Persona 4 Arena Sequel Announced [Japanese arcade-only update for now]

Hm, well every character will always have combos that are difficult to perform for players of a lower skill level, so this kind of confuses me. I'm just glad because it means Aigis' damage output has been significantly reduced.

I think there's some benefit to it. It's more than just reducing her damage. Megido Fire was such a staple of her Orgia mode, and by removing double Megio fire you make other options seems realistic and lower the barrier for entry.
 
The game pushes her on to you throughout its entirety, I find it very hard to ignore or deny. She's the first person you meet, she guides you to the school, people start thinking you're together, she's there when you awaken your persona to save her, she's the first person to see you in the hospital, you and her get forced into being paired up to look for the gym keys, you get trapped in the hotel room with her, you get forced into comforting after finding out about her dad. This is all before Aigis is even introduced. All of Elizabeth's dates were optional amd part of FES and so was Aigis' social link. Aigis' relationship in vanilla amounted to just following you around not knowing why until the November event.

Persona always pushes the Lovers arcana on you. Its how they choose to represent it.
 
Aigis only seemed like a protector. Same with Elizabeth. On the other hand, they made it obvious with Yukari.

I'll agree that both Aigis and Elizabeth seemed more like a worried companion or guardian at first. It becomes more than obvious how they feel as their events progress, though. Though all in all, I can't believe anyone thinks that Yukari isn't the closest to being the canon love interest if she isn't already. It was thrown in your face so often I can't imagine someone missing that.
 
Umm, why? Game has been out for over a year and it'll be two years after release before this version hits consoles.

What? P4A was first revealed in August 2011 and released on consoles (in the US) a year later. And that was when they had to build a brand-new game whereas they're building onto one here. So why do we think this will take any longer than a year to hit consoles?

Because I doubt ASW is releasing the Arcade version before Q4 this year.

Won't this update be in arcades a lot sooner than 2 years from now? That's what I'm ticked off about.
It's not 2 years from now, what I'm saying is by the time this comes to consoles it'll be almost 2 years before the first game came out.
 
You know, I thought Yukari's design was silly at first (And in a lot of ways, it still is), but it's actually really grown on me.
 
*Debilitate Command: Charge 6 -> 4 A or B Elizabeth floats into the air and throws a card downward. If either the card or Elizabeth is hit with an attack, the move activates. Opponent is sent skyward and inflicted with negative penalty. Version differences are in startup and counter duration. Can followup with 5B.

Non-awakening D version: Number of hits decreased, fire ends about midscreen. Awakening C version: More hits than non-awakening, fire comes from behind after coming from in front. Awakening D version: More hits than non-awakening, fire comes from in front after coming from behind. Awakening SB version: More hits than non-awakening, recovery decreased (?)

Did you not like Power Rangers growing up?

When I was like, 6, sure. I have no love for it whatsoever now though. It's not something that left a lasting impression on me, unlike, say, Disney films.

Rise is also the one that they chose to pair the MC with in the ski trip animated cutscene.

If by 'pair with' you mean 'stand with', then yes. There's nothing remotely romantic about it.
 
All these new moves and nerfs changes...it will be like learning a new game again. Not that I mind though.

Sucks that Mitsuru can't 5AA 5B on airborne opponents either. IIRC LordKnight mentioned you can't use D Bufula for corner oki anymore, so that's another nerf...
 
Specifically P1-Climax.

The first game wasn't called Persona 4 Grand Prix.

I don't think Climax will be the name.

I posted in the community thread, but Mui (JP competitive player) tweeted about the game referring to it as "P4C". Pretty sure Climax is the name.

That definitely seems to be the case. Because they ended up giving her traps more recovery time (not like people could just hit/izanagi car their way through the traps anyway), gave her reloading more recovery time (while not slow, it wasn't all that fast even in vanilla P4A), and I guess threw her a bone by making Double Fangs an airborne attack too. Too bad that doesn't really fix her poor health and non-SMP shit damage even with crazy IAD combos.

Fuck it, if I can get back into the game, I'm going Yukari.
