

Why does the PSN digital preorder of EU Rayman Legends show 11.9 as the date? Does the Vita version release after the others? ;(

Man I'm so torn I bought borderlands 2 (and the season pass) on 360 and barley played it because I thought the dialogue/areas were awful etc, but I might play the game if I had it on the go... hmm

I bought it for the 360 and it ate my goddamn save killing all my momentum.

I'd still buy it for Vita (and save constantly)

Unless a hypothetical year-late port of Borderlands 2 features some amazing exclusive content or is sold at a reduced price or F2P (ha!), it's a total Catch 22.

It's hard to justify purchasing a (likely inferior) port of a game you can buy for much cheaper elsewhere, especially such a multiplayer focused game whose main attraction would be rendered moot once you're out and about on a bus or plane. But as it would be Vita's most high-profile Western third-party release in a while, publishers' eyes would be all over it, so poor sales would likely wipe out any hope for a Bioshock (another 2K staple) or any other potential big Western games.

It's Epic Mickey 2 all over again, except we might actually feel the consequences of this risky experiment.

BreakQuest Extra Evolution glitched on me. Whenever I download a game good from Near, the number of balls goes up to either over 2 billion or around negative 100. The game was still playable, even with the negative number. Downloading the good again through Near flips the total between the two. Earning a ball raising the total up 1.

Is this happening to anyone else with the game and Near goods?

Has anybody managed to beat the world 6 boss in Floating Cloud God without losing any pilgrims? He's easy to beat really quickly, but it's impossible to stop him spraying a couple of bullets down on them (too many to block with my body).

EDIT: Got it, war of attrition.

thats great to hear - for some reason i haven't seen many impressions on puppeteer. thanks for the heads up. could you go into a little more why the demo fell flat for you? was it controls? gameplay?

also, i'd love to hear more on what you took away from tearaway.

I'm at work, so I can't go into too much, but here is my post from an old Vita thread after E3, where I ran down my impressions of the games I played (Tearaway among them): http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=62781601&postcount=2292

And here are my thoughts on Puppeteer: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=63424511&postcount=52

These comments were made back when both games were fresh in my mind, so I trust that more than my current memory about them.

Anyone know anything about Demon Gaze or Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God? Saw both listed as upcoming Vita games on Amazon.

Low budget first person dungeon crawler with a lot of fanservice, is actually half decent if you like the genre, and a poor dungeon crawling roguelike that's nothing to get excited about.

I loved the sorcery demo, is a very "cute"(literaly, not in some perv way), fun and lighthearted dungeon crawler with cooking elements(basically like alchemy in atelier games but with the difference that you can cook in dungeons).
I'm waiting for it.

I really hate the main character design for Tearaway 64. :[

Why is everyone talking about borderlands 2 vita as if it's a real thing?
Isn't it still a rumour?

The other day I noticed a kind of nasty little "chip" in my Vita screen. It's really small, and unnoticeable, but now that I've seen, I can't unsee it! It drives me crazy. Just so crazy that I might actually buy a second Vita. lol. But I won't, because I'm actually going to be getting a 3DS at some point in the future to complement my Vita, but not until I get the PS4 on launch.

I have spots behind my screen. Not sure what's behind there, but it shows up on black/dark screen. It also drives me crazy and makes me regret buying second hand.

Soul Sacrifice is alot tougher then when I played the Demo, I go into MP with three negative stats on me because I dont have enough lacrima to replenish my black rites and I get a message from my co-op partner that I'm a fucking scrub.

Thats not a result of second hand - mines brand new and has those weird super black spots on top of the normal black screen. Completely unnoticeable when screen is lit and playing tho, so no issues. Just not sure what its a result of...

It just a small chip, isn't it? Mine got so manyh chips and scratch god knows from where that always push me into the edge whenever I play my Vita and noticed it. I have protection screen on but something, something managed to scratch it more than one time. I recommend every one who still have clear screen to buy a face plate for their Vita if they want to keep sane.

Yeah, mine also have some "black"-y that noticeable when you play in a dark room. Its pretty clean outside and never a stain appear while I play. I wonder where does that black-y spot appear from.

You guys must be new. :p those black spots come from the Oled technology used in then vita. They're present on all vitas so don't worry.

My first Vita had a mysterious "chip" that seemed like it was on the inside of the screen because it was perfectly smooth but definitely chipped. It drove me insane, especially because it suddenly appeared one morning when I took my Vita out of its case. I was about to buy a new one, then a week or so later that update to finally play PS1 games came out and my vita bricked so I got a new one.

The trick to getting A+ is just getting solid combos and weapon variety.
Using the mask for combo window+ helps you if you got some skill.
You can also use the faster walk speed to help the combo window, but that takes more adjustment and you need decent twitch reflexes.

while that CAN get you an A+, the most surefire way to get one is to execute everybody.

From the Tearaway tumblr blog.

"Texture so bad jaggies like crazy sony needs to cancel and reform and yoshida need fired because he doesn't know what he doing he bad he a jerk and tearaway look horrible and stupid and dumb and jaggy."

Seriously though, that looks amazing.

Depends on what you execute with, I suppose.
There were people touting the drill as the way to go... but that's a pain in the ass and doesn't always get you enough.

In my experience executions are too slow. Plodding along getting 1000 per execution or whatever just doesn't really cut it. But hey, if it worked for you, awesome. :)

Everything but Iota or whatever it's called. The rest of it looks fantastic. :P

Anyone else have an early version of Divekick that would be up for playing a few online matches? I got the game to review, but my friends list is pathetically tiny. PSN name is the same as my username here.

And this game is so much fun...I'm generally lousy at fighting games, but I seem to be semi-okay at this one.

First of all, this BL2 on the Vita doesn't sound legit. I know there is a source from Sony, but he likely has misinformation, so I'm not getting my hopes up. Secondly, if it did come to the Vita, it'd be less than native res (which would pretty much ruin the art style). Borderlands 2's framerate drops almost dramatically in some areas on my 7950. The only way they could do it without going less than native res is if they totally destroyed the draw distance (the draw distance options on the PC makes nearly no change to framerate).

I bought it for the 360 and it ate my goddamn save killing all my momentum.

I'd still buy it for Vita (and save constantly)
This pissed me off as well. I beat the first dual boss (the bam and whatever) and then I quit the game shortly afterward. Next time I booted it up I was about 5 mins away from the boss.. which I had to beat again. >:(

I agree, the drill is much too slow and my character drops it when doing some executions so I don't use it. I just do regular executions and it will pretty much without-a-doubt get you an A+ if you execute nearly around 3/4 of the enemies (on the later levels with a lot; on the early ones you probably need to execute everybody).

This game would look amazing in 3D. Cross your eyes to overlap the GIFs and be mesmerized.[/IMG]
If the two gifs aren't from slightly different viewpoints, crossing your eyes doesn't do a single thing.

Yeah, it's just a tiny chip, and really isn't very noticeable, but fuck if it doesn't drive me crazy. Especially since I keep it in its case 100% of the time when it's not in use. Bah! So annoying. I'm pretty careful with the screen, and I did buy a screen protector back when I first got my Vita, but it wasn't applied properly, and got some dust underneath, so I said "Fuck it," and went commando. Ah well. I may get a new one down the line anyway, if Sony announces some kind of revision or something. I'm in no hurry just because of a scratch.

It's a known glitch. I heard if its negative, you essentially have unlimited balls.

Bioshock Infinite Vita confirmed by Play-Asia.com?

Their website says Bioshock Infinite Vita has been announced, and the preorders for the game is opening soon (it's the 5th game on thier website).
Are we getting an official announcement at Gamescom? Fingers crossed!

EDIT: Also, there's a game called Broken, by SCEJ, that also says announced on Play-Asia. Has anyone heard of this game?

EDIT: Wait... has this been up on their website for some time? Sorry if this is old news.
